                | First in Ben's rig are Amy, Erin,
and Rachel, heading to Flatiron Lounge. They sweep the $25
tier and rack up $200 going into a Red Light Challenge: the
five US states that start with either north, south, east, or
west. North Carolina, South Carolina, North Dakota, South
Dakota, and West Virginia will do it for $450. They sweep the
$50ers. But they need a mobile shout here: Howard Hughes' H4
Hercules aircraft is better known by what rhyming nickname?
"The Spruce Goose." Right for $950. They need a street
shoutout to translate "this for that" into Latin. The street
shout... doesn't know. They go with ... nothing. It was quid
pro quo... "You're going to kick yourselves." Second strike:
the famous pianist and composer of "Maple Leaf Rag". No one
knows "Scott Joplin," as they pull up to their destination...
Gotten! They win $1250, but will they go for double in the
                  Video Bonus? Nope. Cell
phone dude (aka Mark Leftseller) will have to put away the
headset, as he heads to the Four Seasons. He's got a surprise
for Ben, as Mark has Tiki Barber on the phone. Turns out he's
his agent. He doesn't know what a JPEG is (image), and needs
to call Tiki on this shoutout: what famous John Steinbeck
novel follows the travels of Tom Joad? Tiki says "Lonesome
Dove"... Flag on the play, it's "The Grapes of Wrath." Final
question: what high-fidelity sound system takes its name form
a George Lucas film. "Bose?..." Tell Tiki we said "what up."
It's THX, as Mark exits the cab to the right. Going to 15th & Ninth with
Bonnie & Cecile, two Michiganders. They plow through the $25
questions. Cecile needs help here from her fried Chris. "Tommy
Moe won more than one medal in the 1994 Olympics. What sport?"
"Skiing!" Right! They have $250 going into a Red Light
Challenge: five of seven American soap operas that have aired
for more than 30 years. One Life to Live, Days of our Lives,
General Hospital, All My Children, and Young & The Restless
are good for $500. The others: As the World Turns and Guiding
Light. They get their first strike here: news commentator who
published "The No-Spin Zone". "Bill... Maher." Not even...
Bill O'Reilly. Second strike: used in horse racing, what unit
of length is equal to 220 miles. It's a furlong. They need a
street shoutout to stay alive: who is the author of "The
Fountain Pen". "Ayn Rand!" You win! That's $1050! They say "a
bird in the hand is worth two in the bush", leaving with that
                  money. |

go? No one knows...  Round 1:
phrase that starts with "middle of the"... (5). Paula
gets #1, middle of the road. Also up there: middle of
the night, week, day, and... room? The Biglers hope
so... Nope. The Rhodes get 79. Other answer: middle of
                        the ocean. Round 2: something
specific in the home that might have been neglected by a
working mom (6). Stefon goes with dust... Count it!
That's number one, cleaning. The Rhodes follow with
children, yard, spouse, and laundry. The Biglers try to
steal with cooking... Got it for 88! Double Round: something
that can be frustrating to use for the first time (full board).
CJ's car is... #3. Cheryl's computer is number one! The
Rhodes try "dishwasher" for the steal... Not there! The
Biglers are at 156. Other answers: DVD player/VCR,
tools, can opener, video game. Triple Round: something
about Tom Cruise that comedians makes fun of (4). Amber:
"Katie Holmes"... Number three. Jay: "How sexy he is"...
number one! Rest of the family... blank. The Biglers
hope to shut it out with "scientology"... Got it for the
win, 315-79. Other answer: couchjumping. Sisters Deanna and Nicole
are sent to face the Fast Money board. Combined, they
lay a total of five gooseeggs, getting $335. |

(army officer from Ft. Monroe, VA) | Bob has had the longest
streak of the past week with... two. He starts with $200
"Foo" Finders, Bob is $800 under as he finds the Daily
Double under $800 Borough Babies. He bets the max of
$1000 on author Betty Smith's borough of birth.
"What is Brooklyn?" Also the birthplace of one Jason
Block. He's right for $200. He doubles up at the half to
$400, but still a long way to go to catch Margaret's
$1600 and Peter's $5000 as he will start Double
                        Jeopardy!... ... with $400 The "Un"category,
finding the Daily Double under $2000. He bets the level
on the latin for "small claw", denoting a hoofed mammal.
"What is a uniped?" It's an ungulate, as he's dropped to
$800. He storms back as Margaret finds the second Daily
Double under $1600 We're Talking Baseball. She bets
$3000 on this: in 1975, this ballplayer was awarded the
NAACP's prestigious Spingarn Medal. "Who is... Willie
Mays?" Nope, it's Hank Aaron, as she is left with $4200.
She'll end with that much, while Bob has $15,600 and the
                        lead to Peter's $10,200.
                        Final Jeopardy!
in "Word Origins": this word that has come to
mean "sudden prosperity" means "good weather" in Spanish. Correct question: What
is bonanza? No one is right, although
all were darn close with "bueno tiempo," "benefactor"
and "benefit". But Bob's still champ with $10,799, a
                        three-day take of $42,399. |

              | From the clunker of Monday,
to the Bobbleheads of yesterday, here's what Hump Day
                        had in store at 7800.
Jeanette Jackson, Shawn Brausan Doohen, Kyle Bradshaw,
and Estella Palmer load up the Row first today, for a
shot at a Cedarshed children's playhouse. Jeanette picks
it up with a $1000 bid (ARP: $1639). She takes a shot at
a Ford Mustang V6 Coupe Deluxe and a few other things in
Switcheroo. The other things? An electric toothbrush,
sphere ice cream maker, a retro toaster, and a tortilla
                        grill. The board:

 2 1 3 - 5
 - 7
 - 9
 - 0

 [2][3][4][5][8]

Her first shot against the clock (placing 8-5-3-4-2)
nets her only one correct. She takes the other 30
seconds and changes all 5 blocks (placing 2-8-4-3-5).
How many right? Can you say goose-egg? Actual Placement:
                        4-5-2-8-3.

Next contestant called, Cristina Neri, picks up a loaded
Dell XPS desktop, valued at $1108. She goes after a
Roland HPI7 interactive digital piano in Range Game.
With the range bottoming at $6200, she takes a long time
to stop the Rangefinder, but it comes to rest between
$6445 and $6605. ARP of the piano: $6495 and a WIN!

Newest contestant Jerome Hoover, a gunnery sergeant from
the USMC, picks up a Palecek writing desk, with a side
of Coricidin HBP, valued at $1942. He goes to the doors
to play Side By Side for a trip to DC. $4929 or $2949?
The audience leans towards $4929, but Jerome does his
own thing, goes with $2949, and WINS! That trip, plus
$1000 on the wheel, gives Jerome a spot in the
                        Showcases.

At this point, all three winners have come from the
green spot in the Row. Will we make it four? Why not?
Contestant Rosalinda Cadena (Rosie by the tag) captures
a Whirlpool Gold range, worth $949. She will get Tempted
for a Chevy HHR. The swag she's presented with: a $799
music box clock, a $300 TDK digital CD recorder, a $4499
Moissanite necklace, and $500 worth of Eli's Cheesecake.
She sets the price of the car at $19,345, makes no
changes, and goes for the car. Problem is, she had three
                        wrong. ARP: $17,390.

Will Michael Rose keep the green spot streak alive?
Nope. Shawn breaks the curse and and picks up a $544
John Deere lawn trimmer and blower (along with Gold Bond
body lotion). She takes a shot at Checking-Out for an
American 14.6 day sailer. With Hot Pockets, Chips Ahoy,
Bruce's Yams, Dole Pineapple, and Tums Smoothies, here's
what her guesses were and the actual totals:

 Hot Pockets-----$2.79---$2.29
 Chips Ahoy------$1.89---$0.55
 Bruce's Yams----$2.29---$1.29
 Dole Pineapple--$1.75---$1.79
 Tums Smoothies--$5.50---$3.99
 TOTALS----------$14.22--$9.91---$4.31 difference

Finally, Michael does manage to get on stage, making it
five out of six from the green spot, as he takes a $809
set of Coleman family camping equipment. He takes a trip
to the Bargain Bar for a Vermont Castings barbecue
($949) and a Flexsteel Temecula chair and ottoman
($642). He thinks the chair is the bigger bargain.
                        Grill: $1549 ($600). Chair: $1642 ($1000). We break even
today. Rosie and her Temptation-ness works her way into
the Showcases as Runner-Up with 85¢.

The first Showcase contains an Aico dining room,
Noritake dinnerware, Oneida flatware, and a trip to the
Cook Islands in the South Pacific. Jerome passes to
                        Rosie, who bids $16,000.

Showcase #2 shows us some unpublished instruction
manuals. Prizes included: 2 Motorola cellphones, a
Kasson Tudor pool table, and a Ford Focus ZX4SE. Jerome
                        bids $21,500.

 Rosie's Showcase: $21,588 for a difference of $5588. Had
Rosie used Jerome's bid, she would have been $88 off.
Jerome's Showcase: $20,380 and over he goes. Rosie walks
                        with $22,537.

and they lead with $11,696 in cash and prizes.

The Jackpot round is sponsored by Worldwinner.com where
you can play Wheel for Cash and Prizes. The category is

Over to Deshawn and Reggie. They hit and pick up the
                        $4,000 NFL.com shopping spree. SPECTACULAR ONE-HANDED
CATCH. Reggie does the solving and hits $6,050. They
have $10,050 in cash and prizes.

The mystery round prize is $10,000. The category is SAME
NAME. Deshawn and Reggie start. They miss...Brandy and
Santana have the wheel. They miss, over to Jonathan and
Anthony who hit Lose A Turn...over to DeShawn and Reggie
who hit Bankrupt. Back to Brandy and Santana who miss
the solve. Jonathan and Anthony hit the Mystery wedge
and risk $1,000 and hit Bankrupt. Back to DeShawn and
Reggie who solve ECONOMIC & FUMBLE RECOVERY for $300.
But we have a minimum of $1,000 and they have $11,050 in
cash and prizes. They are $646 off the lead.

The $3,000 Tossup is RHYME TIME. Anthony and Jonathan
are up to $4,000 with ROUGH AND TOUGH. They go right
into the FINAL SPIN with PHRASE. $1,600 a letter
tonight. Reggie and Deshawn solve TELL ME WHERE IT HURTS
for $6,400. They win with $17,450 in cash and prizes.
Jonathan and Anthony had a bunch of bad luck on the
wheel. Anthony leaves with $4,000 but Jonathan gets
$10,000 for his Charity. Brandy is going to Ireland and
Santana leaves with $11,696 in cash for his charity.

Now, if we have 2 $100,000 winners in a row, Babette
goes bye bye and DeShawn is going to Super Bowl. Let's
find out what happens. They land on the C in CASH. The
category is THING. With the RSTLNE we have:

 _ L _
 R _ _ _ L R _

They choose DVMO and we have:

solved the puzzle! And he will be styling in his new

$52,530 in cash and prizes which is going to Reggie's
Charity. And if you have the SPIN ID of JR08985 you have
a 2006 Cadillac CTS...and if you have the SONY Card you

              | Yesterday, Heidi Schuessler
(Seattle, WA) used up her lifelines, but she made it to
$25,000. She now has the 4th lifeline, but how far will
                        she go now?
Heidi did study in preparation for the show, but some
people gave her a hard time about it for some reason. At
least the studying paid off when it came to the $25,000
question yesterday, and maybe it'll help her get even
                        farther, as the game continues...

An 18-karat gold bracelet is what percent gold?
 A: 33 percent
 B: 50 percent
 C: 66 percent
 D: 75 percent

Heidi just doesn't know, so she switches it out. Once
the answer is revealed to be D, this shows up...

 [$50,000] (Q)
In 1864, a Civil War sea battle between the CSS Alabama
and the USS Kearsarge occurred off the coast of what
                        country?
 A: Costa Rica
 B: Venezuela
 C: France
 D: Morocco

Heidi thinks about it, then says A... but it's C! At
least she lost nothing on that one, and she goes home
                        with $25,000!

Next up is Ben Landman (Chapel Hill, NC). On
the day of this taping, his students are having a test.
Meredith says he has a test of his own here, and he says
he feels their pain. Hey, at least this test could award
up to a million dollars in cash! Ben starts this test by
knowing that the heavenly body which is the primary
source of heat and light on Earth is the Sun (though I
bet Antonio Banderas has a similar effect on plenty of
ladies). He easily secures the $1,000, then soon comes
                        to this...

In 2005, what pop star flaunted her first-time pregnancy
in the video for "Someday (I Will Understand)"?
 A: Jessica Simpson
 B: Christina Aguilera
 C: Britney Spears
 D: Gwen Stefani

Ben asks the audience. 90% of the studio audience and
76% of the AIM users say C. Can't be much more obvious
than that, as Ben trusts them... and they're right!
                        Moving on...

In chemistry, what is the term for a substance with a pH
                        value of less than 7?
 A: Alloy
 B: Base
 C: Acid
 D: Enzyme

The 50:50 leaves B and C. Ben then calls his brother
Larry, who thinks it's B, but he isn't sure. Ben goes
with B... but it's C! He may want to talk to his brother
about that, once he gets home with $1,000.

Karen Hasty (Harrah, OK) is the next player. After she
mentions that Harrah is 30 miles outside of Oklahoma
City, Karen gets right to it, starting off by knowing
that someone is most likely to make the polite reply
"you shouldn't have" while receiving a gift. She
completes the lower tier, and after another question,
                        she faces this...

Which of these instruments is usually made differently
                        for left-handed and right-handed musicians?
 A: Saxophone
 B: Clarinet
 C: Guitar
 D: Trumpet

Karen decides to ask the audience. 74% of the studio
audience says C, and so does 58% of the AIM users. Karen
goes with C... and it's C! Another question later, and
                        along comes this...

 [$16,000]
A major competitor of Microsoft Windows, the Linux
operating system uses what animal as its mascot?
 A: Cheetah
 B: Goldfish
 C: Alligator
 D: Penguin

Karen thinks it could be A, but she decides to call a
doctor she works with, Robert. Robert is 100% sure that
it's D, so Karen quickly locks it in... and it's D!

Time is up for today. Karen goes for $25,000 tomorrow.
