Preliminaries: Federman/Hutchins/Peterson -
July 16
While many kids are either getting ready to head
back to the classroom or off enjoying their summer vacation, fifteen of the best
in the nation are off to sunny California for one reason... to be the last
person standing in the second Teen Tournament this season.
Another standard two-week affair awaits as the
first runner-up receives $25,000 at least, while the second runner-up wins at
least $15,000.
Semifinalists are guaranteed at least $5000,
while quarterfinalists are guaranteed $2500 for participation. As always, any
and all winning accrued depends on how far up the ladder a player goes.
Today, quarterfinal number one....

Mr. A says: It's always an unwritten rule that tournaments begin with the most
compelling game to watch, and this lived up to said unwritten rule. Expect to
see all three in the semis. Expect to see one in the final.
