I've
Got a Secret by Chico Alexander, GSNN
Air time: 11:30p ET/10:30p CT on GSN
Host: Bil Dwyer |

Uh, oh, Frank is carrying
the show.
First
player tonight is Kathy Young from Old Mystic, CT. Her
secret: "I have the world's smallest waist." Bil thinks
he's on "Lingo." Jermaine gets that he can see it if she
was naked. Suzanne gets that she doesn't have any extra
something. Frank nails it. "I'm going to guess... do you
have a ridiculously small waist?" We get to see the
waist, which is only 15 inches.... with the corset on.
So it's off to the land of parting gifts for her.
Game #2 and we have
another celebrity with another secret. You remember him
from "LA Law". He's got a new series on USA called
"Psych". It's Corbin Bernsen! His secret involves an
interesting collection. Suzanne gets that some of them
are made of plastic. Frank gets that they are not all
the same size nor age. Billy gets this hint: "Sometimes
the sports ones fail" and that each one is less than a
foot in size. Jermaine gets that you can buy them in a
gift shop. And he would've gotten the whole thing. Now
Corbin gets one more clue in... "Rosebud." Frank's got
it.
His secret: "I collect
snow globes". Corbin's got over 6000. And he's got a few
of them with him, including one with Philco on it and
one from the '39 World's Fair.
Finally, 18-year-old
college student Caroline McCaskey from Stockton, CA. Her
secret: "I am a champion saw player." Frank gets that it
has to do with a non-stringed, non-horned musical
instrument. Jermaine gets that this is NOT a traditional
instrument. Suzanne gets a big hint: it's a tool. Frank
takes us home, baby. He's got it! "Do you use a bow to
play this? Is it a saw, baby?"
Caroline said that she
started with a violin. She's going to the land of
parting gifts, and the panel is three-for-three tonight.
Caroline plays us out with her champion saw and "The
Star-Spangled Banner"... How patriotic.

Bob Mesko
(arts administrator from Denver); $68,599, five days |
|
Kathleen Larkey
(ESL teacher/program coordinator from Vancouver, BC) |
|
Rodney Waites
(law school administrator from Tuscaloosa, AL) |
Bob Mesko has his five,
although for him it was a long time come. How much can
he rack up in his run next?
Bob starts up with $200
2005 Obits. Rodney wastes no time in finding the Daily
Double under $400 Dogs at Work. He bets the max of $1000
on this: there are 6 AKC-recognized breeds called this,
the most appropriate type of dog to tell, "Fetch!" "What
are retrievers?" Right for $1400! He'd lose it all by
the game break, though. He'd gain it all back by the
half, but against Bob's $7800 and Kathleen's $4600,
Rodney would have the dubious honor of starting Double
Jeopardy!...
... with $400 The "UN"
Countries, finding the first Daily Double under $1200.
He goes all in on this: the May 1943 battle of this
country ended the Axis hold on North Africa. "What is
Tunisia?" Right for $4400! Last category in play is
Constellations, as Bob finds the final Daily Double
under $1200. He risks $4000 on this: the water jar in
this constellation is represented by a Y-shaped group of
4 stars. "What is Aquarius?" Right for $16,600. Almost
in the lead. He would take the lead with $18,200, while
Kathleen would end up with $11,400 and Rodney, $13,200.
Final Jeopardy!
in "World Leaders": in 1984 his grandson
succeeded his daughter to become his country's prime
minister. Correct question: Who is Jawaharlal Nehru?
Kathleen is the only
person to get it right, so wagering will be important...
And indeed it is. Kathleen, in utter disbelief, wins
with $13,400, while Bob leaves... again... with $70,599. |

Who
Wants to Be a Millionaire by Don Harpwood, GSNN
Air time: Check listings or
millionairetv.com
Host: Meredith Vieira |

Last time, Patrick Neitz
(Brooklyn, NY) made it to $8,000. He doesn't have any
lifelines left at this time, but will that stop him from
advancing further in his 15-question stack?
After mentioning once again that he has gone from being
flat broke 20 years ago to being a graphic designer now,
Patrick mentions that when he walks along the street,
people say "Hi" to his dog. They don't know his name,
but they do know the name of his dog. Maybe after his
appearance here, they'll know his name. Anyway, the game
resumes...
[$16,000]
Appearing at the end of many country names, the suffix
"-stan" originates from what language?
A: Turkish
B: Russian
C: Persian
D: Arabic
Patrick doesn't know this one, so without any lifelines,
he decides to walk. After seeing that it was C, he
leaves with $8,000.
Next up is Paul Tardabona (Brooklyn, NY). He's a snappy
dresser, and he feels that kids don't pay much attention
to clothes these days. He says that if he can't win a
million, he'll look like a million. Here's hoping he
does win a million, though, because then, he'd be the
first one in a few years to do so here. Paul starts by
knowing that a man usually gets rid of his "five o'clock
shadow" by shaving. He sweeps the lower tier, before
getting to this...
[$2,000]
Found in Asia and Africa, jackals belong to the same
family as what domesticated animals?
A: Dogs
B: Cats
C: Horses
D: Sheep
Paul isn't 100% sure, so he turns to the audience for
help. Both polls show a lot of support for A (81% of the
studio audience; 77% of the AIM users). So, Paul trusts
them... and they're right! Next question...
[$4,000]
In a pro football game, a kicker may only prop the ball
on a tee for what type of kick?
A: Kickoff
B: Field goal attempt
C: Punt
D: Extra point attempt
The 50:50 leaves A and D. Paul says A... and he's right!
Another question later, and this shows up...
[$16,000]
In 2005, what singer launched the socially conscious
fashion label Edun, which is "nude" spelled backward?
A: Alanis Morissette
B: Bono
C: Sheryl Crow
D: Seal
Paul calls his wife's cousin, Anthony, but he's not
sure. With that, Paul walks with $8,000. By the way, the
answer was B.
[This is the 4th straight player to walk with $8,000.]
In the hot seat now is Claudia Shanaman (York, PA). She
was once on Jeopardy, but she wound up with a guitar and
some parting gifts. In other words, she probably didn't
win. Maybe she'll do better here... Claudia starts by
knowing that fugitives are listed on the FBI's famous
"Ten Most Wanted" list. She secures the $1,000, then
eventually faces this...
[$8,000]
Capri pants are named for a picturesque resort island
located off the coast of what country?
A: Spain
B: Turkey
C: Italy
D: Mexico
Claudia asks the audience, and both polls favour C (81%;
64%). Claudia trusts the audience... and they're right!
On to the next one...
[$16,000]
Which of these words comes from a Greek word meaning "a
person who eats at someone else's table"?
A: Scavenger
B: Parasite
C: Vermin
D: Cannibal
The 50:50 leaves A and B. Claudia then calls her
stepson, Matthew, and he says B. So, Claudia trusts
him... and it's B!
And there's the horn. We'll see Claudia again tomorrow. |
