The
Introduction of the Top 11 (or "Why The Gauntlet Of
Villains Left One Out")
June
10
Now that the top 11 have settled in, it's
time to know them a little better. They'll be friends to the end, but
every week, someone will be gone until there is only one. Here we go.
We start the party off with the whole roster doing "Fame" by David Bowie
on astroturf. And believe us, it's the only show ever to use it.
Lauren & Kent go up first tag teaming with Mark & Kathryn doing a Travis
Wall routine to "Paris is Burning" by St. Vincent. Going back to the
1920's, they even had umbrellas and dresses to look the part.
Next came Alexie & Melinda linking up with Allison & Lauren doing a Tyce
Diorio routine to a song from "Sweet Charity." The girls killed it with
that dance, and I picked Melinda to go for it all.
Jose may be the first of some loners in the group, but in this TabNap
routine, he dances with Comfort, Twitch & Dominic. You'll have to figure
out which one's not wearing a jacket. Look carefully. Other than that,
it was an awesome routine.
There have been a lot of people whose last name is Santana. There's
Tito...Carlos....and now add to the list, Cristina. Going triple threat
to a Kelly Rowland song by Pascha & Anya, There was a bit of pretzel
work with both women, and Pascha stayed in control of the girls. Talk
about a 3-way dance.
Alex & Billy team up with Ade to do a Mia Michaels routine. As you watch
the routine, these 3 men take a visual journey of a man from childhood
to maturity. Thanks, Joe Ely.
ANd to end the program, it's a 3-for all as Adechicke, Ashley & Robert
do a Sonya Tayeh routine. To add to the mix, Neil & Courtney. They used
a mix of classical and Hip-hop to make the routine work.
So with that, we end the program. The competition begins next week. You
decide which dancer gets out the studio until we find a winner in the
weeks to come. I'll see you on the next edition of "So You Think You Can
Dance."
