Turner (Mignon,
Cameron, Eniko, Kevin, Debbie); $665 |
|
Darcy (Sheila,
Mike, Carrie, Tommy, Maureen) from Chicago |
Round 1: what might you
do right after your boss says "you're fired" (full board)?
Sheila has a good cry for #1. The Darcys also look for
another job and just say "You can't fire me, I quit!"
The Turners try to steal with updating the resume... Not
there! The Darcys get 40. Other answers: leave (said!),
tell them off, clean out desk (also said!), hit
him/revenge, ask/wonder why.
Round 2: something many
people say a little prayer before doing (6). Athletics
is good for Cameron at #5, but Mike eats up the question
for #1. Only thing is that the Darcys follow up with
going to bed. The Turners try again with "flying".. Got
it for 59! Other answers: doctor/surgery, going on a
drive.
Double Round: 100 married
women, a famous store you wish your husband owned (6).
Eniko fires with #2, Tiffany's. Stupid answer coming...
Kevin: "Victoria's Secret?" Mignon also scores with #3,
Wal-Mart. The Darcys try for the steal with Macy's...
Number one! They get 98. Other answers: Saks Fifth
avenue, Starbucks, Bloomingdale's.
Triple Round: a place
where someone gives their car to a stranger (4). Kevin
gets number one, a restaurant. The champs also get a
hotel, a car wash, and an auto shop to win, 338-98.
Mignon and Cameron try it
again in Fast Money... and get it done in eight for a
two-day total of $20,665. |

Ben Goggins
(retired marine biologist from Tybee Island, GA);
$46,800, two days |
|
Barbara Watkins
(stay-at-home-mom/attorney from Oak Park, IL) |
|
Doc Hamilton
(advanced customer care agent from Nashville) |
Ben, Barbara... the Doc
will see you now.
Ben starts his third game with $200
Let's Take a Trip, finding the Daily Double under $600.
He bets the max of $1000 on this: anytime the head or
tail of his Danish statue is vandalized, it's repaired
using the original 1913 mold. "What is the Copenhagen
Mermaid? The Little Mermaid?" Right for $1400.
Last clue in the
Jeopardy! round remains hidden, as Ben storms into the
lead with $8800, Doc in the game with $3300, and Barbara
at $1200 start Double Jeopardy!...
... with $400 Art.
Barbara finds the first Daily Double deep in the round
under $1600 15-Letter Words. She bets $2000 of her $5600
on this: the emission of light by living organisms like
fireflies. "What is bioluminescence?" That... would've
gotten her the money. Instead, photoluminescence drops
her to $3600. Doc finds the second Daily Double under
$1200 The Non-Category. He makes it true. The clue: MLK
Jr. said the "Gandhian emphasis on love and" this led
him to the method for social reform that he'd been
seeking. "What is nonviolence?" And he's in the lead
with $10,400! He ends with that much, while Ben has
$7200 and Barbara has $5600.
Final Jeopardy!
in "Notable Women": she was the 31st person--&
the first woman--to lie in state or honor in the US
Capitol. Correct question: Who is Rosa Parks?
Ben is right to double
up... It's all on Doc... He's right... And he bets $4001
to win $14,401. Ben leaves with $48,800. |

Starting today's show are
Adam Briscolara, Anthony Robinson, Linda Savage,
Michelle Jones, and an HDTV worth $2599. Michelle, only
$199 off, wins it and a chance at an offroad motorcycle
and a floor clock at Barker's Bargain Bar. The
motorcycle is marked $2174. The clock is marked at
$3025. Which is the bigger markdown? She goes with the
bike. The clock is $3925, a $900 bargain. The motorcycle
is $3374, a win with a $1200 difference.
Linda wins a $750 sofa in
round 2 and a chance to Cover Up for a Chevrolet Malibu.
The setup...
3
1 7
7 0 4
0 3 5 8
3 7 1 4 6
1 3 0 7 2
$2 1 4 8 5
The first Cover Up is
$17,313... The first three are right. Second Cover-Up:
$17,358. The 5 is right. Is the price $17,354? Two
dollars off. It's $17,352.
New entry from round 2
Eric Huggins wins a $500 picnic package in round 3, en
route to a chance for a baby grand piano playing the new
Balance Game. Four bags: $271, $2000, $5000, and $7000.
He sets his scale at $7271... Not it. Should've used the
$2000 and the $7000 for the $9271 piano. Eric may not be
any good at the balancing, but at the spinning, he's a
master. He'll be back for the Showcase.
Anthony may yet join him
as he wins a $999 DVD camcorder in round 4. Will he use
it to record his new home gym, his new dinette, and his
new popcorn cart? His game is Barker's Markers, and the
prices are $2175, $1389, $1747, and $2725. He marks the
first three. After Bob presents him with five Benjamins,
he gets the offer to change the marker after $1747 was
revealed for the gym and $1389 was revealed for the
popcorn cart. Will he switch his marker? Nope. He
should've.
Round 5 promises a lamp
to Heather Cropper for $659. She now gets a shot at
something with a light and four wheels... a new Ford
Focus! The game is That's Too Much! She thinks $17,121
is Too Much! and That's Too Much indeed! She wins the
car!
Last chance for Adam to
make a move. Last item up for bids: flatware. ARP: $900.

playing Hit Me. The house shows an Ace. The products on

Maxwell House decaf ($28.50), Goldfish crackers ($1.78),
Viactiv chews ($63.92), and Smucker's blackberry jam
($13.40). The 89c Goldfish gives Adam a deuce. The Hot
Pockets at $2.29 gives Adam 12. The calcium chews at
$3.35 gives Adam 16 against the dealer Ace. Hole card
up... a 9. Dealer 20 beats Adam's 16.
But lo, he will not be
defeated, because he joins Eric in the Showcase. First
up, Broyhill's 100th Anniversary bedroom group with
sleep set, luggage, and an African photo safari. Top
winner Adam bids $15,000. Eric gets ways to tell you've
partied too much involving a dishwasher, a sauna, and a
Ford Mustang convertible. He bids $32,000. Actual price:
$29,309. He's over. Actual price of Adam's Showcase...
$25,062. He's your big winner with $25,962.
Stats: 2-4, $55,065. |
