Hellevator
Season
Premiere
by Chico Alexander
@DinoRAlexander
GSN: Friday 9p/8c
Hosts: Jen & Sylvia Soska
     |
|
|
The Soska sisters are back for
Halloween. Tonight's tale: "Glutton for Punishment". In the
Hellevator: Angela (36), Dorrian, Gabe, and Robert, all chefs who
go to the same culinary school. One of them, Dorri, is kidnapped
straight away. You have to rescue her from the Inferno Cell and
the clutches of Earl Picket, who hacked his wife to death and made
her into sausage. And they say romance is dead.
MEAT YOUR MAKER ($2000): Gabe has 3
minutes to find Mrs. Picket's limbs & head and reattach them to
her body, then return to the Hellevator. He... CAN'T DO IT. So he
joins Dorri in the Inferno Cell.
DON'T BE PIGHEADED ($3000): Angela
has 3 minutes to pull seven organs out of a pig's trough and throw
them in a waste bin using only her mouth and return to the
Hellevator. She gets it done rather quickly for $3000.
TASTE OF HELL ($5000): Robert has 3
minutes to find and recreate Earl's recipe for sausage, then make
a sausage as long as the cutting board. Then he has to return to
the Hellevator with the recipe. He gets the recipe, but can't make
the sausage in time. So it's Dorri, Gabe, and Robert in the
Inferno Cell, and Angela in...
INFERNO RUN: This season, it's a study in the seven deadly sins.
Behind each is a challenge. Behind one is a key. You have seven
minutes to decide whether or not to rescue your teammates or stay
behind and make more cash, up to $40,000. But if the team doesn't
return to the Hellevator, they leave with nothing.
- Pride ($6000): Syphon at least 15 pounds of fat from a patient
in an operation room
- Lust ($7000): Retrieve the ring from the wall and place it on
the corpse bride’s finger
- Greed ($5000): Somewhere in the safety deposit boxes were the
numbers to the correct combination to open the safe
- Sloth (the key): Fix the gaps in the two pipes that were leaking
by attaching the connectors that would fit.
She makes it to $18,000, added to the $3000 from earlier, giving
her and her teammates $21,000. |

Scooter Diel (Las Vegas, NV) has
$10,000 and his Plus One still available.
He gets to $20,000, then sees this...
[$30,000]
Comparing relative surface areas, Nationmaster.com lists the U.S.
as being "about half the size of" what?
A: Russia
B: Africa
C: China
D: Europe
Scooter considers things for a bit, saying that D is small, then
brings in his Plus One, who is his good friend, Glenn. Glenn
narrows it down to A or B. Scooter is leaning towards B after some
more discussion, then eventually decides to go for it... but it's
A! As a result, he leaves with $5,000.
Jimmy Miller (Palmdale, CA)
He wants to win enough money for him and his girlfriend to move to
a new place.
He secures $5,000 with some help from the audience, then has this
to consider...
[$7,000]
The 2010 book "The Disappearing Spoon" recounts the CIA's alleged
plan to kill Fidel Castro by putting what poisonous element where?
A: Thallium in his socks
B: Magnesium in his underpants
C: Barium in his hat
D: Lithium in his handkerchief
Jimmy eliminates D, then uses the 50:50. A and B remain. His gut
is leaning towards B, so he decides to save his Plus One and go
with that... but it's A! With that, he leaves with $5,000.
To end the week, Mallory Arnold goes for $1,000 with this...
Which of these words would you NOT be able to find in an edition
of the best-selling cookbook "Joy of Cooking"?
A: Garbanzo
B: Gazpacho
C: Gorgonzola
D: Gonzaga
Mallory doesn't cook much. She thinks about it, then says B... but
it's D. |
