They haven't gotten their high school diplomas... They aren't gainfully employed... But they're going for big money in this season's Teen Tournament.

Teenagers from across the country have tried out by the boatload by taking "The Test" online at Jeopardy.com. Now the best 15 of them have come together at the Sony stages in Los Angeles to compete for $75,000 and the right to be called this season's Teen Champion. Second place gets $25,000. Third gets $15,000. Semifinalists who make it to week 2 will receive $10,000. All of this week's players will receive $5000. All money will be determined, as always, by how far the players go in the tournament.

This is a standard two-week affair, meaning that all 15 will play this week, with the five game winners joining the four highest-scoring non-winners in a win-or-go-home race to the two-day final.

So far, Will Dantzler and Zach Blumenfeld are assured of a place in next week's semifinal. Who will join them?

It's time to play... Jeopardy! round...

Daily Double #1: $1000 Number Patterns. Forrest, who thinks it would be fun to be a CIA translator, will have to translate her $1200 into a threat against Gabriel's $6400 and Lindsay's $2200. The only way to do that: bet it all. Forrest... bets the level on this: 1, 4, 9, 16, 25... "What is 36?" CORRECT for $2200!

Daily Double #1: $2000 TV Shows in Other Words. So far, Gabriel's been the aggressor with $18,400 to Lindsay's $9400 and Forrest's $6200. He's going to bet $3000 on this: "The Way in Which My Children's Female Parent Became Acquainted with Me." "What is 'How I Met Your Mother'?" Correct for $21,400!

Daily Double #2: $2000 Teen Mozart. Gabriel has $22,600. His closest opponent, just $9000. He can keep this game out of reach with the right wager. He bets... $2600. That'll do it. The clue: from age 19 comes "Il re pastore", in which one of these rural workers becomes a king. "What is a farmer?" No, a shepherd, leaving the scores thusly...

Final Jeopardy! category: LONDON LANDMARKS

Correct response: who is Sherlock Holmes?

Forrest's response: who is Shakespeare? WRONG. Wager: $200. Total: $2800.
Lindsay's response: who is Sherlock Holmes? CORRECT. Wager: $8900. Total: $17,900.
Gabriel's response: who is Sherlock Holmes? CORRECT. Wager doesn't matter.

SEMI-FINALIST: Gabriel Johnson

Gabriel just came at it with everything he had, and the other two couldn't match him. Lindsay, though, may benefit from being in a weak field if she finds herself in the semi next week. So far, she's the leader of the wild cards.
