I've
Got a Secret by Chico Alexander, GSNN
Air time: 11:30p ET/10:30p CT on GSN
Host: Bil Dwyer |
|
|
GSN can't seem to get their
TV ratings bugs in order...
First up, a grandfather of
two, Bernie Barker. His secret: "I am the world's oldest
male stripper." Jermaine gets that it is physical, but
not involving lifting. And it is of a sexual nature.
Suzanne... gets all hot thinking about it. Frank gets
that age is a factor. Billy is close with the nude
thing. Bernie gets dinner and $1000, and we get as much
a show as can be shown on late-night basic cable.
Next, blindfolds on for
Angeleno Will Belai. His... err.. her... err.. Will's
secret... "dressed up and came out a winner." Suzanne
gets that it involves a full-body costume. Frank
gets that he "cross-dressed for success", meaning that
he is indeed a man. His costume: a famous TV star. Billy
gets that it is currently on TV between 40 and 50.
Jermaine gets an actress... but that's it.
His secret: "I won a
Desperate Housewives look-alike contest." As Nicolette
Sheridan.
Final game of the night.
From New York City, here's Rob Law! His secret: "I can
smash a watermelon with my head." Frank gets that it can
be shown in family hour. Billy gets that it is physical.
Jermaine gets the breaking with the head aspect. Suzanne
gets food. Suzanne gets THE food.
We end the show with Rob
doing his Gallagher's hammer impersonation.

Jeopardy! by
Chico Alexander, GSNN
Air time: Check listings or

Host: Alex Trebek |
|
|
Don Minyard
(forensic accountant from Hoover, AL); $15,300 |
|
Fred Schultz
(database programmer from Albuquerque, NM) |
|
Lisa Izes
(rabbi from New York City) |
First of all, big
congrats to Jeopardy! for pulling its own Daily Double,
winning Daytime Emmys for the show and its host, Alex
Trebek.
Don starts up with $200
The "Fac"s of Life. At the TV time out, it's Fred's
game, as he leads, $3000 to Don's $800. Lisa can't seem
to get off that zero mark.
Fred finds the Daily
Double under $600 Who's the Boss?. He risks $1800 on
this: the Kansas City political machine of boss Tom
Pendergast launched the career of this future President.
"Who is Truman?" Right for $5600. That's where he'll end
the round, as Don comes up behind him with $3000. Lisa,
at $1600, starts up Double Jeopardy!...
... with $400 Movie
Quotes. Don finds the first Daily Double under $1600 New
York Times Obituaries. Slipping into $1400, Don bets the
max of $2000 on this: in a 1936 obit a pupil said of
her, "I pray for strength to endure the silent dark
until she smiles upon me again." "Who is Anne Sullivan?"
Right for $3400. Don also finds the one under $1200 I'll
Have a B_L_T. "I'm going to wager a true Daily Double,
$5800." For $11,600 or nothing... Lincoln famously
compared these 2 items, saying one was "stronger than"
the other. "What is the ballot is stronger than the
bullet?" ... Correct for $11,600! All of a sudden, we
have a game with Don at $13,200, Fred at $20,400, and
Lisa at $5200.
Final Jeopardy!
in "Africa": in November 2005 leaders of Spain
& France joined in celebrating the 50th anniversary of
this country's independence. Correct question: What is
Morocco?
All three are wrong, but
Fred bets enough to leave him as champion with $14,399.
Don leaves with $17,300. |

The
Price is Right by Chico Alexander, GSNN
Air time: 11a ET/10a CT on CBS
(markets may vary)
Host: Bob Barker |
|
|
We're starting this with a
range game... well, a range, anyway. Suzanne Gates,
Kathleen Hughes, Aaron Gutzmann, and Jennifer Thornberry
get a shot at it, but it's Suzanne who cooks with the
$949 appliance. And if she thought that was easy, then
winning golf equipment, a wall clock, and a daybed with
sleep set should be Eazy as 1-2-3. In this case, 1 is
the clock, 2 is the daybed, and 3 is the golf equipment.
The clock is $1099. The daybed is $2894. The golf
equipment is... $2011.
Jennifer wins a keyboard
worth $900. But will she take away a Jeep Wrangler? Each
number is One Away. It isn't $28,745. First try:
$19,856. One... two... three... honks. Three right. So
we go to $17,836. Actual price: $19,834.
Wilma Cowan gets a set of
cookware worth $2295. But can she convert into $10,000?
The game is Punch-a-Bunch. She earns punches from an O
Cedar mop ($12, higher than $8), a disco ball lamp ($11,
higher than $7), and a cookie jar ($36, lower than $46).
Now to the punching. She gets $100, throws it back, then
gets $1000, and keeps it. Good timing, as she would've
ended up with $500.
She's not the only one
who wins money, as Jennifer spins out $1000 on the Big
Wheel.
Aubrie Scott is down and
up thanks to a $975 pendant. Now to the matter of a
gazebo playing Double Prices. Is it $6800 or $5100? She
goes with $6800... win!
Li'l Fran, Frances Dixon,
wins a $1973 cast iron stove. Now how about a trip to
Spain? It's all a matter of hitting the Bullseye. The
products: Campbell's cream of mushroom soup, Glad
Press'n'Seal, Carapelli olive oil, Purina Cat Chow, and
Birdseye steamed broccoli. She goes with 5 Glad wraps...
each one is $2.99. Woops. She goes with eight soups,
$1.02 a pop, means she hits the target at $8.16.
Finally, she goes with one olive oil at $5.49. Where's
the hidden Bullseye? Under the olive oil!
Last chance for both
Aaron and Kathleen with a $999 wine cooler on the line.
Winner... Aaron! He gets a shot at a Pontiac Grand Prix.
All he has to do is say when That's Too Much! He thinks
$21,962 is Too Much! And That's... Too Short. Next one
up is $24,870. That's too much for a $23,105 car. But he
does win a heated spinoff by getting 85 to Aubrie's 70
and Frances' 80.
First in the Showcase:
how a heroine negotiated her way out of a famous giant
ape's grip. She used small appliances, a hot air balloon
adventure in Colorado, and a Lincoln Town Car. He was
sold at the car. Top winner Suzanne bids $40,300. Time
to head to the Priceless Train Depot, where Chugs
delivers a plasma TV, a dinette, and a waverunner. Aaron
bids $15,000. Actual price: $17,880, a difference of
$2880. Actual price of Suzanne's Showcase: $50,074. Had
she gone just $10,000 more, she would've won it all, but
Aaron takes away $18,919.
Stats: $2-3-1, $41,602. |

Time for one final
adventure before the weekend, as we start this
Wheel off with a Tossup, On the Menu. Order of
BONELESS BUFFALO WINGS and $1000 to Baninder, a
teacher from East Brunswick, NJ. Joining her is
Ron Azbell, a semi-retired payroll accountant from
Chillicothe, IL, and Twila Masachi, a mother of
two (with #3 on the way) from Loganville, GA.
Second tossup is a
Place. Ron fires with LAS VEGAS SHOWROOM for
$2000. Now how's this for adventure, river rafting
in Patagonia, Chile worth $9900! The category: Fun
& Games. Ron gets $2500 from a T and an N. He
solves SKIING THE ROCKIES for $6900 cash money,
$8900 total.
Speaking of which,
Wheel spins into Denver on Monday. Look forward to
that. Also look forward to Pat changing ties in
the commercial, although for this next Brandsource
Jackpot Prize Puzzle, he'll be going casual Friday
on us... So, uhh... what's the category again? Oh,
In the Kitchen. Excellent. Speaking of excellent,
Baninder spins about $10,500 for three S's. She
solves HOME ESPRESSO MACHINE for $11,650 AND a
trip to Italy! And you'll be going to Italy, too,
if your Wheel Watcher Spin ID is... CL 06717
($50,000 extra if you've got that Sony Card
handy). So far, Baninder's got $20,950.
There's an ultimate
adventure waiting if you score $10,000 in the
Mystery Round. The category is Before & After.
Twila spins out $3500 for an S. But she loses it
to the black wedge. Baninder solves SHELF LIFE OF
THE PARTY for another $4350. So far, $25,300.
$3000 Tossup are
Things. Ron finds FRIENDLY FACES for $3000 more.
He's got $11,900 and first spinning rights for
this Phrase. Twila solves YOU DRIVE A HARD BARGAIN
for $1150.
Not too good of a
total, so let's get another puzzle up! It's an
Event. Baninder spins out $5000. She guesses R...
Two of 'em. She solves RENAISSANCE FAIR for
$10,550 more, giving her $35,850!
How about another
round? It's a Person. After Baninder gets two
letters up, we go into Speed Round with $1600 a
consonant. Twila solves ONE OF THE GANG for $3200.
She'll take home $4350. Ron takes $11,900...
But Baninder takes
all of her $35,850 to Bonus Land, where she gets a
Thing. Given the usual six and MDAC...
_ _ _ _ L E
_ R A _
She can't get a
BUBBLE WRAP round it... and it's a crying shame,
too, because guess what she has... $100,000. But
it's hard not to be disappointed when you're going
to Italy with $35,850.

Who
Wants to Be a Millionaire by Don Harpwood, GSNN
Air time: Check listings or
millionairetv.com
Host: Meredith Vieira |

As this week at Walt Disney
World wraps up, Cris Benitez (Shirley, NY) is at the
$2,000 level, and wants more...
Cris is an assistant principal, and he likes to carry a
bullhorn around while on the job. He's normally a tough
cookie, but recently, he showed a softer side of himself
to the rest of the school staff when he found out that
he would be in the hot seat. And now that he's there, he
can resume the game...
[$4,000]
On a man's jacket, "notch" and "peak" are two common
styles of what?
A: Cuffs
B: Lapels
C: Buttons
D: Pinstripes
Cris decides to call his brother-in-law, Tony, and he
thinks it's B. Since he didn't sound too sure, Cris then
uses the 50:50, which leaves A and B. He then goes for
it, saying B... and he's right! He then tackles a couple
of questions on his own, before facing this...
[$25,000]
The registration number NCC-1701 is displayed on the
exterior of what fictional vehicle?
A: Herbie the Love Bug
B: Batmobile
C: USS Enterprise
D: Millennium Falcon
He has an inkling that it might be D, but he decides to
walk with $16,000. Good thing, too; it was C.
Next in the hot seat, brought in by Goofy, is Sally Fox
(Savannah, GA). She started out in the news business,
but a mid-life crisis had her dropping out of it. She's
now getting into art. So, she could probably use this
money. Sally starts by knowing that people who are said
to hear "the pitter-patter of little feet" are blessed
with children (though if they wind up with gnomes
instead, that would be weird). She sweeps the lower
tier, then eventually gets to this...
[$8,000]
The Earth's equator passes through which of these
continents?
A: North America
B: Europe
C: Antarctica
D: Africa
The 50:50 leaves B and D. Sally says D... and she's
right! Moving on...
[$16,000]
During the historic 2005 elections in Iraq, voters'
fingertips were dyed what color to prevent multiple
voting?
A: Red
B: Green
C: Purple
D: Black
Sally asks the audience, and both polls favour C (72% of
the studio audience; 47% of the AIM users). Sally trusts
them... and they're right! Now, to complete the middle
tier...
[$25,000]
Citing the "twinkle in his eye," who did People magazine
choose as the Sexiest Man Alive in 2005?
A: Vince Vaughn
B: Matthew McConaughey
C: Patrick Dempsey
D: Matthew Fox
Sally is pretty sure that it's B... and she has $25,000!
That's all for this week. They'll remain at WDW next
week, and Sally will start going through the upper tier
on Monday. |
