Justin, Dave & Brandon (Boston
University students) |
|
Julia, Carly & Jill (trivia hounds & Penn State
grads) |
Round 1 ($100 per word): Connect
PLAY with EXPRESS. Dave gets PANDA EXPRESS. Jill gets to PLAY
DEAD, while Carly spells out #3, SEA. Brandon gets #4, GREEN.
Carly completes the chain with GIANT. The chain: PLAY - DEAD - SEA
- GREEN - GIANT - PANDA - EXPRESS. Speed Chain: TOM - P - C -
DRAWER. "Petty cash" does it for another $100, as the girls lead,
$400 to $200.
Round 2 ($200 per word): connect
PINK with POKER. Dave gets STRIP POKER. Julia gets #2, GRAPEFRUIT.
Dave gets #6, LANDING. The girls complete the chain again with
HALF and MOON. The chain: PINK - GRAPEFRUIT - HALF - MOON -
LANDING - STRIP - POKER. Speed Chain: GOOSE - F - B - CONSTRICTOR.
"Feather boa" gives the girls the lead, $1200 to $600.
The guys say they love the Red Sox.
You say you love the Red Sox, you're in New York City... what is
the expected reaction? That's right... BOO!
Round 3 ($300 per word): connect
SUPER with BEARER. Carly gets #6, RING, while David gets #2,
HUMAN. Julia gets #3, HEART. The guys suffer from "form of the
word" syndrome as the girls get HEART BROKEN. Carly completes the
chain AGAIN with PROMISE. The chain: SUPER - HUMAN - HEART -
BROKEN - PROMISE - RING - BEARER. The girls lead, $2400 to $900
going into the final Speed Chain: PUBLIC - A - B - HEAD. "Arena
bobble" doesn't do it. It's "Auction block".
Round 4: Connect EROTIC
with ATTACHED. The chain: EROTIC - FANTASY - LIFE -
COACH - PURSE - STRINGS - ATTACHED, but we don't get to
"coach" because the guys run out of money first, giving
the game and $2300 to the ladies.
Bonus... Round... Time:
Jill gets the blindfold. The ladies get fireworks, Big
Bird, hairnet, and the IRS, so they get the $2300.

Cheerleaders
(Susy, Stephanie, Janeen, Bibiana, Mabel), one game,
$500 |
|
Construction workers (Edward, Hector, Felix,
Jorge, Angel) |
We're going to work this
week with cheerleaders, constructors, pharmacists, and
personal trainers. First up, the girlies vs. the burlies.
After four rounds and a
clip from yesterday that... well, here's the clip.
Marco Antonio: Name
something associated with St. Valentine. (BUZZER: Angel)
Angel?
Angel: Christmas.
Anyway, after the Doubler,
the constructors lead, 273-52. Triple: Something that
serves to fix hair. Mabel fires with a hair blower. Good
for #1. We also see #3, a brush. The Constructicons
steal the game with comb, 537-52.
Felix and Angel go for Dinero
Rápido... Felix gets 102. Angel gets... a number one answer, but
it only puts the team at 182. They get $500.
|
Pharmacists (Massiel,
Eni, Hector, Martha, Geraldo); one game, $500 |
|
Personal trainers (Louis, Elizabeth, Nelson,
Tony, Catalina) |
After three, the trainers
lead, 170-0. Double: something that appears on your
drivers' license (4). Tony's birthdate beats Martha's
name, 2 to 3. A picture tells 1000 words and 184 points
for the pharmacists. Other answer: license number.
Triple: something kids
dream of being when they grow up (4). Doctor is the big
one for Geraldo. Massiel is like her daddy for #4. A
fireman is also up there. What's #3? The trainers go
with the police... Got it for 413-184.
At the DR board this
time... Louis and Nelson the Marine. They get 153 for
$500 more. |

Mia Jefferies
(dolphin trainer; was an extra in a Titanic exhibit) |
|
Milton Smith (speed
dating host from Los Angeles; confused for Garth
Brooks) |
|
Brooklyn Drogman
(was one hit on by Vince Vaughn) |
Round 1: Hilary Swank and
William Shatner were both on game shows before, but
never like this. Yep, followed by a Celebrity Trainwreck.
It can only be Anna Nicole Smith. Alec Baldwin leads us
into break, with Brooklyn leading, 350 to Mia's 200 and
Milton's 150.
Round 2: points are
doubled; intensity is tripled. Kevin Bacon gets the
third degree, as we go "Below the Beltway". Clues:
wooden, "I've got your hanging chad right here," "Be
gentle with the Tipper". It's Al Gore. Next, a Mug Shot
of Michelle Rodriguez. Mia pulls into the lead with 800
to Brooklyn's 550. Milton still has 150.
Round 3: let's put on our
"Fitties". 50 Cent gets his props today. Milton can't
seem to get his head out of third with 750. Brooklyn
gets 1150, and by the appropriate sum of "fitty", Mia
wins with 1200.
Bonus Round for a trip to
the Caribbean: it's between Fred Savage & Fred
Flintstone. Mia only gets eight for $800. |
