 |
        | | Big win from Winnetka, Alex is calling
it. But who will prevail tonight?

                            | Caitlin Dudek Arlington, VA
 environmental consultant
 $27,399
 | Daria Labinsky Corrales, NM
 librarian
 | Rory Gillingham Sacramento
 administrative assistant
 | Caitlin starts with $200 Cooking.
Rory finds the Daily Double under $1000 One-Word Best Picture
Oscar Winners. She bets $1200 on this: a middle name in Latin.
"What is Amadeus?" Correct for $3600.
Trivia: Caitlin went to the same high school as Brad Rutter...
albeit a couple of years after he finished. So far, his skill
isn't coming as easy as it did yesterday, as she ends the round in
              third with $3400 to Daria's $6200 and Rory's $7200, meaning that
              she will start Double Jeopardy!...

... with $400 Poetic Birds, finding the first Daily Double under
$2000. She bets... $2500 on this from the Bard... "Love and
constancy are dead; / ____ and the turtle fled / in a mutual flame
from hence". "What is a dove?" No, it was the phoenix, leaving her
with $3300. Daria finds the other under $800 from the Greek. She
bets $5000 to try and put it away on this: the punctuation mark is
from the Greek for "limb"; the organ is from the Greek for "large
intestine". "What is a colon?" Right for $20,800. It's Daria's to
              lose with $22,400 against Rory's $7600 and Caitlin's $6100.

Final Jeopardy! in "1970s Hits": in 1970 2 performers reached the
top 20 with hits hit whose 6-wrd title was inspired by Boys Town.
Correct response: what is "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother"?

The lights came on a bit too late for Daria, but still, it's
enough to win with $22,100. Caitlin and her cute face leave with
              $29,399.

        |   | Last night, Phil sat out
half of the night to get some sushi. Now he's back... and apparently he
wants some of his money back.

 | Guy

 $285,000
 | David
            "Viffer" Peat online poker player
 $118,000
 |
            | BLINDS/ANTES: $200/$400/$100 | Guy takes a lap round the
table as Tom plays Jacks. Mike raises with A-4 off. Flop: 8-10-5.
Nothing for both, but Mike bets. Turn: 9s. Tom now has a straight draw
to go with his pair. River: 2c. Tom doubles the pot... Mike gives it to
him, almost $50,000. Phil plays 4s against Peat's
Big Chick (Ah-Qs). The flop: 4-10-Q. Phil outflops with trip 4s against
Queens. He's all-in. Phil has David covered... David calls all-in. This
is for $234,100. Turn: 2d. Not counting insurance form David, Phil just
took $234,000. That leaves David deep in the red and Phil back in the
        black. But Viffer just caught
pocket rockets (As-Ah). Allen has the cowboys (Ks-Kc). Viffer's all-in
with $326,000 on the line. The flop: 7-2-5, two spades The first of two
boards to be put up. To take the pot, you have to win both of them.
Turn: 4s. River: 7s. Viffer takes the first board. Now the second...
Flop: 9-9-6. At worst, Peat will split. Turn: 2h. River: 10h. David wins
        $326,000. Phil plays A-9d against
        Tom's 5-4. Turn: 5-7-Jd. Phil's diamonds hold up. Turn: 4c. Needs
another 4 or 5 to win this. River: 7s. It could save Tom a lot of money.
Phil bets into it. Tom... gives it to him. Phil wins $102,000. Viffer steps away for a
moment. Hellmuth throws a tantrum over a bad beat (as usual). And Tom
traps Mike to take over $150,000 to end the night. Hopefully Viffer will return
by tomorrow night's finale. Wait... there he is. |

 | For many a Price fan, this
is it... A moment nine months in the making. The finale of Drew's first
year as host of a show that was, for the last 35 years, Bob's show. Will
we go out with a bang? We begin the festivities
with Anya Le, Christopher Lawhun, Lise Timmons, Rebecca Kuhn, and an
HDTV... ideal for watching season 37. Trust us. It's $2199 and it's
Lise's. Now that TV will go great with a camper. The lineup in 5-number
        Pushover... 2 1 4 1 1 8 8 0 5. She pushes to $18,805... One more
would've done it. It's $11,880. Allison Putnam goes down and
up thanks to a $1220 keyboard. Now can she find the path to a Pontiac
        G6? In a word... Yep. It's $21,370. Rebecca gets a $587 game
table. Can she win a wine bar marked $3590, a lawn mower marked $2300,
and a recumbent bike marked $2649? She can if she knows which price is
wrong. She goes with the wine bar... $1365! That's good! Also good, her
spinning on the Big Wheel. Thomas Buddinger scores a
$900 cutlery set. Now for a living room in Check Out. The last person
that did this did this flawlessly. Let's see if Thomas can match her. He
prices Zatarain's seasoning, Uncle Ben's rice, Clorox wipes, Plug-Ins
freshener, and Gold Bond cream at $16.50. Actual price: $14.52.
Difference... $1.98. Won by a hair! Kristine Rudolph wins a $650
luggage set. Will she carry it on out of here with a Mercury Milan? She
will if she knows when That's Too Much! She thinks $22,145 is Too Much!,
and That's... WAY too much. It's $19,450, so she should've stopped at
        $21,962. We're up to the 1200th
round, the final round of the season, and we're left with two
interlopers in Christopher and Anya. Will one of them escape with a
desk? The price... $2399... The winner... Christopher! Now we have a
little matter of the CD jukebox that can be won in Squeeze Play. The
price is not $89,695. He pulls the first 9.... Should've pulled the only
        6. At least he gets a shot at the Showcase thanks to his win in the
        Showdown. First Showcase: a dining
room with dinnerware, a security system, and a hot tub. Top winner
Rebecca passes, and Christopher tags it at $15,500. Rebecca gets
donuts... Don Harpwood not included. Heh. What is included is the Dough-nu-matic,
the trip to Holland, and a Pontiac Solstice. She bids $28,000.
After a quick thank you to
everyone and a shoutout to Bob, Drew gives us the good news... Actual
price of Rebecca's: $30,960, a difference of $2960. Actual price of
        Christopher's Showcase... $17,997, a winning difference of $2497. What a
finish! Christopher wins $20,396 worth of prizes! A big thanks to everyone
involved with the last season, Drew, Rich, Syd, Stan, Adam, Jeff, Scott
(who never won a game of FastTalkers, but won a coveted job, so I guess
he's no loser there), the beauties, the rest of the crew, the 1800 who
came on down this year, the myriads more who gave it their best shot,
and the millions more who watched. And a bit of farewell and
hail is in order for Roger Dobkowitz and Kathy "Fingers" Greco, as Roger
prepares to take some well-deserved time for himself before his next
great adventure, and Fingers prepares to pick up where he left off. Until season 37, folks!
        *salutes* |

Double (3): a part of a cigarette. Alba gets #1, the filter. Then
you have the paper. The Steins try and steal it with tobacco...
Got it for 188! By the way, kids...
              Smoking's wrong.
Triple (4): other than a razor, soemthing a man needs to shave.
Ivonne gets shaving cream for #1. A mirror is also up there. The
Steins try to take it with a beard... Winner, 371-143... Got to
have something to shave there. Other answer: scissors.

              131-114. Triple (4): other

Edgar. + is #1 for Angela. The Steins try = for the steal... There
it is for 246. Other answer: on/off. Muerte Subita. a
material used to make a guitar. That's Diana. "Madera." Wood will
              do it, 543-131.
Dinero Rápido: Conny pulls... "puntos extra". She & Carlos
get 166. The points say... 20. That gives them $1000 for today.
