"Surf Torture" - March 7

Last season, MTV brought 36 past Real Worlders and Road Rulers to battle it out in the Battle of the Sexes 2.

Now, MTV brings 10 past Real Worlders and 10 Road Rulers to Manzanillo, Mexico to compete in Bad Asses vs. Good Guys: The Inferno 2.

You know that Christmas song where he's making a list and checking it twice.  He's going to find out whose naughty and nice... and he's not Santa Claus... he's Dave Mirra who also hosted the very first Inferno challenge.

Since this won't be The Real World versus the Road Rules this season, the teams are divided into two exclusive groups.

Let's meet the Bad Asses, and they are...

Abram - RR South Pacific
Beth - RW Los Angeles
CT - RW Paris
Dan - RW Miami
Derrick - RR X-treme
Karamo - RW Philadelphia
Rachel - RR Campus Crawl
Tina - RR South Pacific
Tonya - RW Chicago
Veronica - RR Semester at Sea

For the Good Guys, they are...

Brad- RW San Diego
Darrell - RR Campus Crawl
Jamie - RW San Diego
Jodi - RR South Pacific
Jon - RW Los Angeles
Julie - RW New Orleans
Landon - RW Philadelphia
Mike - RW Back 2 New York
Robin - RW San Diego
Shavonda - RW Philadelphia

During this season, the 10 bad asses and 10 good guys will compete against each other to win missions. As in the first Inferno in 2004; after each mission, the teams will then vote someone from the other team into The Inferno. The two who are voted will have to take part in another mission to prove themselves and win the "Life Shield". If won, the nominee can remove themselves and have someone else place in their spot. Those final two will then compete in "The Inferno" where the loser will eliminated from the challenge. Fifteen missions will be played with $10,000 awarded to the winning teams to be added to their team bank account and also some prizes. The remaining players from each team will then compete in the very final mission to win the Handsome Reward.  And that is worth $150,000 in cash that'll also be added to their team bank account.

The teams then went to their own living quarters before receiving a text message on their T-Mobile Sidekick wireless devices.  It is a clue about the first mission.

The teams go to a beach for their first mission of this season is entitled "Surf Torture." This is where teams have to work in pairs to endure some different Navy Seal training courses including (but not limited to) wheel barrels, log lifting, and log dragging.  They'll continue to perform the aforementioned exercises as long as they can possible, until one of the two Navy Seals tells them to stop.  Then they must go to the bell to be rang, indicating their elimination.  The team with the last pair left standing wins the mission and adds $10,000 to their team bank account.  In the wheelbarrow exercise, these four pairs got eliminated...

Tonya and Beth [Bad]
Dan and Karamo [Bad]
Shavonda and Jon [Good]
Robin and Brad [Good]

We then move on to the log lifts and Jamie and Julie were the next pair to get the axe.  And then going back to the wheelbarrows Tina and Veronica faltered.

A new exercise then came into play, this time it's lifting lumber...then we're back to the wheelbarrow again.  Rachel and C.T. are the next pair to the eliminated.  Now they have to perform flutter kicks, I think the insanity leven a gone up at this point.  Jodi and Darrel are so drained that they ended up being the next pair eliminated.  We are now do two the last two pairs, Derrick and Abram and Landon and Mike.  In the end...Landon and Mike crapped out giving the Bad Asses their first victory and the $10K to their team bank account.  It's then time for the teams for their 30-minute deliberations for the nominations of the males to participate in the first Inferno mission.

Once the deliberations are done, the Good Guys nominate Dan and the Bad Asses nominate Mike. They then put their figurines with their names marked on into a miniature mock-up of the Inferno cage area.

Who'll get the "Life Shield" in the next mission, find out in the next episode of "The Inferno II."
