In 1984, "Jeopardy!", the
Merv Griffin creation that provided the answers and
asked for the questions, returned to the airwaves in
first-run syndication. Thirty years and more than 6000
episodes later, it stands as the gold standard for quiz
shows today, and this year, we celebrate with a
year-long tournament featuring some of the greatest
champions to ever play the game: The Battle of the
Decades.
This week, 15 of the greatest contestants of the 1990s return to compete. The winner of each game will return in May to compete for $1 million and the title of Champion of the Decades. Runners-up will receive $5000 each. Three weeks ago, in the 1980s, five players - Mark Lowenthal, Tom Nosek, Leszek Pawlowicz, Chuck Forrest, and Tom Cubbage - became quarterfinalists in the ultimate Battle of the Decades to be held in May. Now it's time to fill out the bracket with the five legendary players who will represent the 1990s.
To accommodate for Eddie's disadvantage, he is given a card with all the categories in Braille, and the board will sound when the lockouts are open. Rachael has the honor, and will start the Jeopardy! round...

She bets $1000 on this: this element is named for a mythological king for whom food was always just out of reach. "What is tantalum?" Right for $4700! Daily Double #2: $1200 2014 Anniversaries. Rachael is now up to $9500 to $12,000 for Eddie. Babu is still in it with $2000. She bets $1000 on this: happy 400th anniversary to this interracial couple who tied the knot in Jamestown. "Who are Pocahontas & John Rolfe?" Right for $10,500! At the end of Double Jeopardy!...
