Preliminaries: Botti/Hoffman/Quinn
February 15

Last year, Jeopardy! began an interesting experiment. The show sees a lot of teachers as contestants, so what would happen if we took 15 of them and let them look in a tournament setting? The end result was an astounding success, so for the second year in a row, J! is saluting the educators and molders of young minds by inviting another fifteen to compete for $100,000 and a guaranteed slot in the next Tournament of Champions.

Second place is guaranteed $50,000, while third will get $25,000 in a standard two-week event. Semifinalists are guaranteed at least $10,000, while quarterfinalists are guaranteed $5000 for participation. As always, any and all winning accrued depends on how far up the ladder a player goes.

Only nine of the fifteen that compete week one will be invited to return in week two, however, the five winners this week and four wild card top-scorers.

Class is in session.

Patrick needs to continue to make it a close game so that he stands a chance. He does that, and he'll be one to watch next week.

Who'll join him? Stay tuned.
