We get bold and beautiful a
bit later, but first...
From Santa Fe, NM, here's
Brian Berg! His secret... "I build the world's tallest
tower of playing cards." Jermaine gets that the item is
used in the house. Suzanne gets something unusual made
of paper. Frank gets playing cards. Billy puts one and
one and one together. And we get a picture... 25 feet
tall, 133 card stories. He's going to go back stage and
build a card house for display at the end of the show.
But first, straight from
"The Bold & the Beautiful," sans light-pen... Lorenzo
Lamas! His secret... a brush with fame. Suzanne gets a
famous man. Frank gets a funny TV entertainer, still
alive and still working. Conference! Billy gets talk
show host. Jermaine gets Regis Philbin. Now the brush.
Which isn't gotten.
His secret: "I was Regis
Philbin's personal trainer."
And Brian's still
building...
Next, Aaron & April
Armstrong of Brighton, MA. The secret: "I won a race
with my wife strapped on my back." Frank gets a sporting
event involving speed. Billy gets a race. Jermaine gets
a race. Suzanne gets the rest. With a little help from
Frank. Video footage time!
And now, the grand
unveiling of Brian's card city... It has a tower, a few
houses, and a coliseum. Nice. But Bil steals Jermaine's
thunder by knocking it all down. Bil smash!

Host: Bob Barker |

There've been a lot of HDTVs
going out of 33 recently. Could this be a sign?
Janet Franco, Willard
Langham, Damian Reno, and Pamela Crosby try for the set,
but Pamela picks it up at $2599. She gets to walk the
Golden Road with a can of hominy that could lead her to
a set of luggage, a round crib, a Chevrolet Corvette
convertible worth over $61,000! The hominy is 73c, and
the luggage is $_93. Does a 7 or a 3 go in that blank?
She says 7... It's 7! Next, the crib at $2_69. Is it a
7, 9, or 3? She goes with 3... Right on! Convertible
time! The price is $61,_25. Is it a 2? A 3? A 6? A 9?
She goes with a 9....
The price... $61,925!
Janet wins a $2595 gas
pump replica, but can she win some gas money? $10,000 is
on the line at the Punchboard. She gets a cereal
dispenser, a CD/radio, a bamboo teapot, and a coin
sorter for four punches. First punch.. $50. Second:
$500. Third... $50... Fourth... $100... and a second
chance. The second chance... $1000! That's $1100 for
Janet! And all she had to do was punch.
Omima Edilbe wins a $550
set of sleds and toboggans. Now the real challenge:
pricing his&hers bikes and a sofa in 30 seconds. She
gets the $898 bikes in about 20, but doesn't get to the
sofa. Darn. Well, at least she gets into the Showcase.
Frances Rigdon gets a
shot on stage after getting a Pop-a-Shot game worth
$1895. The game is Double Prices, and the prize is a day
sailer, either $7321 or $6041. She goes with $6041.
Wrong choice.
Willard wins a
fridge/freezer worth $729 in round 5, as he gets a
chance to shoot for a Ford Focus. First number: 1. First
die: 1. Higher. Second die: 5. Lower. Third die: 2.
Higher. Fourth die: 2. Exacta. Price... $16,432! That's
a win!
Anghu Abat plays spoiler
to Pamela, as she wins a $1124 telescope. She now has a
shot to Pick-a-Pair for a golf cart and golf clubs.
First picks: Airborne at $6.99 and Garlique at $8.99.
She keeps the Airborne, and takes Pamprin... $6.99!
Breakeven! And Williard takes his car to the Showcase...
First up: Acting class.
Brandi plays roles for an iPod, an off-road motorcycle,
and a travel trailer. Top winner Willard passes to Omima,
who bids $23,000. Willard gets a year's worth of
Hawaiian flowers, a dining group with dinnerware, and a
trip to Morocco. He bids $16,000. Actual price...
$15,458. Over by only $500 and chance. Omima's Showcase
comes up to... $26,913. She wins $28,361! Amazingly
enough, had Willard gone with Bob's $15,000, he would've
won the day.
Stats: even, $128,295. |

With College Week rolling on
at Walt Disney World's Play It! attraction, Emily Guskin
(Potomac, MD) has made it to $2,000 so far. How will she
do today?
Emily, a senior at the University of Maryland, has been
to WDW before, and is normally used to being on rides
while there, so she is finding it weird to be just
sitting in the hot seat at this time. Also, she likes to
have every moment of her life planned out, no matter
what. Maybe she planned for herself to win big, here?
We'll see, as the game resumes. She goes through a
couple of questions, then faces this...
[$16,000]
What part of Ralph Fiennes' face was digitally removed
for his portrayal of Lord Voldemort in "Harry Potter and
the Goblet of Fire"?
A: Eyes
B: Mouth
C: Ears
D: Nose
Emily has seen the movie, but needs some time to think
about this. She then uses the 50:50, which leaves B and
D. She's still not sure, though, so she asks the
audience. Both polls favour D (88% of the studio
audience; 73% of the AIM users) over B (12%; 27%). Emily
then trusts them... and they're right! She then secures
the $25,000, before seeing this...
[$50,000]
In physics, which of the following is normally measured
as 32 feet per second per second?
A: Speed of sound
B: Acceleration of gravity
C: Rotation of the Earth
D: Centrifugal force
[Before anyone asks, no, the repetition of "per second"
in the question is not a typo.]
Emily isn't sure, so she switches it out. After seeing
that it was B, she then has this...
[$50,000] (Q)
In the 1986 movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off," Ferris
performs at a parade honoring what historical figure?
A: Friedrich von Steuben
B: Charles Cornwallis
C: Marquis de Lafayette
D: Johannes Gutenberg
Emily has this on VHS, but she again takes her time to
think. Eventually, she decides to call her friend, Josh,
but he's not sure, though he guesses A before time runs
out. Emily then goes with D... but Josh's guess was the
right one! It was A! Oh well, at least Emily is heading
home with $25,000!
Next up is Trevor Hykes (Del Rio, TX), a junior at the
University of Texas. He has plans on joining the armed
forces, and he's already taking some classes for the Air
Force. Despite this, he's nervous in the hot seat. Well,
it can do that to a lot of people... Anyway, Trevor
starts by knowing that students who are said to be in
the "Class of 2006" are set to graduate in 2006 (don't
be surprised to see some of 'em work at Old Navy for a
bit, though). He sweeps the lower tier, then eventually
gets to $4,000.
That's all for today. Trevor will be back in the hot
seat tomorrow, as College Week wraps up. |
