Preliminaries:
Duann/Myers/Petterson
May 4
Homebase is hosting the creme de la creme
of collegians as once again, 15 of the nation's best and brightest come
together to face the ultimate trivial challenge, facing off against each
other and the big board for up to $100,000.
Only nine of them will be invited to
return next week, however, the five winners this week and four wild card
top-scorers.
Another standard two-week affair awaits with an minimum guarantee of
$50,000 for second place and $25,000 for third.
Semifinalists are guaranteed at least $10,000, while quarterfinalists
are guaranteed $5000 for participation. As always, any and all winning
accrued depends on how far up the ladder a player goes.
But that's next week. The important bit
right now is to get there. Today, it's the Kansas Jayhawks, the Mizzou
Tigers, and the Buckeyes of Ohio State.

Daily Double #1: $1200 Art. Laura is
owning this match with $14,000 to Mark's $5200 and Jennifer's $1800. She goes
for a big bet with $4000 riding on this: this artist used trowels, sticks & even
basters to create some of his drip paintings, like "Cathedral". "Who is Jackson
Pollock?" Correct for $18,000!
Video Daily Double #2: $2000 Time to
Convert. Mark needs to make a move if he wants to maximize his return for the
Final with $8800. Laura has $18,800 to Jennifer's $3400. He wagers $2200 on
this: you do the math: -40 degrees on the Fahrenheit temperature scale equals
this on the Celsius scale. "What is zero degrees?" That's... not it. It was -40,
leaving him with $6600.

Laura was just out for
blood, while Mark wanted to keep things interesting. There's a good
chance that both of them will return next week. Meanwhile Jennifer was
