Shamika, Maily, Denita, Brenda) |
|
Pomano
(Kelly, Holli, Heather, Hailey, Mary); $1525, two
days |
Round 1: something you
might catch up on (6). Chi fires with number 2, sleep.
Kelly says newspaper... reading counts. It's number one.
Bills and work also make the board, but the Huynhs go
with housekeeping to steal the 73. Other answer: soap
operas/TV
Round 2: something that
people soak (5). Shamika gets the top answer in with
their bodies (feet/themselves). Beans and laundry also
build the bank, but what about pots and pans? The
Pomanos hope so for the steal... No! The Huynhs are up
to 163! Other answers: dishes (said!), dentures (also
said!).
Double Round: something
that starts with the word "space" (full board).
Maily makes the Huyns 3-for-3 with spaceship. Space
saver is also gotten, but the Pomanos get the steal with
space bar. Not there, giving the Huynhs 215. Other
answers: space cadet, space shuttle, spacecraft, Space
Invaders.
Triple Round: something
people play for hours and hours (4). Hailey loves
playing video games for number one. Cards and music also
make the boards. Sports is the Hyunhs' choice for the
steal.... Huynhs win, 503-0!
Husband and wife Chi and
Shamika ride Fast Money for $760. |

John Ward (musician
from Blue Hill, ME); $11,599 |
|
Christine Black
(administrative assistantoriginally from St. Petersburg,
FL) |
|
Nick Ruiz (student
orig. from South Lake Tahoe, CA) |
(C-Note: As you may or
may not know, I am a practicing Buddhist, so to see John
start the game off with $200 Buddhism's Eightfold Path
brings a smile to my face.)
Inner peace comes to
Christine early with the Daily Double under that
category for $600. She bets $1000 on this: the Right
Views aren't the ones out your window; they concern the
4 Noble Truths & this, Sanskrit for "action" or "fate".
"What is karma?" That would've gotten her the money.
Instead, "I have no idea" leaves her with -$600. She
rebounds to $3000, not enough to catch Nick's $3600.
John, with $2400, starts, gets to go first in Double
Jeopardy!...
... with $400 Cities by
the "Ton", in which Nick finds the first Daily Double
under $2000. Erynn has the lead when John finds the Daily
Double. Nick goes for half the level on the capital
controlled at times by Britain, France, Spain, the
Republic of West Florida, the CSA, and the US. "What is
Montgomery?" Nope. It's Baton Rouge, dropping him
to $2200. After a visit from Mr. Moviefone, we blend
words for $1200, the second Daily Double. Christine bets $1500 on this:
in 1960, Manfred Clynes combined these 2 words to create
cyborg. "I don't know." "What is cybernetic
organism?" would've given her the money. She drops
to $1100. After this non-event of a game, John and Nick
are in a dead-heat with $6400 and $6200, respectfully.
Christine could play spoiler with $3100.
Final Jeopardy!
in "Nature": far from the mainland, Hawaii is
poor in native mammals: it has 2, a type of seal & a
type of this, order Chiroptera. Correct question:
What is a bat?
No one gets it as
Christine wins this one .... winning... get this...
$600. John leaves with $13,599. Nick leaves with $1000. |
