Burton is decked out luau-style
because one of eight families can win up to $130,000 and a trip to
Hawaii on Family Feud's annual winner-take-all Tournament of
Champions! So far, the pot is at $50,000, and the Rambos await the
winner of the next two games. The Abdullahs await the winner of
this one...

Stewart
(Janet, Tolenia, Raymael, Sharon, Robert) |
|
Lopez (Miguel,
Jose, Iliana, Ana, Gabriel) |
|
JACKPOT: $50,000 |
Round 1: something that
people do at home on a Saturday night if they can't
afford to go out (6).
Janet fires with #1, watch a movie. Relax, eat dinner,
make love, have friends over, and play games round out
the sweep for 99.
Round 2: something that
makes it harder for a mailman to deliver the mail (5).
Tolenia fires again with dogs... number one! They also
get weather and fences. The Lopezes try stamps for the
steal... Not there! The Stewarts get 185! Other answers:
carrying packages, nobody home.
Double Round: something
you do when you're blue that makes you feel better (5).
Iliana: "I drink." Number five. Raymael: "I eat." Number
three! Janet goes shopping... number one! Tolentia tries
friends... Strike three. The Lopezes try stealing with
going for a drive. No! The Stewarts have 255.
Other answers: listen to music, cry.
Triple Round: when you
arrive in heaven, who do you think will be there to
greet you (4)? Sharon: "JESUS!" Number 2, alongside God.
Ana tries St. Peter... number 3. Robert gets a family
member for #1! Will Gabriel blow his horn for the game?
He and all the other angels, yes! The Stewarts win this
one in a shutout, 534-0.
Meanwhile, you know we'll
be back for next year, so why not try out? Call
323-762-8467 or log onto familyfeud.com. Who knows, you
might find yourself playing in one of these here
tourneys!
Janet & Tolenia try to
add another $20,000 to that jackpot. Janet only delivers
56 points on her first half. Thanks to "a food that you
can buy already sliced" (lunch meat), "something
associated with Christopher Columbus" (his boats, but #1
was discovering America), and "something you do to pass
the time on an airplane" (read), Tolenia delivers
another $20,000, giving the Jackpot $70,000! Monday,
it's the Abdullahs vs. the Stewarts for the right to
play the Rambos! |

You know, it's always a
special day on TPIR, but this one just happens to be a
bit more special. You'll see why during round 2. For
now, though, let's meet Chason Battaglia, Jennifer
Ehrlich, Jennifer Garnier, and Ricardo Marquez. Now
let's see a keyboard worth $1295. The winner: Ricardo,
as he heads over to Barker's Bargain Bar where he can
win a NASCAR pinball priced at $3995 and a bar set
priced at $2699. Wow. Even for bargain prices, that's
steep. Anywho... He picks out the bar set. The actual
price of the pinball: $4595, $600 difference. The actual
price of the bar set $3699, difference of $1000, and we
have a winner! And
we have an electric fireplace in round 2. It costs $999,
and hopefully Jennifer G won't use it to burn the
$16,000 she could win playing It's In the Bag... and who
should wheel out the products but the host of "America's
Next Top Model" and her own talk show, ladies and
gentlemen, Tyra Banks is in the house!
... So where were we
then? Oh yeah, the products. We've got Hot Pockets,
NewPhase, NesQuik Strawberry, Gold Bond Ultimate lotion,
Oxford index cards, and Smucker's Blackberry Jam. The
first bag: 69c. That's the index cards, easy. Second,
$15.99. That's the supplement, easy. Next, the jam at
$3.35. the lotion at $6.49, and Hot Pockets at $2.29.
Actual order... cards... supplement... jam... lotion...
Hot Pockets! Jennifer wins $16,000... and she got to
meet Tyra Banks. Lucky kid.
Shirley Stokes wins a
trampoline worth $808, and there's Tyra again, this
time, she's in a Pontiac G6, which she can win playing
the Card Game. She draws another $1000 card, the second
in a row, and with that padding of error, she draws the
Ace of Clubs, and bids $16,500. Actual price... $20,655.
Difference: $4155. No car, and worst off, Tyra has to go
back to her studio to tape her show now. But you can see
the happenings at
ClassicGameShows.com. (C-Note:
Please download the clip from that site. If there's
anything we frown upon over here, it's bandwidth
leeching. Thanks, the management). Meanwhile, Jennifer
spins out 85c to win the first Showdown.
Our next player...
Christopher Henderschott. The soldier in the US Army
wins a $578 table tennis package. A hot tub awaits in
Double Prices. It's either $4150 or $3495. He goes for
$3495... and he's a winner, too!
We're at the start of a
run when Marjorie Bolton makes it on stage thanks to a
$999 fridge/freezer. But can she Line'em Up for a
Chevrolet Colorado? She gets the help of an $895
flatware set, a $58 voice recorder, and a $697 set of
lamps. First number, 1. Last: 0. She lines up
$19,570.... two right. She changes the 5 to an 8...
Boom. Got it.
Last chance for Chason
and Jennifer E. to win something out of Contestants'
Row... and it goes to Chason, as he wins a $1650
telescope. That leads to a chance at a pair of Honda
offroad motorcycles. He'll win those just so long as
Hans doesn't plummet to his untimely death... again.
First up, a steam iron. Marjorie says $25... It's $24,
so Hans only goes one step. Next: a food dehydrator. He
thinks it's $45. It's actually $39, so he traverses
another six steps to seven. Finally, we've got a digital
compass. He thinks it's $50... it's $40. It's enough for
the win. But it isn't enough to win at the Wheel, as
Marjorie (thanks to Bob spinning) goes on to the final
round...
And if that wasn't
exciting enough, someone got engaged during the
commercial!
First up, a bedroom group
with sleep set, an HDTV, and a trip to Rio. Top winner
Marjorie bids $9000. Jennifer E, meanwhile, keeps it
simple with his & hers running shoes, range, and a Ford
Freestar. She tags it at $30,000. Actual price: $28,894.
She's over by about $1000 and change. Marjorie's actual
price... $17,947. She wins the day with $40,506! What a
way to end the week!
Stats: 5-1, $78,556. |

prizes! Stephanie had a tough run on the wheel,
and we give her $1,000. And Andrew leaves with a
nice total of $5,350.
Can Elise end the week on a big note? She lands on
the H in CASH. Her category is THING. With the

Last time, Madeline Clive
(Minneapolis, MN) had no problem getting $1,000. How
much more will she win?
Madeline happens to be a big fan of this show, so much
that when she goes on vacation, she makes sure she knows
when she can watch it! So this is a dream come true for
her! As for how she prepared for this, she checked out
as many library books as she could, and watched as much
TV as she could. Hopefully, she has enough of that
information crammed into her head to go all the way
here. With that, the game resumes, and after a bit, she
runs into this question...
[$8,000]
Stars of the hit musical "The Producers," Matthew
Broderick and Nathan Lane returned to Broadway in 2005
in what show?
A: Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
B: Waiting for Godot
C: La Cage aux Folles
D: The Odd Couple
Madeline asks the audience. 88% of the studio audience
and 41% of the AIM users pick D. Madeline trusts them...
and they're right! Moving on...
[$16,000]
George H.W. Bush's presidential library is located on
the campus of what Texas university?
A: Texas A&M
B: Rice
C: Southern Methodist
D: Baylor
Madeline says she thinks the 50:50 wouldn't help, then
she calls her friend Pauline, who is a retired reference
librarian. Pauline is 50% sure that it's A. Madeline
goes with that... and it's A! She then makes it to
$25,000, becoming the 13th straight player in the
regular run (as in not counting theme weeks like last
week) to reach that point! With that, she then sees
this...
[$50,000]
Joseph Smith, founder of the Mormon church, believed
that the Garden of Eden was located in what state?
A: Kansas
B: Missouri
C: Kentucky
D: Iowa
The 50:50 leaves B and C. Still unsure, she then decides
to switch it. Turns out that it was B. But that's gone
now, and this is what replaces it...
[$50,000] (Q)
A landmark 1843 case in England held Daniel M'Naghten
not guilty of murder thanks to what defense?
A: Entrapment
B: Intoxication
C: Self-defense
D: Insanity
It is a free guess, so Madeline says D... and she's
right! Next question...
[$100,000]
What word, meaning "an embellishing musical note," was
the winning word in the 2005 National Spelling Bee?
A: Appoggiatura
B: Trouvaille
C: Eminentissimo
D: Torrenticole
Madeline wants to continue, but isn't sure enough to do
so, so she walks. She was thinking D, but it was A, so
she made a good move in walking with $50,000!
Next up is the 150th player in the regular run, JoAnn
Gigliotti (Morrisville, PA). She runs a shop called
"Red-Hot Mamas", which sells menopause clothing, to help
women keep cool all day and all night. Seems like an
interesting idea... Anyway, JoAnn starts by knowing that
in Chinese restaurants, a fortune cookie traditionally
contains a small slip of paper. She completes the lower
tier, then after getting through a few more questions,
she faces this one...
[$16,000]
Due to the presence of a bitter chemical, which of the
following are inedible when picked straight from the
tree?
A: Dates
B: Walnuts
C: Figs
D: Olives
JoAnn decides to ask the audience. 51% of the studio
audience and 30% of the AIM users say D. JoAnn has
enough faith in them to go with that... and it's D! She
keeps going...
[$25,000]
Trying to garner public support, what authoritarian
ruler famously claimed that he made the trains run on
time?
A: Joseph Stalin
B: General Franco
C: Benito Mussolini
D: Mao Tse-tung
JoAnn calls her son Joseph, who is positive that it's C
(he said Mussolini before JoAnn started reading the
choices). JoAnn trusts her son... and just for that, she
is the 14th straight player in the regular run to reach
$25,000!
And that's all for this week. Overall, I'd say this was
a really good week, as every player this week each won
at least $25,000, and we know that JoAnn will win at
least that much, if not more. But we'll have to wait
about a week to see how she does in the upper tier,
because starting Monday, WWTBAM goes to the movies for
Million Dollar Movie Week! See ya then! |
