Duel or Die
June 10

When we last left you, Aneesa and Tori were in their duel playing "The Elevator". Both Tori and Aneesa gave it their all, but in the end, the latters wins. And Tori is going back home leaving Brad to compete against MJ in the duel.

Guys' Duel Game: Duel Pole Dancing

A giant pole is situated in the center of the duel playing area with foot and arm holds to grab onto. The first of the two players involved to climb to the top and rings the bell wins.

MJ tried his best to get Brad off the pole, but his efforts were futile as Brad reaches the top of the pole to win. MJ is going back home to be a father and a husband. MJ will be enjoying his life indeed.

As the remaining eight players leave the duel, theyre are told by TJ that he'll see them soon. Aneesa remembers that he doesn't say "see ya soon".

Back at homebase, the players have no idea what's going on, all they know is that they're in the final eight and would like to take a breath and prepare for whatever is next. Then TJ walks in and gathers them together to tell them there in the final eight. This news causes Diem to react like a total dork cheerleader. However, TJ did mention that the final challenge will have six players. So they're going to have another duel, and the good news turns out to be bad.

TJ asks Aneesa to select a duel game by picking one of five cards, she chooses "Push Over" for the girls. Then TJ asks Brad to pick a card and he picks "Back Off" for the guys. The players have one hour to deliberate and decide on one guy and one girl going into the duel. Those chosen will then pick their opponent of the same sex to see who stays and who goes home, no one is exempt. After the hour has passed, Diem for the girls and Landon for the guys are the first two players up for possible elimination.

It's now time for the final duel where Landon chooses to take on Brad and Diem to take on Brittini. Landon and Brad play "Back Off", and after an very intense battle, Brad is guaranteed to get paid. And as for Landon, he's the last guy to be eliminated as his time in New Zealand is up.

Diem and Brittini then play "Push Over", but with a new element in place...the rain, which will make the platform slick. In the end Brittini pushes Diem off of the road to riches, earning her a spot in the final mission.

We're now down to the final six: Aneesa, Brad, Brittini, Evan, Mark, and Rachel. They all get warmed up and packed their bags for the moment they've all been waiting for...the final challenge of the season.

The Final Challenge: All the Duels In One

This is an endurance race through a strenuous course across Queenstown Hill. There are five different checkpoints in which each one is a mini-challenge in itself. Each of those mini-challenges are reminiscent of the five different games played in the duel. Like in some of the challenges, at times the players will need a partner in order to complete some of the checkpoints. They must complete all five checkpoints in order to make it to the finish.

Their final challenge begins on a jet boat, but the race does not start until that boat stops. The players first walk across a river using the tethered horizontal rope. They all get to the Spot On Station where they have to use their pieces to complete their puzzle.

The players then run to the Duel Pole Dancing Station where there are chains attached to the top of their individual poles, which are also connected to a bicycle. They must climb the pole to unhook the chains, release their bicycles, and follow the course to their next checkpoint. And at this point, their bicycles must be with them at all times. Evan must tired or something, because he thought the rules stated to carry the bike up with him to the top.

Brad gets to the next checkpoint, the Back Off Station, first. Over there, each player must chain themselves and a partner to a 45-pound iron ring that they'll be chucking around with. Brad is partnered up with Rachel since she's the first girl up there. Evan then gets paired up with Brittini, who gets yelled and cussed at by him. And Mark automatically gets teamed up with Aneesa in which the course isn't necessary doing her any favors.

Brad and Rachel are the first to reach the Push Over Station. The guy-girl pairs now must push their sleds across the designated line. They may remove the dirt to make their sled lighter. Once they are successful, they must retrieve their key from their chest below and free themselves from the metal ring.

All of the pairs complete this task first and they now split up to follow the course to the final checkpoint. Each of the players have to pull themselves up on their elevators using the chains. When a player reaches the top, they must grab the Maori carving and go back to ground level.

Rachel reaches the finish line before Evan does, and they each win the top prize of $100,000. Brad finishes next before Brittini does, netting them $35,000 each. And Mark and Aneesa finish last together giving them $15,000 each.

And with $300,000 in cash given away, we've reached the end of this season of The Real World/Road Rules Challenge in New Zealand.
