Eugene Manning
(US Army specialist from Honolulu, HI); $10,000 |
|
Reda Chambers
(substitute teacher from Chandler, AZ) |
|
Brad Jeffcoat
(student from Vidalia, GA) |
Can we end season 22 with
a bang?
Eugene starts with $200
Take Your "Med"s. At the TV time out, Reda leads, $1800
to Brad's $1600. Gene only has $800.
Reda finds the Daily
Double under $1000 US Lakes & Rivers. She bets $2000 on
this: in 1819 the Independence became the first
steamboat used on this river. "What is the Mississippi?"
Nope, it was the Missouri, dropping her to $1200. She
jumps back up to $3000. Brad leads with $3600, but
Eugene, with $1600, starts Double Jeopardy!...
... with $400 The
Brethren, finding the first Daily Double under $1200 The
Testament. He bets $5000 on this: "After these things
Paul departed from Athens, and came to Corinth". "What
is Acts?" Right
for $10,600 and the lead! He can strike again with the
second
Daily Double under $1600 John Grisham. He bets $2000 on
this: the title character of this Grisham novel is
11-year-old Mark, who hires a lawyer, Reggie Love. "What
is 'The Client'." Right for $16,200, where he ends the
round against Brad's $8400. Reda has $7800.
Final Jeopardy! in "Americana":
a monument at this Nebraska site bears the words "He
ain't heavy, Father... he's m' brother". Correct
question: What is (Girls &) Boys Town?
Reda & Brad are both
correct, Brad almost doubling up with $16,400. Eugene
bets just enough to win.... but blanks out on the
answer, leaving him with $11,000, and that's the way
season 22 ends.
We're going into a six-week recess. Brad will defend his
championship on September 11. See you then! |

Number one answer for 166! Other answer: India... okay,
now to the triple round...
Triple Round: an event in
school in which your parents must be present. Marina
fires with graduation, #1. Reunion is #2. Morales think
that sickness is #3.... and the Chacons are the new
champs, 412-221. Other answer: festival.
Kelly & Carlos take to
the DR board again. Kelly draws from the basket...
puntos extra! Kelly gets 59. Carlos gets only up to 68.
Extra points are moot, since they only go up to 50,
