Judy Rudnick
(physician from Honolulu, HI) |
July has arrived, and
already someone is causing sparks. Will Susannah
continue?
Susannah starts with $200
Seans, Shawns & Shauns. At the TV time out... the champ
is sputtering, tied with Judy at $1400. Mike, meanwhile,
has $4600.
Mike finds the Daily Double under $800
Biblical People. He
bets $1600 on this: this apostle, an effective
missionary, is sometimes called the "Second Founder" of
Christianity. "Who is Peter?" Nope. It was Paul, as Mike
drops to $2800. He goes back up to $3800, while Susannah
returns to form with $4200. Judy, with $2600, will start
out Double Jeopardy!...
... with $400 3 Es for
Me!. Mike finds the first Daily Double under $2000 The
US Census. Mike? "I'm gonna go all-in." For $6800... for
19 years in a row, it has had the highest-percentage
population increase of any state. "What is Nevada?"
Correct for $6800! Judy, meanwhile, puts a level wager
on the second Daily Double, $1600 Zoology. The clue: the
greater long-nosed species of this is found only in the
rain forest & usually has 7 or 8 bands, not 9. "What is
an anteater?" Nope, it was an armadillo, giving Judy
$5000. She drops further to $4600, while Mike leads with
$11,200. Susannah is in the middle with $9400.
Final Jeopardy! in "Oscar-Winning Singers":
2 of the 4 people who've had a Billboard No. 1 Pop Album
& also won a regular acting Oscar. Correct question: Who
is Bing Crosby, Jamie Foxx, Frank Sinatra or Barbra
Streisand?
Susannah, the only one
who gets it right, scores the W today with $18,800,
giving her $56,001 for two days. |

So the Mirandas managed
to crack the DR code. Question is now... can they do it
again?
Round 1: something that
makes for a romantic evening
(5). Marcos? "Velas." Candles are number one! We also
get flowers and wine, but the Mirandas get the steal.
How about music? Got it for 84. Other answer: dinner.
Round 2: an activity with
tools that only your neighbor happens to do in the
middle of the night (6).
Dainery hammers out #1. And that's it for the
challengers, while the Mirandas drill for the steal,
giving them 124. Other answers: repair the lights, saw,
mow the lawn, fix the car.
Round 3: a food that when
prepared is round (7). Delviz takes the question with
bread for #7. Jorge gets #3, pizza. Genaro gets #5,
tortilla. The Medinas try to steal with a cake.. number
one for 57! Other answers: jell-o, hamburger, pancake.
Double Round: if you had a business, something you would
use to advertise it (4). Ana fires with TV, #1. Radio,
newspapers, and internet complete the sweep for 241.
Triple Round: a desert
(4). Jorge gets #1, the Sahara. Next, Arizona. The
Medinas have one last chance. They go with Colorado..
No! The Mirandas take it, 325-241. Other answer: Sonora,
Mojave.
Dinero Rápido: Genaro and
Jorge #2 are back at the board. Jorge gets 168. Again,
Genaro can't secure one more number one, but together,
they get enough for another $5000. that brings them to
$10,000.
No show tomorrow. Come
back Wednesday to see if they can make it three for
three.
