Jeopardy! by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or jeopardy.com
Host: Alex Trebek
Craig Westphal (paramedic from Tucson, AZ); $41,701, two days
Matt Wauben (a systems engineer from Hanahan, SC)
Bill Weylock (market researcher orig. from Fort Lauderdale, FL)

Craig had no problem dispatching his opponents last time. What about today?

Craig starts with $200 City of the Day: Phoenix. At the TV time out, Craig continues making the other two look foolish with $5200 to their $3000... combined, Matt with $1200 and Bill with $1800.

Craig finds the Daily Double under $1000 Brownie Points. He bets $1000 on this: as per President Bush's 2001 request, U.S. Brownies gave $1 each to children of this country due east of Iran. "What is Pakistan?" Over one. It was Afghanistan, dropping him to $5400, still leading. He rebounds to $7000 at the half, while Matt goes up to $1600. Bill, who goes down to $1400, starts up Double Jeopardy!...

... with $400 A Parade of the Worst Dictators. Bill gets his land legs up as he finds the first Daily Double under $1200 11-Letter Words. He bets $2000 to tie the lead. The clue: a shameful or immoral act is said to be one of these before God. "What is abomination?"  Got it for $7800. Doesn't take much for Craig to get the hint that he has to move it. But it's Matt who finds the Daily Double under $1600 Know Your Earth. He bets $2000 on this: change 2 letter in magnetism & you get this term for the formation of igneous rocks in the earth's crust. "What is magmism?" Left out a syllable; it was magmatism, leaving with $6400. And this turns out to be quite the cage match, $13,800 for Bill, $13,000 for Craig, and $7200 for a still-alive Matt.

Final Jeopardy! in "US Newspapers": during the Amer. Revolution, this New England newspaper had the USA's highest circulation; it's still in the top 50. Correct question: What is the Hartford Courant?

Craig is right, better only $1401, so the best he can hope for is that Bill is wrong. ... He is. Craig wins it with $14,401, two days total of $41,001.

Lingo by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  7:30p ET/6:30p CT on GSN
Hosts: Chuck Woolery & Shandi Finnessey
Engaged couple Lori (administrator) & Stu (financial services marketer)
Married couple JooBee (substitute teacher) & Alan (works for the federal government)
BONUS LINGO JACKPOT: $10,000

Mary & Kati won the big money last time, so we're back down to $10,000 today.

Lori & Stu start with a B. Stu gets BEARS and the Lingo for 75.

JooBee & Alan get an L, but Lori & Stu get it back with a LAUGH. After a ball alignment by Chuck, they also pick up NURSE... and ANOTHER Lingo for 175.

JooBee & Alan finally get in this by turning S into SOAPY. Lori & Stu steal MINER, then follow with DRUNK... Stu draws a dreadful stopper. JooBee & Alan get PRIME and CARDS... and the Lingo... as they go into the half trailing, 225-125.

Okay, JooBee & Alan get a new board... and get to start because they're behind, starting with a C. Lori & Stu steal COCOA. Lori comes up with a stopper. They get the draw back with DOLLS. Lori makes up for it by drawing Lingo for 425 to the Reds' 125.

JooBee & Alan get a G GROWN, then get MERRY for the Lingo, giving them 325 to the Yellows' 425... and that's how it ends. Lori & Stu win it.

With four bonus letters, Lori & Stu get CLASS, TIGER, DUMMY, BREAK, YIELD, and SPRAY for six balls and $600. Money ball is 43. Lori gets.... 9. Last draw... Stu draws $5000.

Next time...  $11,000 in the drum.

The Price is Right by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  11a ET/10a CT on CBS (markets may vary)
Host: Bob Barker
Ladies and gentlemen, Sen. David Vitter (R-LA).

"The 'Price is Right' episode you're about to watch was taped before Hurricane Katrina, and includes a trip to New Orleans as one of the prizes. More than nine months after disaster struck the Gulf Coast, I'm proud to tell you that New Orleans is WELL on its way back, and visitors are welcome. Please come on down and see our amazing city."

Now to business. Catherine Hodges, Monica Brady, Trisha Winton, and Rachel Clark are your first-four ladies in waiting, as they bid on... an offroader. It goes to Rachel for $3374. She now has a chance to Pushover for a trip to Barcelona. The lineup: 3 1 7 5 9 2 2 1 0. She pushes to $3175. Actual price... $7592.

Monica wins a $940 luggage set as the New Yorker gets a shot at a Dodge Caravan. All she has to do is fight Temptation. The temptations? A $599 cat tree, $838 in stemware, a $499 TV/DVD/VCR combo, and two guitars worth $600. She makes the price $19,390. She can take $2536 in prizes or go for the car... She goes for the car. Actual price... $19,340. One off.

Dennis Mahern wins a $999 gumball machine. Next up? A washer/dryer and a sofa. The game is Clock Game. He wins the $828 sofa in 17 seconds, but he can't nail the sofa, worth $924. He probably would've gotten it if he had a little more time. His last guess was $924. But don't cry for Dennis; he's on his way to the Showcase...

While we take Rich time with young Britland, who gives Hal Parkham the calldown. He passes his audition. Yay, Britland. Regrettably, Hal won't see time outside of Contestants' Row.

Catherine wins a $1942 desk & chair. She'll go for a sauna in Side by Side... Is it $5245 or $4552? She goes left... Right! First winner!

Karen Starr is a star with a $1310 nightvision package, as she plays for a Pontiac Vibe. The game is a Cover Up... The board...

         3
       5 9
     0 7 7
   8 2 1 4
 1 4 5 3 1
 3 1 8 0 6
$2 6 4 8 2

The price is not $26,482. First up: $18,279. Right: 1, 8, 7. She then tries $18,571... RIGHT!

Last chance for Trisha with a baker's rack. Price: $1683. Winner... Trisha! She gets a shot at a $16,110 Chevrolet Cobalt in Hi-Lo. On the Hi row: Viactiv chews at $7.99, Nestle Good Start formula at $11.58, and Airborne gummi lozenges at $2.99. This doesn't bode well... It isn't. The Flexitol on the Lo row... $4.99.

But again, don't feel too bad; Trisha is in the Showcase. First up: a look at prospective players on TPIR out at the line, as we get a trip to New Orleans, a laptop, and a European cruise. Top winner Dennis passes to Trisha, who bids $17,500. Dennis gets girls looking for a good time at the mall. They find tennis equipment, golf equipment, a Donkey Kong/DK Jr./Mario Bros. arcade game, and a Ford F150. He bids $30,100. Actual price... $26,532. Over he goes. Actual price of Trisha's Showcase... $19,272! She wins $20,995 in swag.

Stats: 2-4; $53,404.

¿Qué Dice La Gente? by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  7p ET/6p CT on Telefutura (markets may vary)
Host: Marco Antonio Regil
It's the Feud... in Español... para los latinos en América. What else can we say except... ¡A jugar!

Veras (Geraldo, Yani, Adriana, Sandra, Adalberto)
Urbina (Raul, Eduardo, Luis, Ruben, Karla)

And after hosting 900 eps of "100 Mexicanos Dijeron", Marco is especially thrilled about hosting the first ep of this, especially for the Hispanics in America. After a quick thank you to Telefutura and FremantleMedia, we get right to the game.

Round 1: A physical characteristic that women think make older men attractive (6). Geraldo: "La barriga." The belly? Needless to say, it's not there. Raul scores top answer with "las canas" (grey hair). Rest of the family comes up with muscles, hair, smile, and eyes. One answer left; do the Veras have it? They go with beard... No! The Urbinas get 53. Other answer: "pompis" (butt).

Round 2: Something all soccer stadiums have (6). Eduardo gets field, #3. Ruben gets #1, the bleachers. Goals are next, but what about the Veras' steal? They go with "pelotas".... #4! That's balls to you and me, as the Veras lead with 80. Other answers: signs, fans.

Round 3: A part of a chicken many people eat (6). Luis fires with legs... #2. Adriana gets #4, wings. Geraldo gets #5, the head. Number one still in play. They go with "cocotes"... Neck is number one for 149! Other answers: innards, tail.

Hey, if you're reading this, and you want to be a contestant, call or write to 1.877.525.8427 or ajugar@tv.univision.com.

Double Round: Besides the pole, something you need to fish (4). Sandra gets the line, #3. Ruben gets one better with bait. They strike out, and the Veras family can win on this steal...they go with "hook"... That's win, 331-53. Other answer: net.

The Veras family are the first champs of ¿Qué Dice La Gente?, but can they translate that into a win at Dinero Rápido? Y'all know how we do. They need 200, and Adalberto and Geraldo will be asked the same five questions in order to get there. Adalberto scores 159, especially after getting the number one in "a characteristic of Dracula" (fangs). Geraldo only needs 41. He only needs one question and one number one: how much time can't you usually wait until Christmas (one month)... 38. So he needs another one.

And their prize? $5000. They'll be back tomorrow to face another family. Until then!

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire by Don Harpwood, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or millionairetv.com
Host: Meredith Vieira
Millionaire is back from a 2-week break (which I was unaware of until it started). And it's getting close to summer, so the hot seat could be getting hotter. When we last left off, Dennis Edwards (Washington, DC) was on fire, having reached the $8,000 level without using any lifelines.

Dennis has performed plenty of weddings, since he's a pastor. But one time, there was no music. So, the guests hummed the "Bridal March"! And so did he! That had to have been an interesting moment for him, but another one was where the groom requested for him to use quotes from "The Princess Bride" during the ceremony! But now, it's time to keep playing...

[$16,000]
Popular in Greek cuisine, tzatziki is a dip traditionally made of yogurt and what vegetable?
A: Beets
B: Eggplant
C: Carrot
D: Cucumber

The 50:50 leaves B and D. Dennis has an inkling, but he's still not sure enough, so he turns to the audience for help. But the audiences have a difference of opinion; one favours D (72% of the studio audience; 48% of the AIM users), and the other favours B (28%; 52%). Dennis goes with the studio audience, saying D... and it's D! Moving on...

[$25,000]
Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice is a concert-level performer on what instrument?
A: Oboe
B: French horn
C: Piano
D: Cello

Dennis thinks it's D, but just to be sure, he calls his friend, Tom. Tom says he's just about 100% sure that it's C. Dennis decides to trust his friend, and goes with C... and he has $25,000! On to the upper tier...

[$50,000]
If Prince Charles becomes King of England, what will his new royal name be?
A: King Charles II
B: King Charles III
C: King Charles V
D: King Charles VII

Dennis doesn't know for sure, so he switches the question. After seeing that it was B, this pops up...

[$50,000] (Q)
The only national flag that features a single color is the solid green flag of what country?
A: Somalia
B: Qatar
C: Cameroon
D: Libya

It's a free guess, so Dennis thinks about it, then guesses A... but it's D! Oh well; he does have $25,000!

Next up is Linda Rose (Dix Hills, NY). She had a rough time getting here; first, she pulled up to the train station as the train pulled away, then she had to use the subway, but she couldn't remember how things worked there! But she's here now, and ready to win some big bucks! Linda starts by knowing that George Washington is considered a "Founding Father". She sweeps the lower tier, then faces this...

[$2,000]
What popular Web site's name is based on a mathematical term defined as a "1 followed by 100 zeros"?
A: Yahoo!
B: Amazon
C: Google
D: Earthlink

Linda seems to think it's C, but she asks the audience anyway. Both polls favour C (85%; 89%). Linda trusts them... and they're right! Next question...

[$4,000]
What classic toy comes with a pointing device called a planchette?
A: Ouija board
B: Rubik's Cube
C: Yahtzee
D: Magic 8 Ball

Linda says it's not A or B, but she isn't sure what it is, so she uses the 50:50. A and C remain. Linda goes with C... but she's wrong! It's A! Well, she does head home with $1,000.

Now in the hot seat is Chris Jenkins (Mt. Union, PA). He's a lineman, meaning he has to climb poles and steel towers when there's a problem with electricity. He says he's a bit more scared of the hot seat than he is of heights, but hopefully, he won't get too nervous because of it. Chris starts by knowing that zealous journalists are often called newshounds (especially since "Christiane Amanpoodles" just sounds weird). He gets through the lower tier, then breezes through to $8,000.

And there's the horn. Chris will be back for more tomorrow.
