Top 30 Compete Season Premiere
May 26
Thirty home cooks have been chosen to enter the Kitchen of Dreams. They all have one thing in common... They want $250,000, their own cookbook deal, and the title of MasterChef. It all begins here and it all begins with a MasterChef apron. Win one, and you are well on your way.

Here are the 30 who have a chance at that prize...

- Francis Biondi (Orlando; server)
- Whitney Bray (Columbus; call center representative)
- Cutter Brewer (Beaumont, TX; petroleum landman)
- Elizabeth Cauvel (Brooklyn, advertising executive)
- Corey Charles (Pikeville, KY; winery manager)
- Ahran Cho (Palo Alto, CA; high school student)
- Gavin Edmondson (Meadville, PA; admissions counselor)
- Leslie Gilliams (Malibu; stay-at-home dad)
- Christian Green (New Orleans; sales representative)
- Gordon Houston (Irvine, CA; law student graduate)
- Jordan Kaminski (Muskego, WI; college student)
- Courtney Lapresi (Philadelphia; aerial dancer)

- Daniel McGuffey (Los Angeles; video game designer)
- Rickie Perez (Chicago; food truck manager)
- Amy Pezeshkifar (Tarzana, CA; graduate student)
- Ruth Schreber Sanchez (Yorba Linda, CA; stay-at-home mom)
- Victoria Scroggins (San Angelo; bartender)
- Christine Silverstein (Yonkers, NY; investment director)

- Michael Williams (Thibodeaux, LA; student)
- Dan Wu (Lexington, KY; unemployed)

These cooks will be given one hour to plate a stunning dish. On the other side of your board... a mirror. The point: you on a plate. Your story, your life, your signature dish.

BUT not all of you will make it through the next hour. The judges will be going through the kitchen and watching you. If they don't like what they see, you will be asked to leave.

WIN-AND-IN: You on a Plate

After a few moments, Gordon asks everyone to stop after 35 minutes... because someone is about to leave. That person... is GAVIN. The other 29 of you, continue...

With 10 minutes to go... Natanya is asked to take her broken sauce and go home.

And... TIMEl. Now the judges will take a final taste to determine who gets an apron and who goes home.

IN: Courtney, Willie, Dan, Jaimee, Victoria, Christine, Kira, Christian, Cutter, Daniel, Whitney, Tyler, Ahran, Jordan, and finally... Elizabeth!

For the other nine... it's better luck next... challenge? Yep, the judges are giving the other nine another chance. Using the same ingredients in any American kitchen and turn them into a dish worthy of MasterChef. However, they will cook alongside one of the judges. Of course, they all pick Gordon.

One hour against the best of the best...

... and with 10 minutes to go, Astrid has kept an unkempt work area.... but is given one final warning.

And the second chance cook-off ends with Gordon's dish... a Minted Shrimp Dumpling with sweet & sour broth. This is what you are shooting for.

First up, Corey, Leslie, and Little Gordon:

- Gordon: Seared Chicken Breast with Potato Puree
- Leslie: Stuffed Chicken Breast with Mashed Potatoes & Carrots
- Corey: Fried Chicken with Potato Soufflé

IN: Gordon, Leslie. Next, Astrid, Amy, and Michael.

- Astrid: Seared Chicken Breast with Potato Hash
- Amy: Shrimp & Chicken Tacos with Chimichurri Sauce
- Michael: Roasted Chicken with Corn Maque Choux

IN: Astrid. Finally...

- Francis: Spinach Pasta with Sous Vide Shrimp
- Chandis: Potato Rosti Stack with Spinach & Shrimp
- Elise: Chicken Pot Pie with Succotash

IN: Francis, and Elise. And with that, we have your final 22. One of them is America's next MasterChef. The journey begins NEXT TIME!
