Rainey (Kyle, Brian, Laura, Angela, Darin); $20,000
Pomano (Kelly, Holli, Heather, Hailey, Mary)

The Raineys, fresh off their Fast Money win, welcome their first challengers today, three generations of Pomano family.

Round 1: something you would never buy used (6). Kyle fires... Bed is #3. Kelly goes with car... #2. Holli gets #1, clothing. Computer and TV also make it. The Raineys go with furniture... Not there, Pomanos get 84! Other answer: toothbrush.

Round 2: something a person does to steady their nerves before a job interview (5). Holli controls the board with "breathe deeply", #2. Hailey gets #5, practice. Mary takes a drink of coffee for #3. It's going to the Raineys again. They go with smoking for the steal... It's good for 45. Other answer: meditate/pray.

(C-Note: smoking causes lung disease, cancer, emphysema, heart disease, premature aging, and chronic halitosis. Kids, smoking is wrong. Don't start. And if you do start, quit now. The life you save may be your own).

Double Round: a sport you'd rather watch than play (5). Laura gets #2, basketball. Angela gets #4, tennis. Darin: "Number one answer.. football..." Called! Baseball and hockey complete the sweep for 227.

Triple Round: something you have to stop for when you're traveling in your car (4). Hailey gets number one, the light. Gas... the WC... and directions? The Raineys hope so... NO! It was pedestrians! Pomanos win, 318-227.

Hailey and Holli go to the Fast Money board, and end up with 151 for $755.

Jeopardy! by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or jeopardy.com
Host: Alex Trebek
Randy Logan (high school English teacher from Mesquite, TX); $31,200, two days
Brett Crawford (attorney from Rockville, MD)
Chris Smith (advertising creative director from Dallas)

It's been a long time come, but Randy has broken the two-game barrier. Will he be game for a third?

Also, I thought that Chris looked a bit familiar, so I went into the GSNN Primes log and dug this up...

Chris Smith, from Super Millionaire, 2004

Chris Smith, from Jeopardy!, last Friday

He was on Super Millionaire, where he won $100,000. Even wearing the same shirt from that fateful May night in 2004. It may be the same person.. It may not be. All I'm saying until someone confirms it is that there is a likelihood... But back to Randy. He starts with $200 Golly "G"! And golly gee, at the break, Randy's in second with $2400 to Brett's $2800. Chris has $1200.

Brett finds the Daily Double under $800 23 Skidoo. He bets $2000 on this: Governor Al Smith of this state signed a repeal of the state's Prohibition Enforcement Act, angering the feds. "What is New York?" Right for $5800. He ends the round with $6800, while Chris and Randy are tied for second with $2800.

Player closes to Alex starts Double Jeopardy!... That's you, Randy. He starts with $400 Literature. Chris finds the first Daily Double under $1600 All That Jazz. He fronts $2000 on this: this bop saxophonist's 1946 tune Ornithology" became a jazz standard. "Who is Charlie Parker?" Correct for $3600 and the tie with Randy! He also takes the second Daily Double under $1200 -Isms. He bets $3500 on the practices of some extreme Protestants of the Reformation Era; or any moral strictness. "What is Puritanism?" Correct for $8300 and the lead! He ends up with $15,900 after a late-round rally to Randy's $8000 and Brett's $6800.

Final Jeopardy! in "Historic Documents": clause 39 of this reads "No freeman shall be taken, or imprisoned... except by the legal judgment of his peers". Correct question: What is the Magna Carta?

Brett is right... but Chris only wagered a Benjamin and a Washington to win with $15,799. Randy, who lost everything on the Emancipation Proclamation, leaves with $32,200.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or millionairetv.com
Host: Meredith Vieira
Yesterday, Julie Rifaat (Houston, TX) reached $50,000, but she has no more lifelines left. If she wants to win more, she'll have to do it on her own...

She has 3 kids (18, 15, and 12), one of which was the Phone-a-Friend yesterday. The 18-year-old had just applied to Pepperdine, so this money will really come in handy. Now, let's see if she can make even more, as the game resumes...

[$100,000]
On May 20, 1937, Amelia Earhart began her ill-fated attempt to fly around the world from what U.S. city?
A: Oakland
B: Cleveland
C: Kansas City
D: Philadelphia

Julie doesn't want to take a guess at this point, so she walks. After seeing that it was A, Julie heads outta there $50,000 richer!

Next up is Johnny Andris (Louisville, KY). He would like to reunite with his best buddy, but not yet. Why? Because Johnny owes him $40. He's been doing his best to avoid his buddy until he has the money. So, he's here to make that $40, and then some. Johnny starts by knowing that for public safety, a swimming pool, when unattended, is commonly required to display a sign that reads "No lifeguard on duty". He completes the lower tier (ensuring that he has the $40 that he owes his buddy), then soon after, he gets to this...

[$4,000]
Often spread by mosquitoes, encephalitis is a dangerous disease characterized by the inflammation of what organ?
A: Stomach
B: Liver
C: Heart
D: Brain

Johnny decides to ask the audience. An overwhelming 85% of the studio audience says D, with only 7% saying B. However, 45% of the AIM users say B, with 26% saying D. Johnny decides to trust the 85% of the studio audience... and they're right! Moving on...

[$8,000]
What animated character's lopsided head was inspired by an old hairdo worn by the creator's father?
A: Popeye
B: Gumby
C: Daffy Duck
D: Bullwinkle

Johnny has an idea as to what it could be, but he's not 100% sure, so he decides to use the 50:50. A and B remain. He then says B... and he's right! Next question...

[$16,000]
In 2005, a Russian astrologer filed a $300 million lawsuit against what U.S. agency for interfering with her horoscope?
A: EPA
B: FBI
C: NASA
D: CIA

Johnny calls his father John, who says C, but isn't positive. Because of the uncertainty, Johnny decides to walk. Turns out that it was indeed C. Oh well; Johnny is leaving with $8,000 (it'll be $7,960 after paying the money he owes his buddy).

Now in the hot seat is Jamie Nesvold (Fosston, MN). He's been a radio announcer for 10 years, and yet, he has a bit of stage fright. Mainly because of all the eyes staring at him. Hopefully, it won't mess with his game, here. Jamie starts by knowing that by definition, a "gofer" is an employee whose duties include running errands (finding Nemo is probably best left to talking fish in a movie). He sweeps the lower tier, then after a few more questions, he faces this...

[$16,000]
Due to its cross-shaped flower petals, which of these healthy veggies is classified as a "cruciferous" vegetable?
A: Onion
B: Broccoli
C: Beet
D: Carrot

Jamie asks the audience, and both polls favour B (65% of studio; 37% of AIM). He trusts them... and they're right! 6 away from the million now, and here's the next one...

[$25,000]
A tourist-friendly promenade called the "Fremont Street Experience" aims to revitalize what city's downtown?
A: Pittsburgh
B: Miami
C: Los Angeles
D: Las Vegas

Jamie calls his buddy David, who wants to say A, but isn't sure. Jamie then decides to use the 50:50. Guess what? A is gone. C and D remain. That certainly makes his decision easier; though he was thinking D, he walks. Looks like it was D. But hey, he does have $16,000!

And that's all for this week. According to wwtbam.biz, Millionaire will be in reruns for the next 3 weeks. So, see ya after the break!
