Today is

Jeopardy! by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or jeopardy.com
Host: Alex Trebek
Marah Eakin (publicist from Brooklyn, NY); $8800
Samantha Kaji (supervisor from Chilliwack, BC)
Steve Toffler (travel marketing executive from Boca Raton, FL)

Two days removed from the Teen Tourney, and we're playing musical champions again. The newest in a chain of champs, Marah, starts with $200 A Side of Bacon. Steve gets that one... and the Daily Double under $600 Out West. Steve, with $1000, bets half on the largest lake in the US west of the Rockies. "What is Lake Mead?" Nope, it's the Great Salt Lake, as he drops to $500. He recovers to take the lead, $2900 to Samantha's $1800. Marah, not too far behind with $1600, starts Double Jeopardy!...

...with $400 A La Française. Samantha finds the first Daily Double under $1200 Literary Subtitles. $300 behind, she bets $2000. The clue: Helen Prejean: "An Eyewitness Account of the Death Penalty in the United States". "What is 'Dead Man Walking'?" Right for $5000! She also finds the second under $2000 The Elements. She wagers the level here: these 2 elements were named for substances they were first separated out of--potash and soda ash. "What are potassium and sodium?" Got it for $15,400. She ends in the catbird seat with $19,000 to Marah's $9200 and Steve's $2900.

Final Jeopardy! in "The Solar System": the 2 planets in our solar system that have atmospheres made up mostly of carbon dioxide. Correct question: What are Venus and Mars?

Steve is the only one who got it right, but Samantha's the only one to return tomorrow as she loses only $100 to win with $18,900. Marah leaves with $10,800.

The Price is Right by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  11a ET/10a CT on CBS (markets may vary)
Host: Bob Barker
We start this day in history with Veronica Barrios, Sandra Inman, Kevin Horton, Anna McMurtrey, and an LCD TV. Retails about $2799. Veronica gets it for free. Now she has a chance at a sofa... or maybe a Dodge Dakota! Either way, that TV's going somewhere. Of course, she could always end up with some pink piece of clay with four legs. It's time to play Any Number. First number in the truck... 2. Next: 5... Sofa. 3 and 4... Piggy bank. 8... The truck! 7... Sofa... 1 and 9... Truck! Last pick is a 6... It's in the truck!

Sandra takes a $969 fireplace in round 2, but we hope she doesn't use it to burn the $10,000 she could win on the Punchboard. She takes three prizes (cordless phone, margarita blender, and "Lady & The Tramp"--now available on DVD!). First punch... $50. She takes it back and gets 10 times that, $500. She gives it back... and Bob shows her another $500 ticket. That's all she ends up with today.

Cleta Kirkland, meanwhile, is a one-round wonder, winning a $765 set of snowboard equipment. Now Cleta Steps Up to Step Up for a pair of air bikes, a dinette set, a Donkey Kong/Donkey Kong Jr./Mario Bros. cabinet game, and a modular gearbox. Not to mention up to $3000! She takes the gearbox first at $480. Then comes the $1399 air bikes! That's worth $500. But that's as far as she goes. Had she gone further, she would've earned another prize and another $1000. And speaking of moving on, that's what Veronica does, as she scores 85 on the Wheel.

Vicki Goyetche steps into the yellow hot spot and gets a wine refrigerator worth $889. She can win a catamaran if she can guess which of the Double Prices, either $5165 or $4395, is right. She goes with $5165... and it's $4365. Darn.

Anna gets her shot on stage thanks to a necklace worth $1175. Now she can win a piano playing Now... or Then. Now... February 2006. Then... September 1996. The wheel: Cascade dishwashing gel ($3.09), Capzasin P ($12.99), Capri Sun ($2.29), Garlique ($8.99), Super Poligrip ($3.55), and Gold Bond Ultimate lotion ($8.90). She starts with the Garlique, saying now.. It's NOW! She thinks the drinks are now... THEN. She thinks the Poligrip is then... NOW. She needs to get the next three right to win. Starting with the lotion, she says now. NOW! She says then on the gel... THEN! She says now on the Capzasin... NOW! A come-from-behind win!

Last chance for Kevin with a game table. Actual price... $600. Winner... Jennifer Black. She rolls the dice for a Chevrolet Cobalt. First number... 1. She rolls 3 next... higher. She rolls 6...  lower. She rolls 2... higher. She rolls 3... higher. The actual price... 14,354! That's a win! Jennifer also wins in the Showcase Showdown, spinning 65.

First in the Showcase: a new bedroom with sleep set, security system, and a hot tub. Top winner Veronica passes to Jennifer, who tags it at $15,000. Meanwhile, Veronica gets a visit from Polly the spacey painter, who was working with her iPod, thinking about a trip to Monte Carlo, and thinking about a cruise of Tahiti. Veronica bids $18,000. Actual price: $15,673. If she took Jennifer's bid, she would've only been off by $673. If Jennifer took Veronica's bid, she'd only be off $945, because it was $18,945. Other than that, it's a win for Jennifer, as she won $33,899 in prizes.

Stats: 3-2-1, $61,429.

Wheel of Fortune by Chico Alexander, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or wheeloffortune.com
Hosts: Pat Sajak & Vanna White
Welcome Aboard to Wednesday from Ft. Lauderdale!

First toss-up is On the Map. Loren Beer, an engaged student from Miami, takes a trip to THE CAYMAN ISLANDS for $1000. Joining her is Jeremy Fry, a mechanic from Lake in the Hills, IL, and Joy Young, a barista from Biloxi, MS.

Second tossup coming, it's Fun & Games. Jeremy locks in $2000 with WATER POLO, and we lock in a cruise of the Mexican Riviera worth $4358. First puzzle is SAME NAME. Joy gets a luggage from Ricardo Beverly Hills, as she solves BERMUDA & LOVE TRIANGLE for $1850.

Worldwinner.com Jackpot Round is an Event... and it's a Prize Puzzle! Joy lands on the Jackpot Wedge, but it's too early to claim it. Joy gobbles up all the vowels as she solves TOURING A MEDIEVAL CASTLE for $3900... and a trip to Prague! And if you're Spin ID DS09519, you're also on your way to the Czech Republic! So far, she's got $12,806.

Mystery Cash in the Mystery Round, $10,000 to be exact. On the Menu, the category. Loren takes all the vowels out of the equation as she solves JUMBO STONE CRABS WITH MUSTARD SAUCE for $9450.

Next week, a tie-in with Wheel's SoapNet Week. Check the site for details. Meanwhile, we're back with another Tossup, Around the House. Loren installs BAY WINDOWS for $3000. Occupation is the next puzzle, and Loren leads off. But it's Jeremy's time to shine now... until he hits Bankrupt. After Loren gets a few letters, it's a $1300 Final Spin. She solves WHOLESALE FLORIST for $3150, making her the big winner with $16,600 in cash! Jeremy leaves with $2000, while Joy has $12,806.

Can Loren cash in the Bonus Wheel? The puzzle: Phrase. Given the standard package and HDG O, we get...

_ _ L _   T H E
_ L _ N _

Nothing... She has to WALK THE PLANK for today's show, but she does so with $16,600 all in money. Had she won, though... she would've been $30,000 richer.

Who Wants to Be a Millionaire by Don Harpwood, GSNN

Air time:  Check listings or millionairetv.com
Host: Meredith Vieira
Ah, there's nothing like going to the local theater and watching a good movie. Of course, there are those who know a lot about movies, and some of them have a shot at making a lot of money because of it, as Million Dollar Movie Week continues...

Starting the day in the hot seat is Ian Yanong (Aurora, IL). He loves watching movies at home so much, he actually cried when his wife gave him a new TV set! When they got engaged, he kept asking for a new TV until he got one. Heck, his wife, Gail, who is in the audience, said that he took pictures with the TV! Wow, talk about obsessed! Anyway, Ian starts by knowing that movie character surnames Dolittle, Strangelove, and Zhivago share the title of Doctor. Soon after, he gets to this...

[$300]
Movies belonging to what film genre are traditionally set in the late 19th century?
A: Sword and sandals
B: Romance
C: Film noir
D: Western

Ian says B... but he's wrong! It's D! And unfortunately, that means Ian has gone the way of the L-L-A-M-A, going home with Z-I-L-C-H.

Let's hope Steve Striegel (Seattle, WA) does better. He was once a waiter, but he chose to quit his job to become a stay-at-home dad. And he hopes that his 3 boys will become filmmakers someday. So if he wins enough money here, he plans to buy filmmaking equipment for them! Awww... It also turns out that in the 4th grade, he was friends with Sean Penn! This oughta be interesting, then... Steve starts by knowing that in a climactic scene from the "Star Wars" movies, Darth Vader reveals himself to be Luke's father (maybe he was a Secret Santa at one point; I don't know). He thankfully makes it through the lower tier, then after a break, we are reminded that all players this week each get a 1-year subscription to Netflix, and all audience members this week each get a 3-month subscription. Then, after a couple more questions (the $4,000 question featured a clip from "The Shawshank Redemption"), this comes up...

[$8,000]
In the 1989 movie "Heathers," the trend-setting Heathers spend much of their time playing which of these games?
A: Croquet
B: Field hockey
C: Horseshoes
D: Tennis

Steve asks the audience. 50% of the studio audience and 36% of the AIM users say A. Steve trusts them... and they're right! Another question later, and he faces this one...

[$25,000]
Ron O'Neal stars as Youngblood Priest, a criminal who "sticks it to the man," in which of these blaxploitation-era films?
A: Dolemite
B: Cotton Comes to Harlem
C: Superfly
D: The Mack

Steve thinks about it for a bit. Though he is reminded that he still has a couple of lifelines available, he eventually decides to take the gamble, going with C... and he has $25,000! Moving on...

[$50,000]
An overlook at what national park provides the name and a setting for Michelangelo Antonioni's 1970 movie "Zabriskie Point"?
A: Bryce Canyon
B: Yosemite
C: Death Valley
D: Badlands

Steve is only sure of one that it isn't, so he uses the 50:50, which leaves B and C. It turns out that the one that he is sure it isn't is still there, so he goes with the other choice, saying C... and he's right!

Steve still has 2 lifelines, and 4 questions to go. Will he win a million dollars? We'll find out tomorrow.

And yes, I gotta mention the sweepstakes at www.netflix.com/Millionaire again. If you want a 20" widescreen LCD TV with a built-in DVD player, and you live in the U.S., go ahead and point your browser at that site, and enter the contest!
