What do you get when you take ANOTHER set of sixteen ugly ducklings, fly them to a mansion with no mirrors, then have them undergo radical transformations including plastic surgery, dental work, fitness regimens, and life coaching, THEN have them compete in a beauty pageant for hundreds of thousands of dollars in prizes? A second helping of "the most unusual competition ever devised for television."

"Where Are They Now?/Jennifer and Kimberly" - October 25

Which brings us to now. Sixteen average ducklings are about to undergo life-altering transformations. Some will go to the Pageant at the end of the season. Some will go home. All will be changed. Forever.

And speaking of change, the Swan team has picked up a new member, personal trainer Debbie Siebers (replacing outgoing Greg Comeaux). Now that THAT's out of the way, it's time to meet today's pair of egrets.

Jennifer Patten (30; mother of three from Mesa, AZ) is struggling with scars from her past. When she was six, she was trapped in a house fire, and as a result, suffered from third-degree burns all over her bodies. She's constantly taking a vigil over her kids, and her husband is worried that she has no friends to "do things with".

Dr. Haworth says it's impossible to remove her scars completely, but dermabrasion would help to lessen their appearance. Also of note: Dr. Worth notices that she'll need a full set of veneers. I finally looked this up after last season, and according to the dictionary, a "veneer" is an ornamental or protective facing. Well there you go. If anyone asks, you heard it here.

Face: Nose Job, Lip augmentation, Fat transfer (Cheeks, Under Eyes), Dermabrasion (Face, Neck)
Body: Breast augmentation, Liposuctions (Legs, Knees, Back, Abdomen), Tummy tuck
Dental: Crowns, Gum Surgery, Zoom Bleaching, DaVinci Veneers, Deep Cleaning
Fitness: 1200 kcal/day diet, 2 hr/day in the gym
Weekly therapy and coaching

Her competitor: Kimberly Wilburn (37; mother of four from Cleveland Heights, OH). She's a full-time mom with a very unusual childhood. Her mother died when she was 14. She was determined to graduate college. Children have taken their toll on her physically, as she's gained 65 pounds since giving birth for a second time. She thinks she has a beautiful figure underneath a lot of flag.

Dr. Ianni notes that her past may have been a source for strength early on, but has deteriorated. Dr. Dubrow wants to do a tummy tuck, breast lift, and face refinement. Debbie wants to attack the lower body.

Face: Liposuction (Chin, Cheeks), Eyelid Lift
Body: Breast augmentation, Tummy tuck, Liposuction (Arms, Legs, Tummy, Buttocks)
Dental: Zoom Bleaching, DaVinci Veneers, Deep Cleaning
Fitness: 1200 kcal/day diet, 2 hrs/day with intense cardio and weights
Weekly therapy and coaching

You have the knowledge, you know the odds, the rest is in the cards. Jennifer and Kimberly, welcome to the first day of the rest of your life. Just a reminder that every reflective surface has been treated, every mirror has been sealed, and every contraband has been properly dealt with. After last season, nothing is being left to chance.

Kimberly's initial consult with Dr. D: "Kim used to have a great body but a bad life. Now she has a good life. It's time for that great body." Going over the motions with a super-imped screen... Okay... At the moment before surgery, Kim agrees to do her nose as well, and she's very specific about what she wants done: "No pig snout, no pinch, no eagle nose, no gorilla nose, no Michael nose, no Brandy nose, no packing, and no pain." And just what's wrong with Brandy? We're all fine until Kim wakes up and finds herself in the middle of a panic attack, fearing that she will not be able to breathe.

Jennifer's initial consult with Dr. H: "At times she really looks beautiful, and at times you can see her beauty coming out. (about her scars) She's going to have a dramatic improvement, but it will not be absolutely perfect." Biggest challenge: scars and nose. Dr. H is pleased with his results on the day of surgery.

Kimberly's initial consult at the Nutri/system: She has 35 pounds to lose... and they're not going away easy. Not if Kim's appetite has anything to say about it.

Jennifer's dental appointment: "Basically needs a full mouth reconstruction." She gets that. She'll be back later to finish the job. That night, Jennifer calls the kids, giving her a bit of grief.

Now that the painful part is over, it's time for the hard part to begin. Kim has pain to overcome, while Jennifer is on the right foot with recovery, but on the wrong foot with her emotions, missing her kids and husband.

Meanwhile, Kim gets a visit from Nely (because she likes to drop in whenever someone's having issue). Her issue: not letting the professionals do their job. Examples: being defensive in therapy, wearing a girdle in the gym. She cries that she's being misunderstood. The truth is that people will help her if she lets them. One of those people that wants to help... Cindy from last season. Basically says that the only way to get through this is with a positive attitude.

At Jennifer's therapy session, she confronts her mother for leaving her in the burning house so many years ago through roleplay. As for the scars, Nely tells her to wear them "like jewels". I would've preferred "badges of honor" but any port in a storm.

But is it enough? Fast forward one month, and Kim is first to the reveal. Before, she was a run-over mother who didn't want a pig snout, a pinch, an eagle nose, a gorilla nose, a Michael... oh, you get it. Now... Very nice looking, but Roberta Flack called. She wants her face and body back. She's too busy working it, and for good reason. She looks "great", but how will she feel? It's time once again for the Mirror of Fate (TM, Chico Alexander). Whenever Kim is ready, the curtain will be drawn to reveal...

"Wow. Oh my God. Oh my GOD!! Oh my God... Look how little I am! (copping her own feel) Damn, girl!"

Damn indeed. On the other side of the coin, there's Jennifer. The experts wanted to draw attention away from scars physical and mental. She's stopped hiding, but does it show three months on? I'd say so, yeah. And for the first time, Amanda is speechless. Is that a good thing? Jennifer can't wait to go somewhere and not hide. And speaking of hiding, here's the mirror again.

And Jennifer is speechless as well. But who will move onto the pageant? Remember, the experts are judging on poise, beauty, overall transformation, and who can run a seven-minute-mile quicker. The first entry into the second Swan Pageant is... Jennifer Patten. Dr. Lynn noticed that she was committed, and Nely concurs. But before we say goodbye to Kimberly, we have husband Juan and the kiddies to reunite with their new mommy.

Next time we see Jennifer will be in a few weeks for the pageant. Hopefully the next time we see you will be next week. See you soon!
