Gno-cchi to Victory
February 22 |
We’re back at Alton Brown’s
International House of SabotageTM, and here to get their
$25,000 bankroll are Carlos, Kelly, Guilly and Max. Onto
the business.
First up: Gnocchi. Guilly buys a swap-out of potatoes
for $3,000, giving Kelly poutine, Carlos potato peels
and Max potato chip crumbs, and then forces Kelly to
wear a potato masher in her dominant hand for $7,500.
Kelly extracts a bit of revenge by forcing Guilly to
search a bunch of keys for the one that opens a dish for
$3,900. And emerging from the hermetically sealed porch
of Funk and Wagnall’s Mayonnaise Jar comes Jet Tila, who
knocks out Max and his full $25,000 bankroll.
Carlos holds all of his $25Gs, Kelly has $21,100 and
Guilly has $14,500 as we enter our second round, making
drunken noodles. Carlos buys two heat source
replacements - cocktails for Kelly and a keg for Guilly
- for $7,000, while a prep station made from recyclable
items is forced upon Carlos thanks to Guilly’s $7,500
bid. Jet returns and eliminates Guilly, who’s sorry
about returning $7,000.
Kelly has $21,100 still in her account while $18,000 is
being held by Carlos. Time to make the thumbprint
cookies, with Carlos spending $8,100 on a flour-filled
prep table replacing her mixing utensils for Kelly, but
Kelly pays $8,000 to sabotage Carlos’ thumbs. So on the
line is $13,100 for Kelly and $9,900 for Carlos, and as
Jet cookies out, the victory goes to Carlos, playing the
mom card.
More fun next week at the funhouse of cooking.
