JACKPOT: $60,000 |
|
Rosebraugh
(Zachary, Carrie, Keith, Larry, Mary Beth) |
|
Elliott (Nisha,
Nicole, Malcolm, Nina, Shannon) |
Round 1: something some
people don't take off when they go to bed (5). Zachary's
underpants beats Nisha's socks, 1 to 2. Makeup, shirts,
and jewelry sweep it for the 96.
Round 2: something most
women expect most men to be really bad at (full board).
Nicole gets the top of the board with cooking. The rest
of the fam takes chores, raising kids, and asking for
help, while the Rosebraughs go with shopping for the
steal... got it for 150. Other answers: making love,
decorating, dressing well.
Double Round: a phrase
that starts with the word "turn" (full board).
Malcolm turns around for #1. The Elliotts, though...
strike out. The Rosebraughs steal with turn off for 220.
Other answer: turn over a new leaf, turn the key, turn
your life around, turn left/right.
Triple Round: when
playing charades, name one thing people do to imitate a
dog (4). Nina barks out number one. Beg, crawl, and pant
round out the board for 285, which means we go to...
Sudden Death: who's
usually the winner in a divorce, the husband, the wife,
or the lawyer? That's Mary Beth with the preemie... "The
wife"... Not it. Shannon goes with the obvious answer...
the lawyer? It works for game, 516-220.
Nisha and Nina are 19
short of another $20,000, so we're still playing for
maybe $80,000. Monday, it's the Cerdas vs. the Elliotts.

Host: Bil Dwyer |

It's tres secretos de Mayo! First
is a 28-year vet of the post office, George Reeger! His
secret: "I have 1800 mini Disney tattoos." Jermaine gets
that it's on his chest area. Suzanne gets that something
was put on. Frank gets tattoos. Billy gets a similar
theme, but that's it. He gets dinner and $1000, and we
get his tattoos. And some that aren't even out yes! I
wonder where the "Cars" tattoos are.
Next up, from Grass
Valley, CA, here's Sandy Hall. Her secret... related to
a world championship. Suzanne helped the championship
happen. Frank gets that it was a common pet. Billy gets
dog and the way it looks. Jermaine blurts it out.
Her secret: "I own
the world's tallest dog." Gibson the Harlequin
Great Dane is 7'2" and still growing.
Blindfolds on for your
next guests, Joey, Tara, Travis, and Wilbur. Their
secret... although completely out in the open... "We are
a KISS tribute band." And the thing is? They're all
dwarves. That's right, it's Mini KISS! Frank gets that
they're normal musicians. Billy gets that they rock as
someone else. And it's all gravy from there.
Mini KISS takes us home.

Bob Collins
(restaurant manager from Melbourne, FL); $20,801 |
|
Dan McLeod
(student from Vancouver, BC) |
|
Karmie Johnson
(registered nurse from Birmingham, AL) |
¿Qué es Cinco de Mayo?
The winner of today's game is going to get a break while
the best of the best of the past year or so prove it for
the next two weeks.
Bob starts up with $200
It Happened in May. At the TV time out, Dan and Bob are
neck and neck with $2600 and $2200 respectively. Karmie
is in the red by $400.
Bob comes in contact with
a $400 Daily Double in South Dakota. He fronts his lead,
$2200, on this: Wild Bill Hickok & Calamity Jane are
buried in this city's Mount Moriah Cemetery. "What is
Deadwood?" Right for $7000. He takes the lead at $10,600
at the half, while Dan, at $1400, forgets that the
British spell "aluminum" with an extra I. Karmie, still
at -$400, starts Double Jeopardy!...
... with these
categories: Cat, O', Nein!, Tales, Hit Me, and "Ouch!"
Karmie selects $400 "Ouch!". Dan, coming alive in this
round, finds the Daily Double under $1600 O'. He wagers
$4000 on this: Britannica says that, in his time, after
Shaw & Shakespeare, this dramatist was the most
translated & produced. "Who is O'Neill?" Eugene O'Neill,
right for $12,000. Last category gives Alex a chance to
do his Arte Johnson impersonation, as Dan finds the
second Daily Double under $1600 Nein! He bets $4000
again on this: in the 1980s, as Vatican doctrinal
enforcer, the German born with this surname said no to
"liberation theology." "Who is Ratzler?" Nope, it's
Ratzinger, currently Pope Benedict XVI. He ends the
round with $15,800, but hot on his heels is Bob with
$13,400, while Karmie can ruin both of their day with
$8400.
Final Jeopardy!
in "US Presidents": had he lived in ancient
Greece, he would've been called Odysseus. Correct
question: Who is Ulysses S. Grant?
All three are right on,
so it comes to wagering. Bob bets everything... while
Dan bets a dollar more. He'll return in two weeks with
$26,801, while Bob leaves with $22,801 on the gimme.
Remember, next week the
preliminaries of the 2006 Tournament of Champions.

BONUS LINGO JACKPOT:
$10,000 |
It's Lingo de Mayo! Yep,
it's the Jason & Jacky Hernandez game today, as we reset
the jackpot. And it's hard for us to remain neutral...
so we're not even going to bother. Smoke'em nice and
proper, JD!
Jason & Jacky get an M
for MUSIC. Then they pick up FRESH, but Jason draws red.
Amy & Amy get AMIGO, but producer Amy also hits a
stopper. Jason & Jacky get WHEAT off of the stopper
pull. But Jason pulls a stopper AGAIN! The Amys get
PLAZA and BASIL, while Jason steals ROCKY. Amy squared
return the favor with CIGAR for the Lingo and the lead,
150-100.
Jason & Jacky get an H,
spending HOURS on it. Jason's definitely ball-shy about
drawing as we go to the half, with the score at 150-125,
Reds.
Second round, Jason &
Jacky come alive, start with an S for SPICE. Jacky pulls
Lingo, taking the lead, 275-150.
Amy & Amy turn a T into
THING. Left Amy has red hands, though. Jason & Jacky get
EMPTY as a result, but now it's Jacky with the red
balls. They get the draw back with BURRO. They win the
game, 375-200.
With two Bonus Lingo
letters, Jason & Jacky get PLATE, TRAIL, CHILI, ZEBRA,
GROOM, QUILT, ROAST, and LABOR at the buzzer for $800.
Eight balls. Jason says he's got the money ball of 45.
He doesn't. He's got 3. Jacky pulls Lingo on the final
draw for $5000.
Monday, the jackpot
begins to grow again.

Play. First car: a Ford Focus. Choices: $14,251 or
$17,980? He goes with $14,251... YES! The car was

with $24,980... NO! It's $22,094.
Gloria Feralio hopes to get
us back on the winning team with a set of crystal
stemware worth $1680. We couldn't give her a car, but
what about cash? $10,000, to be exact, in 1/2 off. She
knocks out half with an espresso maker and gumball lamp,
and another half with a food scale and wireless
headphones. That leaves 3, 5, 10, and 16. She goes for
box 10.... Nothing. It was box 16.
Newlywed Evelyn Justice
escapes the hot spot as well thanks to a $2495 HDTV. Now
she gets a chance to play with blocks for a recumbent
bicycle, a model ship, and a sofa. Block 1: model ship.
Block 2: sofa. Block 3: bike. Model ship: $999. Sofa:
$1185. Recumbent bike: $1999. Evelyn: winner and off to
the Showcase.
Ciara breaks the skid
with a $1440 set of his & hers golf equipment. She plays
Double Prices for a hot tub. Is it $10,550 or $9495? She
goes with $9495... Another winner!
Chris Baumler gets into
Contestants' Row and gets out a round later thanks to a
$489 convection oven. He gets a shot at Ford Escape.
It's not $31,436. Each digit is One Away. First try:
$22,545. One... two... three honks. He switches to
$20,547. Actual price... $20,... 345. No car for him.
Last chance for Dina and
Cathy comes with a luggage set. Price: $1050. Winner of
that... and $500... Robert Willmott! He'll play for a
trip to Ireland in Bullseye. First shot: two Philips'
Milk of Magnesia, at $5.35... $10,70! BULLSEYE! We've
got a breakeven today, as Ciara takes her spot in the
Showcase.
First up: flowers for a
year, a new dining room group with dinnerware, and a
grand piano. Top winner Ciara passes to Evelyn, who bids
$24,500. Now it's on Ciara, who gets a visit from Lilly
the Leprechaun from earlier today (remember that Ireland
trip?). She offers a blower/trimmer, a trip to the Big
Island of Hawaii, and a bowrider. She prices it all at
$20,000. Actual price: $29,612. Actual price of Evelyn's
Showcase... $18,059. Over she goes, as Ciara wins
$40,587.
Stats: even, $57,781. |

It's _in_o de Mayo!
How ironic that our tribute to the Great
Outdoors is taking place indoors. Tonight's our
last show from Denver... until next week.
First up, a song
title. Payroll supporter Robin Clemons from
Aurora, CO, gets $1000 on FLY LIKE AN EAGLE.
Heidi Prince, a Denver Spanish teacher, and Todd
Ross, a Highlands Ranch post-production manager
for a cable company join up for the second
tossup, around the house. Todd fires... blanks.
Heidi gets $2000 in FRAMED ART PRINT.
First up,
Turkey... the trip, not the fowl. It's worth
$8000, and it's on the Wheel. Place is the
category for our first spin round. Heidi scores
a Free Spin off of two Rs. She'll use it after
an impressive run. She uses up all of the vowels
solving U.S. OLYMPIC TRAINING CENTER for $2950
now, $4950 total.
Gold Bond
Ultimate Jackpot Prize Puzzle is a Thing. Todd
gets a $1000 Goode Ski GC. Robin picks up a
$1000 Body Glove CG, as she solves SAND BETWEEN
YOUR TOES for that, $1450, and a trip to a beach
of some sort... maybe like in Antigua? And if
you've got Wheel Watcher Spin ID RB 11193,
you're going to Antigua, too (with $50 grand if
you have a Sony card). She's up to $8550.
The Pat Sajak
cutout says win $10,000 in the Mystery Round,
The 90s. Todd gets two Ks after landing in
Mystery Territory. Will he risk $3200 for a
peek? Yes! Does he have $10,000? No! Does Pat do
a good Howie Mandel impersonation? Sorry...
Here's a puzzle for the hometown crowd. Robin
picks up $1000 from Altrec.com solving BRONCOS
WIN BACK-TO-BACK SUPER BOWLS for $12,600 so
far...
Living Thing is
the $3000 tossup, as Heidi gets a COCKER
SPANIEL, $7950 total. Next puzzle is a Phrase as
Pat spins out $1600. Todd picks up another $8000
with IT COMES WITH THE TERRITORY.
But it's Robin
and her $12,600 in swag that's heading to Bonus
Land. Given Phrase, the standard package, and
the add-ons of DPMA, we get...
_ _ _ N
_ A N D S
She got HANDS,
but we all JOIN HANDS, as she loses out on
$30,000, but $12,600 ain't too bad.
Next week, we get
Mom in the act.

Who
Wants to Be a Millionaire by Don Harpwood, GSNN

Host: Meredith Vieira |

Another week at Walt Disney
World is coming to a close, and Pam Peck (Port
Charlotte, FL) is hoping to give it a strong finish. She
is at $50,000, with 2 lifelines left...
Before they get going, Pam and Meredith each put on one
of those hats with mouse ears, but these aren't
ordinary; Pam's is golden, and Meredith's is sparkly. It
looks like both are meant to commemorate WDW's 50th
anniversary. Here's hoping they both bring a lot of good
luck today, as the game resumes...
[$100,000]
The word "nerd" first appeared in print as a character's
name in a work by what author?
A: Mark Twain
B: Dr. Seuss
C: Jonathan Swift
D: Lewis Carroll
Pam calls her son, Byron, and he says he's positive that
it's B. Pam trusts him... and it's B! On to the next
one...
[$250,000]
In the 1950s, Teflon pioneer Marc Grègoire first made
use of the nonstick substance on what?
A: Hockey pucks
B: Roller skate wheels
C: Playground equipment
D: Fishing tackle
Pam immediately switches the question. After seeing that
it was D, she then faces this...
[$250,000] (Q)
Bluetooth, a wireless technology used to link mobile
devices, is named for a former king of what country?
A: Belgium
B: Germany
C: Denmark
D: Austria
Pam has no idea, so she decides to walk. The answer was
C, but it doesn't matter to her; she has $100,000!
In the hot seat now is Dante Constable (Davie, FL). He's
a rock musician, and he's wearing a shiny silver shirt,
which he last wore at a Millennium New Year's Eve gig.
Now, he originally auditioned in NYC, but didn't pass.
But a few weeks later, he saw an advertisement for some
place that seemed like a million-dollar bill. That
inspired him to audition again, this time when they were
at Miami. He passed, and now he's here! With that, Dante
starts by knowing that in a 2005 speech, Al Gore said he
had "absolutely no plans" to ever run for President
again. He sweeps the lower tier, and is on a roll going
into this...
[$25,000]
What U.S. state is bordered by Iowa to the north and
Arkansas to the south?
A: Kansas
B: Illinois
C: Oklahoma
D: Missouri
The 50:50 leaves C and D. Dante says D... and he has
$25,000! To the upper tier, now...
[$50,000]
In NASCAR racing, how many cars traditionally start in
each race?
A: 33
B: 43
C: 53
D: 63
Dante doesn't follow NASCAR, so he asks the audience.
Both polls favour B (52% of the studio audience; 38% of
the AIM users). Dante trusts them... and they're right!
Moving on...
[$100,000]
Which of the following is not a character in Madeleine
L'Engle's classic children's book "A Wrinkle in Time"?
A: Mrs. Whynot
B: Mrs. Which
C: Mrs. Whatsit
D: Mrs. Who
Dante decides to switch it out. Once the answer is
revealed to be A, this substitute question pops up...
[$100,000] (Q)
Which of these presidents was not born before President
John F. Kennedy?
A: Richard Nixon
B: Gerald Ford
C: Jimmy Carter
D: Ronald Reagan
Dante goes for it, saying C... and he's right! Still
going...
[$250,000]
What element, like water, has an unusual physical
property that causes it to expand when it freezes?
A: Silicon
B: Polonium
C: Bismuth
D: Fluorine
Dante is leaning towards A, but he's not sure enough, so
he calls his brother, Michael. Unfortunately, he doesn't
give an answer in time. Nonetheless, Dante decides to
trust his gut feeling! He locks in A as his final
answer... but he's wrong! It's C! Ouch... Well, at least
he heads home with $25,000!
That will do it for this week. See ya on Monday! |
