Burton is decked out luau-style
because one of eight families can win up to $130,000 and a trip to
Hawaii on Family Feud's annual winner-take-all Tournament of
Champions! So far, the pot is at $50,000, and the Rambos and
Wordlaws are out to eliminate each other for it.
|
Rambo
(Jack, Angela, JR, Natalie, Jay) |
|
Wordlaw (Birlus,
Erica, Deborah, Craig, Kent) |
|
JACKPOT: $50,000 |
Round 1:
something some men wear and some men don't (full board).
Birlus is stymied... but comes up with underwear...
number 1! They get earrings, toupees, hats, sneakers,
and ties as well. The Rambos go with cologne for the
steal... Got it for 72! Other answer: undershirts.
Round 2: something people
arrive early for so they can get a good seat (6). Angela
gets #1, a movie. We also see a sporting event, a play,
church, a concert, The Wordlaws try to steal with a
wedding... And it's an 18-point Feud! The Wordlaws have
91.
Double Round: kind of
movie you rent the most (full
board). Jeremy buzzes in with comedy, #1. The Rambos
pass the board, though. The Wordlaws try out drama,
romance, and horror, leaving the Rambos to steal with
western... Not there! The Wordlaws have 201. Other
answers: action/adventure, mystery/thriller.
Triple Round: an
appliance in the bathroom you plug in (4). Natalie gets
#1 with a hair dryer. A curling iron, an electric razor,
and... a radio? The Wordlaws hope so... Not there! The
Rambos win, 357-201. Other answer: electric toothbrush.
Angela (and her baby) and
her husband JR take on the Fast Money board again.. but
not with the same result, as they only get 115, leaving
$50,000 in the Jackpot. The Rambos, meanwhile, are on
their way to the finals! |

The
Price is Right by Chico Alexander, GSNN
Air time: 11a ET/10a CT on CBS
(markets may vary)
Host: Bob Barker |
|
|
Tobi Brinegar, Otesa Ford,
Evelia Hash, Robert Bartholomew, and a set of towables
start this show. The pool floaties go for $969, and they
go to almost-birthday girl Otesa, who plays for
something else that can be towed, a Pontiac Grand Prix.
The game: Lucky Seven. First number: 2. She tries 2
next... it's 3. Next: 5... it's 7. Next: 4... it's 8.
And she's broke.
Tobi has better luck with
a TV/DVD player with Netflix subscription worth $729.
But can she convert into a trip to St. Thomas? She can
if she negotiates the new Balance Game. The Barker bags
available: $1000, $2000, $3000, and $344. Bob gives her
the $344, but Tobi adds the $1000 and the $2000 herself.
Will the tip and the Barker bags balance? YES!
Theoretically, she could've just put the $3000 bag, but
she has to use two of the bags, so...
Janice Barnhart, a Red
Hat, gets a hammock in round 3. It's worth $839. Now she
gets a chance to win an alto sax, a Tribeca chair &
ottoman, crystal stemware, a kitty tree, and a gemstone
globe. The limit on her Credit Card: $2400. She goes for
the cat tree... $599. She goes for the globe... $1250..
That leaves $551. Ai-yah... How about the stemware?
$775. Too much. She should've picked the cat tree, the
stemware, and the saxophone. Meanwhile, the first winner
of Balance Game in almost 20 years wins the big spin to
the Showcase.
Who'll join her? We start
with a foosball table, boccerball/marble soccer table,
and air hockey table. It's all worth $900, and it all
goes to Robert, who gets a chance at a gazebo. The game
is the Range Game. Robert stops the range finder at
$6570 to $6730. The actual price... $6800. He's got what
Jason H calls "premature buzzer syndrome".
Tysen Klafke, easily one
of the most excited contestants this show has ever had,
wins a "Blue Dawn" graphic worth $2500. He gets to Pass
the Buck for a Chevrolet Cobalt, as well as a little
cash. First up, a Clorox bleach pen marked at $1.99, and
a box of St. Joseph's companion aspirin marked 99c. He
passes left... Right! (as in correct). Next, Little
Debbie cake rolls at $1.39 and Nesquik at $3.39. He
passes right... and that's correct as well. So he has
all three picks... And with those picks, he grabs Lose
Everything... the OTHER Lose Everything... and the CAR!
Last chance for Evelia,
but Betty Watland makes out with a dishwasher worth
$1089. Now she has a chance to win dinnerware and an
offroad motorcycle. Betty's Magic #: 1683. The offroad
motorcycle... $2094. The dinnerware... $1028. She's a
winner! But Robert's a winner at the Wheel with 95c.
Showcase time. First up,
a living room group with carpeting, his & hers golf
equipment, and a golf cart. Top winner Tobi passes to
Robert, who bids $14,800. Robert, meanwhile, gets
homemade ice cream from Shane and her ice cream maker
while she thinks about a trip to Alaska and a Ford
Freestar. Tobi bids $22,000. Actual price: $27,272,
difference of $5272. Actual price of Robert's Showcase:
$16,535! He's the big winner with $17,475!
Stats: even, $44,637. |

Who
Wants to Be a Millionaire by Don Harpwood, GSNN

Time to roll on and see how
much more money can be given away to those who are smart
enough...
Starting things off today is Carol Morse (Naperville,
IL). She works as an extra on various shows, so
normally, she's used to being in the background. But
she's in the spotlight this time, and she's hoping for a
nice late birthday present (her birthday was 2 days
before this taping), in the form of a million bucks!
Carol starts by knowing that at the dinner table, kids
are often told not to talk with their mouths full (not
kissing the dog just goes without saying). She easily
gets through the lower tier, then after a couple more
questions, this shows up...
[$8,000]
Little Morris McGurk lets his imagination run wild in a
Dr. Seuss classic titled "If I Ran the" what?
A: Swimming Pool
B: Carousel
C: Playground
D: Circus
Carol decides to ask the audience. 74% of the studio
audience and 69% of the AIM users say D. Carol trusts
them... and they're right! Another question later, and
she faces this one...
[$25,000]
To protest an unpopular tax, what state's residents
staged a famous 1794 uprising called the "Whiskey
Rebellion"?
A: Rhode Island
B: Virginia
C: Pennsylvania
D: Delaware
Carol, after some thought, calls her friend Mike, who is
80% sure that it's C, before making a quick confirmation
just before time runs out. Carol goes with C... and she
has $25,000! And for the 10th straight game (not
counting WIAW Week), we move on to the upper tier...
[$50,000]
When first introduced to the public in 1908, Ford's
Model T car was offered at what retail price?
A: $475
B: $850
C: $1,450
D: $1,975
Carol has no idea, so she switches it. She wouldn't have
guessed B, but that's what it was, but that's gone now,
and is replaced by this...
[$50,000] (Q)
What gem, named for a Greek word meaning "not
intoxicating," was once thought to prevent drunkenness?
A: Opal
B: Sapphire
C: Amethyst
D: Topaz
The 50:50 leaves B and C. Carol is reminded that it's a
free guess, then after a bit of thought, she goes with
C... and she's right! Next question...
[$100,000]
What Shakespeare play is famous for the unusual stage
direction "Exit, pursued by a bear"?
A: Timon of Athens
B: Pericles
C: The Winter's Tale
D: Measure for Measure
Carol doesn't know, so she walks. If she guessed,
though, she'd have said C, and that would have been
right! Oh well; she still has $50,000!
Next up is Tamasine Ellis (Houston, TX). She is a high
school teacher, and before heading to this taping, her
students had her play the online game until she reached
the million there. It took her 5 tries. She has only 1
shot here, though, so hopefully, she can make it count!
Tamasine starts by knowing that an egg hunt is a
traditional activity that takes place on Easter. She
sweeps the lower tier, then eventually, she gets to
this...
[$16,000]
Because it lies mostly at or below sea level, which of
these European nations is identified as one of the "Low
Countries"?
A: Portugal
B: Belgium
C: Italy
D: Sweden
Tamasine asks the audience. 46% of the studio audience
says B, with 27% saying C. But 35% of the AIM users say
C, with 29% saying B. Tamasine decides to trust the
studio audience, going with B... and it's B!
And there's the horn. Tamasine will be back tomorrow. |
