Episode 4 - July 6
It's the last week of the regular season for Extreme
Dodgeball! Now you may think (as did I), well there's no
way that every team plays every other team. The answer
is - you're right, as they only play five matches. We
find out what the winning team gets; nice trophies and
$10,000.
First, a quick recap on the standings -
CPA - 4-0
Curves of Steel - 3-2
Barbell Mafia - 2-2
Ink. Inc - 2-2
SBD Mimes - 2-2
Armed Response - 1-2
Stallion Battalion - 1-2
Sumo Storm - 0-3
The first featured match will be the Stallion Battalion
against Barbell Mafia. The Mafia needs this to get in
the top half of the league. The Stallions need this
to... well, they don't need it.
Rosters -
Barbell Mafia -
Tyrone Rush - Captain (6'0", 55 mph) - Former pro
football player
Jeramy Freeman (6'0", 290) - Benches 650
Alan Grimes (5'10" 260)
Melissa Coates (5'5", 150)
Amazon Beard (5'5", 125)
Stallion Battalion -
Michael Pipkin - Captain (4'10", 95 pounds) - Former
Marine
Kenny Sanchez (4'10", 115 pounds) - Has won over 90
horse races
Mark Munoz (4'11", 110 pounds) - Stunt Jockey in 'Seabiscuit'
Christina Knisner (4'11", 95 pounds)
Lisette Garcia (5'1", 110 pounds)
Round 1 - The Mafia want it more - and it shows. They
pick off the jockeys, but Sanchez, down 3-1, makes a
huge rally to bring it down to him vs. Jeramy Freeman.
Sanchez has all of the balls, but instead of going for
the win, he tries to hit the regeneration target - and
Freeman catches Sanchez's throw for the Mafia win (Mafia
leads, 1-0).
Round 2 - The Jockeys use the everyone throw the balls
at one target strategy, and that works for awhile - but
the Mafia take control and once again, only Sanchez is
left. Sanchez goes for the regeneration target, but his
shot is deflected by the big ball that Tyrone Rush has
and the deflection is caught by Coates for the match.
(Mafia wins, 2-0)
In other league action...
CPA (4-0) Vs. Sumo Storm (0-3). Do you have to guess
here? (CPA, 2-0).
In our next match, Armed Response goes up against the
SBD Mimes.
Rosters -
Armed Response
David Benedetto (6'0", 51 mph) - Captain
Michelle Manumaleuna (5'7", 37mph)
Andrew Brawley (6'7", 275 pounds)
Laura Farley (5'6", 38mph)
Clay Kreuger (6'2", 50 mph)
SBD Mimes
Mark Pontius (6'0", 155)
Lamonte Goode (5'11", 165)
Laura Hight (5'4", 130)
Jolie Bailey (5'6", 115)
Steven Sande (6'5", 185)
This is the first time that we've seen the mimes.
Round 1 - Pontius is the first one eliminated, and that
spells trouble for the mimes. Lamont Goode is next, and
that is now easy pickings. Hight is left, and her throw
at the target is picked off by Benedetto (Armed Response
leads, 1-0).
Beyond the Ball will be going to see Mark Pontius, who,
contrary to his team affiliation, actually talks. He is
the complete package of mind, surfer and Dodgeball
Player. He says that he is the youngest and best
Dodgeball Player - and he wants all of the women of the
league. He'll get more women when his team wins more
matches...
Round 2 - ...and it won't be this one. the AR knock the
Mimes down to Pontius, and the sexy boy has a shot at
redemption. He doesn't get it, as his shoe at the
regeneration target is blocked and Krueger, on the
rebound, takes him out. (Armed Response wins, 2-0).
And we get more league action...
Ink Inc (2-2) Vs Sumo Storm (0-4) - SUMOS - Surely
Unleash My Oblivious Season (Ink Inc, 2-0).
Stallion Battalion (1-3) Vs Armed Response (2-2) -
Kreuger continues to go nuts as he decimates the
jockeys, and Laura Farley makes the match-clinching
catch. (AR, 2-0).
Your final regular season standings...
CPA - 5-0
Curves of Steel - 3-2
Barbell Mafia - 3-2
Ink. Inc - 3-2
Armed Response - 3-2
SBD Mimes - 2-3
Stallion Batallion - 1-4
Sumo Storm - 0-5
A great week from the Armed Response leaves a 4 team
logjam for second, but the CPA is the overwhelming
favorites come playoff time. We'll get the first round
of that next week. |
