Baggage
by Chico Alexander

Air time: 6:30p/5:30C on GSN
Host: Jerry Springer
On the Web: www.gsntv.com/baggage

Joanna
Newcastle, England
makeup artist
Brock
Denver
account executive
Andrew
Kasson, MN
bartender
Brian
Santa Rosa, CA
business owner

Once again, it's Cougar Town, only this time, she's looking for a cub...

Small Baggage: Brock doesn't know how to swim. Joanna has some flotation devices for that. Andrew still sleeps with his baby blanket. And apparently appears on game shows with it as well. Brian owes $2000 in parking tickets.

Dealbreaker Baggage: Bachelor #1 bankrupted 3 companies. Bachelor #2 has a collection of women's panties, that dirty dirty man... Bachelor #3's two sugar mamas pay for his car and apartment. Brian gets the shaft after it's revealed that Joanna doesn't like the characters from "Wall Street". Meanwhile, we have Andrew with two sugar mamas, and Brock with an endless supply of sweet nothings.

Time to break out the roll-alongs. Brock dumped a girlfriend at her grandfather's funeral. That's cold. Andrew... paid for sex. That's hot. Will Joanna go for the non-swimmer who collects panties and dumps ladies at funerals or the cop magnet who has two sugar mamas and one night in Bangkok? Joanna sends... BROCK packing.

But before Andrew and Joanna can play cougar games in the back of his car, Joanna has a secret... "I live with my bounty-hunter ex-husband." Is that going to put a price on her head? Yep. She's got too much baggage. And this is from a guy who pays for sex.

Got Baggage? Want a date? Season 2 is now casting. Call 323.692.5304.

Jeopardy!

Host: Alex Trebek

Will Cathy add on to the $24,000-plus in chrome she's sitting on tonight?

Cathy Melocik
Wilder, VT
editor for a business school
$24,401
Shaun Desmond
Santa Monica, CA
marketing consultant
Cheryl Parrott
Frederick, MD
biomedical writer

Cathy starts with $200 Bruce Springsteen. At the TV timeout, she leads with $4000 to Cheryl's $2200. Shaun is on $1800.

Cathy finds the Daily Double under $1000 Food Science. She bets $1200 on this: from the French for "sour wine", this liquid will go bad over time, so it should be stored in a cool, dark place. "What is vinegar?" Correct for $9000! At the half, she's up over $10,000 with $10,800 to Cheryl's $3600. Shaun has $2000 and the first pick in Double Jeopardy!...

... with $400 Dreams of Fields. The champ is heating up with a $1500 Daily Double under $1200 The Genghis Khan Film Festival. The clue: a 1959 Japanese film about Genghis Khan starring Hashizo Okawa was titled "King of" this ethnic group. "What are the Mongols?" Correct for $17,100! Will she get the trifecta with $1600 The Novel's Last Line? $2000 says she does; here it is: "It was the... Rachel, that in her retracing search after her missing children, only found another orphan." ... Nothing. No streak today. "Moby-Dick" bumps her to a still-rather-reasonable $16,300. She races back to $21,500 to Cheryl's $10,800. Shaun is still alive with $6800, but the IV is dripping.

Final Jeopardy! in "The US Military": this corps' motto is "Building Strong". Correct response: what is the Army Corps of Engineers?

Cheryl one-upped the wrong player, as Cathy wins $21,601 for a two-day take of $46,002!

We start with Catherine (Tiger Head) and Sheila (Birthday Babe), who have to deal together. Catherine starts, and she can have the envelope of Curtain #1, which says inside. She wants the curtain and passes up on $1,200. But Sheila has the curtain, which she can trade for Curtain #2, which says 'Outside'. She keeps the 'Inside' curtain and doesn't get a giant Croquet set (ZONK!). Now they are on their own, and they can trade that for the small box that Jonathan has. Neither of them want the small box, so neither of them get a trip to the Cayman Islands worth $4,731. What do they win? A new dining room worth $3,587, so not bad.

Teresa (leopard along with a life-sized picture of her nephew Alex) gets to play Before or After. The year is 1950. Twix. Teresa: Before...WRONG (1979). She doesn't win a ring worth $2,597. Next up: Sweet N Low. After? Yes (1957) so she wins his and her Smart Phones worth $1,000. Finally: Spam. Before? Yes (1937), so Teresa also wins a laptop and digital camera worth $1,680. Teresa has $2,680 worth of goodies that she can trade for Curtain #3. She will, so she's now the proud owner of a junk spa (ZONK!). Though Wayne does give Flat Alex $100 to buy a tire inflator. Heh.

James (Hero: Super Poor) will try to power himself with Curtain #1 (Clue: Ping pong paddle and ball). Wayne offers $500...$700...NO DEAL! Super Poor will instead be enjoying himself in a game room worth $3,941. The hero is triumphant!

We need 2 players next. Heather (Field Hockey Player) and Benorce (Fred Sanford in a robe) each gets curtain #1. Curtain #1 (Home) costs $300. Curtain #2 (Technology) costs $500. Curtain #3 (Vehicle) costs $700. Benorce wants none of it (thanks to wifey) and keeps the $700. So does Heather and everyone boos both of them. So home was a set of appliances worth $1,914. Technology was a junk 3-d TV (ZONK!) Wayne offers Curtain #3 one more time. Benorce still keeps the money but Heather is now not going to listen to her boyfriend and goes for the curtain. Heather now has...a Motor Scooter worth $2,999. The boyfriend approves.

Scott and Linda (Monkey and Safari Ranger) are the first couple to play. They get Time is Money for a chance at $15,000. Choices: #2, #9, #11 and #4. #4: 4 seconds. #11: 3 seconds. #2: 0 seconds. They still have $8,000, but Wayne offers them a TV and Tivo set worth $2.080 to not see the last clock. They have a TV already, so they'll go for it. The last clock...has the 15 seconds on it and they run out of money. Aw.

Debra (Aerobics Lady) gets to play prop time with Tiffany, who now has a fishing rod in front of Curtain #3. Wayne offers $500...$700...$1,000...but Debra wants the curtain. She gets a rubber raft (ZONK!) Can't do much fishing there...

...and you can't win the Big Deal of the Day, which is worth $22,875. But someone can. Who will it be?

TRADE LIST:
James: $3,941
Catherine: $3,587
Sheila: $3,587
Heather: $2,999
Benorse: $700
Teresa: A spa fit for Flat Alex
Flat Alex: $100
Scott/Linda: Out of time
Debra: Zonk-Water Rafting.

Will James trade his game room? No he won't. Will Catherine trade the dining room? Yes she will, and she selects Door #2. Behind Door #1: The Cash Vault worth $6,321. Behind her Door: Outdoor patio furniture worth $3,747. So it's a break-even deal, but it's not the Big Deal, which today was a CHEVROLET MALIBU WORTH $22,875!!! Waa waaaaa. LMAD returns with more dealing in August. See you then.
