Lewis (Danielle,
Shannon, Shirley, Alfred, Jo) |
|
Pierucci
(Chris, Joe, Alan, Tiffany, Andie) from Houston;
$20,000 |
Jeopardy! isn't the only
game show with a revolving champ problem. Will the
Pieruccis buck that trend?
Round 1: a rule at a
drive-in theatre (6). Chris tries "No packing people in
the trunk"... Count it with "no sneaking in" for
#4. Joe turns his lights off with #2. The Lewises have
four choices... "No making noise." Number one! The
Lewises have 32 Other answers: return speaker, stay in
car, no littering.
Round 2: something a
hospital patient doesn't like seeing a nurse holding
(6). Shannon gets a catheter ready for #2, while Joe
sticks with a syringe for #1. The rest of the family
goes one, two, three on strikes, giving the Lewises
another shot with a rectal thermometer... Not there, 85
to the champs! Other answers: bedpan, blood, results,
enema.
Double Round: something
you worry about even on vacation (full board). Shirley:
"Leaving the water on"... Counts for #2, security. Alan
gets #1, money. The rest of the champs get job, "her
babies", pets, and.... forgetting something? The Lewises
hope so... Not there! Pieruccis get 253! Other answer:
bad weather.
Triple Round: someone you
talk over your sex life with (4). Tiffany talks
with her sister for #3, while Alfred talks with his wife
for #2. Jo talks to his psychiatrist for #4. Best friend
does it for the sweep and the win, 317-253.
Alfred and Shannon take
on the Fast Money board for $575. |

Maj. Scott Gardiner (Army
lawyer from Tampa); $18,801 |
|
Lara Beaton
(software tester from Vancouver, BC) |
|
James Washick (professor
from Greenville, SC) |
It seems as if we're
getting the results from the Vancouver audition for the
last fortnight. But our American Army lawyer shows no
fear as Scott starts with $200 SI's Signs of the
Apocalypse. James leads at the break with $4600 to
Lara's $1200 and Scott's $1600.
The Emmy-winning writing
team channels Douglas Adams today with categories So
'Long' and & Thanks for All the Fish. The latter
features the Daily Double under $1000, a video. James
risks $2000 on this: the name of the type of fish seen
here also means "an elevated position". "What is cod?"
Nope, perch. It's $4400 for him as Scott ends up with
$2600. Lara, who gets the last clue, has $2800 and the
first go in Double Jeopardy!...
... with $400 Canals,
finding the first Daily Double under $2000. She wagers
the level on this: located at Sault Ste. Marie, the St.
Marys Falls Canal connects these two Great Lakes. "What
is Lake Superior and Lake Michigan?" She's half right.
It's Superior and Huron, leaving her with a $4800 tie
with Scott. She'll get a chance to make it up with $1200
Independence Days. She fronts $2000 again on this: this
Asian island nation gained independence from the US in
1946 but celebrates its 1898 freedom from Spain on June
12. "What is the Philippines?" Right for $7600! She'll
end up at $10,400 to Scott's $9200, but it's James'
game.. almost... with $20,000 even.
Final Jeopardy!
in "20th Century Books": Chapter 1 of this
book tells us: "Worse than the ordinary miserable
childhood is the miserable Irish childhood". Correct question:
What is "Angela's Ashes"?
Lara's right, as she bets
it all. James will have to get it right and bet at least
$400 to come back... He does. He comes back Monday with
$20,801. Maj. Gardiner leaves with $19,801. |
