You are looking live at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium! It took us all summer to reach this point, but now we have the final 10 acts competing for $1 million and a headlining show in Las Vegas!

JESSICA SANCHEZ (singer from Chula Vista, CA) sings “Die with a Smile” by Bruno Mars & Lady Gaga. Sofia says she looks like a pregnant angel. Mel calls it flawless & pitch perfect. Howie calls it the best act of the night so far. Simon thought it was the best performance we’ve heard from her so far.

LIGHT WIRE (multimedia dance group from São Paulo, Brazil) perform a glow-in-the-dark butterfly transformation. Simon thought it was brilliantly executed and deserves to win. Sofia was in shock. Mel thought it was similar to last week

MAMA DUKE (rapper from Austin) performs an original, “Open Your Eyes”. Mel could listen to her all day long. Howie thought she was authentic and likeable. Sofia says she’s unique and creative. Simon says that doing her own material makes her worthy of respect.

SIRCA MAREA (trapeze acrobats from South America) go high wire one more time, and the tricks are faster than they’ve ever been. Howie thought it was graceful. Mel thought it was seamless. Sofia thought it was breathtaking, Simon thought it was the best he’s ever seen.

MICAH PALACE (rapper from Connecticut) performs an original medley of “Spanglish” and “No Sabo”. Sofia thought it was intelligent and a party. Simon said it had everything. Mel though the party vibe was there. Howie thought it wasn’t as good as his last two.

LEO HIGH SCHOOL CHOIR (choir from Chicago) perform “Hall of Fame” by The Script. Mel just loves them. Simon is thrilled for all of them. Howie calls them “a vibe”. Sofia calls them the coolest choir that has ever been on AGT.

CHRIS TURNER (freestyle rapper from Manchester, UK) turns it to 150 BPM while referencing Howie Mandel, Jamaica, bananas, bongos, and Sunday dinner in a fanny pack among others. Simon thinks he’s the one to beat. Mel has never seen such raw talent. Sofia thought it was genius. Howie thought he set a world record.

JOURDAN BLUE (singer form New Orleans) went current with “Golden” from “KPop Demon Hunters”. Howie? “It’s over. You’ve got a great voice. You’re a great talent. You couldn’t have done better.” Simon thought it was a very smart song choice. Mel was waiting for him to sing something like this. Sofia thought he took a risk and it paid off.

TEAM RECYCLED (dance group from Berlin, Germany). The performers have come from all over the world, and they close on a worldly performance. Howie thought it was their best yet. Simon agrees. Mel thought they “recycled” a lot of the moves in a new way. Sofia thought this was the best they’ve ever been.

STEVE RAY LADSON (singer/musician from Hopkins, SC) closes the show with “Do The Rodeo”, an original. Sofia says he smells delicious. Mel says he knows who he is as an artist. Simon has a lot of respect for people like him who have done it the hard way. Howie calls it “fun-try”.

The acts have gone as far as they can on their own power. Now it’s up to America. Who will they crown as the ultimate winner? Find out tomorrow night!

- Taking out the trash… Strike one.
- Barry White… RIGHT!
- Flirty texts… Strike two.

In the last episode, the team of Sketch, Jay, Sydney, Alissa, Max, and Zach are left to vote out one of their own…
- ELIMINATED: Jay

With Jay gone, Sketch now works on his alliances with… well, anyone who will have him. Those he asked are convinced that he’s trying to play the house against itself.

Ekin-Su asks Sydney if she likes Zach… and then asked Mark if he liked Sydney. Ekin-Su REALLY wants a showmance to happen.

The contestants continue to buy snacks and amusements, further dwindling their potential prize pot.

DAILY CHALLENGE: Control Center. It’s a game of Mastermind, with players trying to guess a five-color sequence. Every correct guess would earn another opportunity. Every wrong guess would not only zap $1000 from the prize pot… but would also zap another player at random. You have two hours to solve the sequence. In addition, there are five randomly arranged grey buttons to press… with several consequences.

One of the grey buttons released a goose into the house. Ekin-Su also pressed a button marked “Do Not Push”… that zapped $5000 from the fund.
- RESULT: Success

Alissa & Bre are called to the Temptation Room, where they find massages and booze for the low low price of.. $30,000. They… pass.

The boys of the house buy three Expose the Insider cards, forcing the contestants to reveal their secrets before they aired. So what would be revealed?

TO BE CONTINUED…

Four episodes of “Inside: USA” are now available on Netflix. Another recap follows tomorrow.

Last time, no one got pinned, and Karla was given her walking papers after she failed to create a chef-quality omelette. Now we’re down to eight as we begin the back-half of the competition.

The next test will be broken into two parts. Part 1 will be conceptualizing your own fast casual eatery. Create and pitch a concept with a signature entrée and drink. Only two of the concepts will be picked to launch, and they’ll earn pins. You’ll be serving people at the Egg.

On the panel… someone who just lost to Bobby Flay’s Titans, Dale Talde, class of ’98.

The presentations…
- Sidney - Sid’s Country Cooking (“Well, Sharks, I’m here asking for $500,000 for 10% of my company owned by Netflix.” … Smooth.): Biscuits & gravy
- Andrew – “Sunny’s Comfort Kitchen”: Fried Chicken Mushrooms Kale Caesar Salad
- Joaquin – Ay Nako!: Filipino Pork Barbecue
- Nikki – Lil’ Nic’s: Fried Chicken Pesto Sandwich
- London – Minion: Jerk Chicken with Coconut Rice
- Courtney – We Are Family: Confit Potato Salad, Chicken Dumpling & Stew
- Abby – Valley: Mushroom & Mole Taco
- Ilke – Ouma’s Meat Pies: Bobotie Meat Pie

PINS: Ilke, Joaquin

Now for part 2: you will have to execute the concepts of the two fast casual eateries. Both teams will also have to add a vegetarian option to their menus. From there, you’ll go head to head at the Egg during lunchtime rush. The judges will gauge interest based on the student body.

Because Ilke won over the judges, she will get first pick of her brigade.

-          OUMA’S MEAT PIES: Ilke (captain), Abby, Courtney, Nikki

-          AY NAKO!: Joaquin (captain), Andrew, London, Sidney

So through no fault of her own, or maybe through fault of her own, we have the men vs. the women.

ILKE’s menu: Bobotie Meat Pie, Sweet Potato Curry Pie, Rooibos Tea
JOAQUIN’s menu: Filipino Pork Barbecue, Mushroom Adobo, Garlic Fried Rice, Mango Shake

PIN CEREMONY #4
- WINNERS: Ay Nako! This brings Joaquin up to 3 pins, everyone on his team has two.
ELIMINATED: Abby Kirn.

The seven remaining will be working baker’s hours next time.

Seven episodes of "Next Gen Chef" are available right now on Netflix. Another recap follows tomorrow.
