Craig tries for the hat trick
against...
TWO DAY
CHAMPION
Craig
Cornish Jr.
Welcome, MD
graduate student in history
$46,800 |
Phil
Lowe
Raleigh
process automation engineer |
Meredith Larson
Washington, DC
attorney |
Craig starts with $200 "N" The
Atlas. At the TV timeout, Meredith leads with $3800 to Phil's
$2000. Craig has $1200.
Craig finds the Daily Double under
$600 "N" The Atlas. He fronts it all on this: this largest Central
American lake is separated from the Pacific Ocean is the
12-mile-wide Rivas Isthmus. "What is Lake Nicaragua?" FOR THE
DOUBLER, $5200! He ends up with $6000 to $7200 for Meredith. Phil
on $2800 will start Double Jeopardy!...
... with $400 File Under "Q".
Meredith finds the first Daily Double under $1600 Scientific
European. She bets $3500 on this: in 1943 he fled from Copenhagen
to escape the Nazis & later went to Los Alamos to advise
scientists working on the A-bomb. "Who is Bohr?" RIGHT for
$13,500! Craig finds the other under $1200 There's No Place Like
Dome. He bets $5000 on this: in an April 9, 1965 exhibition game,
Mickey Mantle hit the first home run in this "8th Wonder of the
World". "What is the SkyDome?" No, it's the Houston Astrodome,
leaving him with $3000. He recovers to $11,400, enough to catch
Meredith's $21,900. Phil can spoil with $8400.
FINAL JEOPARDY! in "State
Capitals": it's the southern city in which the building seen
here is located; counting the panels may help. Correct
response: what is Austin?
There were six panels, one for each
of the governing bodies that Texas had in its history. Meredith
got the state (but not the city)... but she has the win as well
with $19,900. Craig leaves with $47,800. |

Tuesday at the Marketplace begins with
James ("a Hawaiian bro") and a Race to the Finish. Diamonds gets
you a video game suite with HDTV & Popchips worth $2168. Spades
gets you a $6099 bedroom. Hearts gets you a 2014 VW GOLF WORTH
$18,890! And of course, clubs gets you a ZONK. After 3, he's one
away from zonking out, but six more draws and he wins the video
games! He's down to his last draw. Next card will get him the
bedroom or the car or the trip back to his seat. He draws... THE
CAR! He quits with $21,058 in prizes. Mahalo, dude.
Debra (bunny) gets a box of cash. She can keep the money or trade
for a Small Box. What she gives up goes to Ayda (Statue of
Liberty). Debra... trades for the smallie and gets a pair of
diamond earrings worth $3332. Now Ayda... that money is yours
UNLESS you want to trade it for a silver envelope to Silvia
(ladybug). She decides to keep the cash, so Silvia gets the
envelope unless she wants to trade it for the Big Box on the
display floor. She trades a trip to Florida for... a new car....
cut in half! (ZONK!). Ayda still has that box of money... and she
has $3636!
Jacob (king) gets an Extreme Closeup of what's behind Curtain #1.
He decides to take it over the $1500 buyout and gets... a $4690
motorcycle! And all because he listened to the queen
(Crystal).
Melissa (tennis player) is going on a Gold Rush next for a 2014
MAZDA 2 WORTH $15,515! #8... gold for $500! #6... gold for $1000!
#3... boom goes the dynamite. She plays on with #1... more gold
for $500! She's going on with #4... more gold for $1000! That's a
good place to stop. The other bomb: #7.
Deborah (disco diva) is the Woman Who Can't Say No. Jennifer
(surfer) gets a small box or ... $700. Jennifer picks the smallie,
Deborah gets the money. Jennifer gets... designer accessories and
an iPhone 5 worth $3107. Next, Tawna (it's her birthday!) gets a
Big Box or... $1000. She takes the biggie and gets... a new
kitchen worth $3678! So Deborah now has $1700. Maybe she wants to
keep it. Maybe she wants to buy Curtain #2. She decides... to keep
the cash. She could've had... a trip to St. Thomas.
Troy (lightning) takes on Dana (soldier) in the Grab Bag. Done in
one. Troy gets red-balled, while Dana gets $500, which she can use
to buy Curtain #1. She does, and she gets a cactus living room (ZONK!)
Today's Big Deal is worth $26,113 Who's trading? It's Jacob with
his motorcycle. He picks Door #3. Behind Door #1... outdoor
furniture and a new grill worth $6438. Behind HIS door.... bikes
worth $2319. The big one was #2, a week in Australia plus a 2014
Chevy Spark.
Listen to the queen. |

We're celebrating Bob's birthday all
week by offering pets to loving homes. We're also offering prizes
to Lisa Hayashida, Bobbie Fishman, Ryan Valentino, and Brandon
Evans, like an HDTV. The $1200 TV goes to Lisa, who gets groceries
& maid service for a year if she wins Cliffhangers. Ice cream ball
for $20? Nope, but $25 gets us five spots. Glass vases for $32?
Nope, it's $36 for four more, giving us 16 spaces of play on a
kitchen utensil set. The price... $50... $40 guess is enough!
Ryan can turn an $820 snowboarding
equipment into a trip to Switzerland if he wins Squeeze Play. The
board: 129637. He pulls the 9... needed to pull the 6.
Next up, Brandon McMillan (from
CBS' "Lucky Dog") meets KC. KC comes to us from Chatsworth's West
Valley Shelter, because he needs a home. Alan Vucic takes a $900
foosball table. Maybe he has the insight on a Honda Insight in Gas
Money. The board...
$23,475
$25,885
$26,535
$24,635
$22,065
First pick is $22,065... and if we
were playing the first generation rules, it would've been a
winner.
Ryan spins out a win at the Big
Wheel. Meanwhile, Vincent Acosta goes down and up thanks to a $630
set of small electrics. He could also add an iMac and Gucci
accessories in Double Cross.
iMAC
3 4 2 5 7 9
1
4 3 6 2 9 0
ACCESSORIES
He goes with $2129 for the Mac and
$3615 for the accessories. RIGHT!
Bobbie wins a $1000 electric guitar
and a shot at a Dodge Journey in One Away. The price is not
$31,872. Is it $22,761? Nope, but we get two honks. $22,983? The
price... $20,981.
Last chance for Brandon comes with
cookware. The price: $1220. Winner.. Mickell McKinnon. She could
add on an outdoor barbecue island in Hi-Lo. Lowest in the Hi-Row:
$3.59 for 1-2-3 canola oil. Liberte Greek yogurt... $1.39. Country
Circle Oats... $4.49.
Bobbie spins out $1000 to win a
Spin-off. First up in the Showcase, a trip to Grand Cayman and a
Chevy Spark. Top winner Bobbie bids $22,000. Ryan gets a Christian
Dior men's watch, a trip to The Hamptons, and a Scion xD. He bids
$26,000. Actual price: $28,282, a difference of $2282. Actual
price of Bobbie's Showcase... $20,389. So it's all about Ryan with
$29,102!
And as always, if you don't live in or near the LA area, you can
find a furry friend at a shelter near your home. |

Trust Me, I'm A Game Show Host

TBS: 10:30p/9:30c
Hosts: Michael Ian Black & DL Hughley

Today, it's Natalie Hall, a wine sales
representative from St. Louis.
Round 1: Sniffing Smoke. So either a group of Russian bears have
become addicted to jet fuel and sniff it to get high... or "Holy
smoke" comes from the smoke seen when a new pope is elected. She
trusts Michael and his bears.... That's RIGHT! ("Holy smoke" comes
from a line in a Beaumont poem about burning incense).
Round 2: University of Men. Michael says that males at BYU
(C-Note: hi, Rachel!) must get permission before growing a beard,
while DL says that the horny toad was the mascot at Notre Dame
until the word "horny" took on a sexual meaning. She goes with
Michael again... and it's RIGHT again! The Fighting Irish were
originally Irish Terriers. Welcome to the ACC.
Round 3: Don't Tell the Kids. Was the face of the Ken doll modeled
after a female secretary at Mattell? Was Cookie Monster's original
name "Sid"? She goes with DL and "Sid".... and is three for three!
Round 4: Put Your Breast Foot Forward. Michael says that there's a
podiatrist who coined the term "toe-besity" for fat toes that he
can slim down. DL says that Hooters was founded by a woman with
ironically small breasts. She trusts Michael... Perfect through
four!
Round 5: Tastes Like Chicken. DL says that the KFC slogan in
Chinese mistranslates to "Eat Your Fingers Off" (C-Note: it's
true). Michael says that chickens refuse to eat eggs. She trusts
DL... and she is the first player in Trust Me I'm A Game Show Host
history to have a chance to run out!
The $20,000 Bonus Round Category: THE BIG HOUSE. Which one of
these facts about the White House is true?
- George Washington lived there for only three months.
- The Bush twins held their high school prom after-party at the
White House disco.
- Millard Fillmore gave his pet horse a bedroom downstairs.
- The first film screened in the White House was "The Wizard of
Oz".
- The White House bills the President for all the food his family
eats there.
She buys three lies for $6000, and we have no perfecto today. We
also don't have the Wizard of Oz, the pet horse, and George
Washington. For $29,000, she's going with "The White House bills
the President for all the food his family eats there.".... SEND
HER THE CHECK! |

John Didato (New York, NY) has $27,100
through 8 questions to begin today's show. He still has ATA
available.
[Q9 - Reboot]
When the 2013 Mac Pro was announced, news outlets reported that it
was the first Apple computer since the '90s to be billed as what?
A: Cheaper than $1,000
B: Made in the U.S.A.
C: 100-percent recyclable
D: Virus-proof
John is leaning towards A, but he decides to ask the audience. 41%
say B, while 30% say A. John says that that didn't help; he finds
B to be hard to believe given all the components that a computer
could have. With that, he goes with his initial instinct, saying
A... but it's B! As a result, he leaves with $1,000.
Kay Garrett (Muskogee, OK) - Goat rancher
With some audience help on the 3rd question, she gets $7,000.
Eventually, she jumps the 7th, which had $1,000. She then sees
this with $37,500...
[Q8 - King of Cliches]
With a move forever linked to the film "Titanic," people sometimes
yell "I'm the king of the world" while standing where on a boat?
A: Prow
B: Bilge
C: Helm
D: Hull
Kay is feeling a little gutsy. She's thinking C, going with
that... but it's A! That means she leaves with $1,000. |
