Ex-Husbands
(Brian, Otis, Tim, Mark, Louis); zero games, $2500 |
|
Ex-Wives (Patti,
Debra, Pam, Ashley, Andrea); two games, $20,000 |
Yesterday, the ex-wives
finally got on the money board after winning two games.
Round 1:
100 men, when it comes to women, something more
important to you than a great bod (5). Tim likes the
personality for number one. They also like brains,
kindness, money, and ... a good cook? The ladies hope
so... Not! The guys get 81! Other answer: beauty/looks.
Round 2: something people
replace, even if the old one is still working (6). Otis
fires with the TV... Number one! We also replace a car,
a watch, and a fridge. The ladies try again with
computer. Nope. The guys have 142. Other answers:
toaster, significant other.
Double Round: something
everyone tries to get out of (5). Patti gets work,
number two. Andrea gets #3, trouble... And it's getting
ugly, not just the answers, but the competition! The
guys try to steal with jury duty... Number one answer!
They have 188. Other answers: housework/chores, a lie.
Triple Round: a place
where women dress sexy (4). Louis hits money with
the club. They also get the beach and the bedroom. The
wedding does it for the guys as they win, 476-0.
Tim and Big Louis go for
the Fast Money. Tim ends up with only 46 points... Louis
takes the guys to 186, giving the Ex-Wives another
$2500. |

Rachel Frank. Michael
Vasquez. Erin Fisher. Arzie Dennis. By the end of this
act, one of these people will be $500 richer. And it's
all because someone bid $3000 on a pool table. That
someone... Erin. She gets to play for a hot tub in
Pushover. Given this: 8 1 2 9 5 1 2 5 0, she pushes five
to $5125... and wins the hot tub!
Rachel isn't a pushover
herself, as she wins a baker's rack worth $1700 and a
chance to buy a Dodge Charger for Pocket Change. It's
worth $23,489... but it'll cost her $1.50 after six
mistakes. She starts with 25c... then gets another
dime... another quarter... another three quarters... and
another dime. Total: $1.45. Not enough.
Belinda Powell wins a
keyboard in round 3 worth $900. Time to play for a
cotton candy cart, an HDTV, and a cradle. The cart is
$1408... maybe. The TV is $2599... maybe. The cradle is
$2159... maybe. See, one of these prices is wrong, hence
the name of the game, One Wrong Price. She goes with the
cradle, and it's... $3225! Winner winner!
Rachel spins her way into
the Showcase after scoring 85c. Meanwhile, Arzie wins a
$599 fireplace... and it's about to get hot, because
it's time to play... PLINKO! Using chips from Bob, a
mailbox, a breakfast maker, a food dehydrator, and a
cookie press, he scores $12,000!
Oh, did we mention that
there's another Million Dollar Spectacular on? It's on
Tuesday at 8p ET. So program your VCR to record Idol,
but watch this one live!
Debra Shaw comes around
in round 4, but leaves in round 5. Her prize, a $532
secretary desk. From four legs to four wheels as she
plays for a Chevrolet Malibu in That's Too Much! She
thinks that $18,941 is Too Much... and it's Just Short.
Price: $19,457. Should've gone one more.
Two bikes, $1200,
winner... Michael! Finally free from Bidder's Row, he
plays for a living room. The game: Hi-Lo. According to
Michael, Capzasin P ($12.99), Garlique ($13.99), and
Clorox bath wand ($9.99) all go on the Hi row... On the
Lo row, NesQuik at $4.39, Westbrae Natural Salad Beans
at 99c... and Jelly Belly jelly beans... for $2.99!
So who joins Rachel in
the Showcase? Both Debra and Arzie spin 75c on the
Wheel. Debra spins 15c in the Spin-Off, but Arzie scores
40c to win!
First in the Showcase...
Docks, like the one you put a digital camera on, the
dock at SpaceCamp in Huntsville, AL, and the dock you
park a sailboat on. Top winner Arzie passes to Rachel,
who bids $24,995. Arzie, meanwhile, gets a visit from
Literal Lisa, who has an iPod, a trip to Tahiti, and a
Pontiac Vibe! He bids $25,000. Actual price... $23,247.
D'oh! Arzie's over... Rachel's price: $34,806. She wins
$36,506 in prizes!
Stats: 4-2, $71,686 |

As Walk In and Win (or, as
Maddie Suchard called it, Walk In and Llama) Week
continues, Chris Cocker (Bessemer, NC) is at the $2,000
level, with 2 lifelines still available.
[Looks like Mickey Mouse decided to make another
appearance after letting Minnie take care of things
yesterday.]
Chris' wife (along with his bulldog) aren't here; he
says they're probably driving around, as they can't
afford a hotel room. And they're heading right back home
once he's done here. No wonder they need the money...
Anyway, the game resumes...
[$4,000]
Of the AFI's "100 Greatest Movie Quotes," the only quote
that features a Spanish phrase is from what movie?
A: Titanic
B: Taxi Driver
C: Terminator 2
D: E.T.
Chris calls his aunt Cindy, but she has no idea. Well,
that didn't work; why not use the 50:50? He does, and it
leaves B and C. With that, Chris says B... but he's
wrong! It's C! Well, at least $1,000 is better than
nothing, as Mickey leads Chris outta there.
Number time again. This time, it's 174, and that brings
Valerie Enrique (Oviedo, FL) to the hot seat. And it
just so happens that she is pregnant. And it also turns
out that she's an ultrasonographer, meaning she does
ultrasounds for a living. Yes, she has used it to check
on her own baby, and it'll be a girl. So naturally, she
could certainly use plenty of money. So, Valerie starts
by knowing that according to classical mythology,
getting struck by one of Cupid's arrows causes a person
to fall in love (though the person may end up wanting to
punch Cupid in the face first; arrows hurt, you know).
She easily completes the lower tier, and is on a roll
heading into this...
[$25,000]
In 2005, what country threatened to sue Yale to recover
artifacts taken from the Machu Picchu ruins almost a
century ago?
A: Peru
B: Cambodia
C: Mexico
D: Panama
Valerie goes with A... and she has $25,000! Yep, believe
it or not, a player from Walk In and Win Week made it to
the upper tier without using any lifelines! So, with 4
lifelines available now, she moves on to this...
[$50,000]
What is the age difference between Ashton Kutcher and
Demi Moore, who tied the knot in a private ceremony in
2005?
A: 8 years
B: 12 years
C: 15 years
D: 18 years
Valerie decides to ask the audience. 47% of the studio
audience says D, with 39% saying C. But in the AIM poll,
35% says C, with 32% saying D. With results like those,
I can't really blame Valerie for using the 50:50 here.
But guess what? C and D are left. Yipes. With that,
Valerie decides to just trust the studio audience, going
with D... but it was the AIM audience that was right! It
was C! At least there was nothing to lose at this level,
so Valerie is heading home $25,000 richer!
Here comes another number. And it's 138, which belongs
to Connie Marich (Sparks, NV). They get right to it, and
Connie knows that one activity classified as a "contact
sport" is boxing (I think there's a joke concerning
puberty and "contact sport", but I'm not going there).
She soon gets the $1,000, then eventually reaches
this...
[$4,000]
What government officials traditionally give an annual
speech called the "State of the State address"?
A: U.S. Ambassadors
B: Supreme Court Justices
C: Attorneys General
D: Governors
Connie asks the audience. An astounding 95% of the
studio audience says D, and the AIM poll isn't working
for this question. Connie trusts the audience... and
they're right!
That's all for today. Connie will return tomorrow. |
