Williams (Ron,
Carrie, Cindy, Jackie, Danielle); $20,875 |
|
Milutinovich
(Lesley, Kelly, Kristin, Corey, Cathy) from
Charlotte, NC |
The Milutinovich ladies
are all armed with a pink shirt saying "Let's Play The
Feud". Round 1:
something you'd love to see Paris Hilton's dog do (5).
Ron: "Use the restroom." Board: tinkle on her, #5.
Leslie: "Speak!" Board: Do tricks, #1. The Williams try
to steal with run away... Got it for 28! Other answers:
bite her, die.
Round 2: a word that
might complete the phrase: "The three..." (6). "Stooges"
beats "Little Pigs" as Carrie wins the face off.
Musketeers and Blind Mice are the only follow-up. The
Milutinoviches steal with "the Three Bears" for 73.
Other answer: Three Wise Men.
Double Round: something
that looks terrible when it's wet (5). Kristin fires
with a dog, #1! They follow up with hair and clothes.
The champs try to steal with newspaper. Not only does it
look terrible, it feels terrible. Correct for 210! Other
answer: bread.
Triple Round: 100 married
women, when your husband is in the mood for love, what
are you in the mood for (4)? Sleep is number one for
Jackie. Food, love, and TV round the sweep for the win,
489-73.
Carrie gets 97 in Fast
Money. Jackie adds only 42 for another $695, giving the
family $21,570 for three days. |

Rick Hoffman
(technical instructor from Oswego, NY); $24,000 |
|
Lisa Peabody
(coffee shop manager/trainer from Las Vegas) |
|
Marcus Jackson
(software engineer from Washington, DC) |
Rick starts with $200 On
the "Go". Jumping over to Elvis Film Roles gives us the
early Daily Double under $600. Lisa fronts $800 here:
1961: Chad Gates, son of a pineapple mogul. "What is
'Blue Hawaii'?" Right for $2000! She'll set the pace
with a lead of $4400 at the half to Marcus' $3600, but
it's the champ at $1200 who will start Double
Jeopardy!...
... with $400 Eponymous
Inventions. Rick finally rings in after nine clues to
find the Daily Double under $2000 From the Page to the
Stage. He bets the level on Val Kilmer's "Mail" lead on
a play based on the James M. Cain novel. "What is 'The
Postman Always Rings Twice'?" Right for $4800. Marcus
sweeps Hall of Famers to take the lead at $11,200. He
also finds the other Daily Double under $1600 US
Counties. He bets $1000 on this: aptly, celebrity chef
Charlie Trotter made his name & first put it on a
restaurant in this Midwestern county. "What is... Sioux
County." Cook County, but he still leads with $11,000.
He catches up with $14,200 to Lisa's $8800 and Rick's
$7600. Still anyone's game to win.
ANOTHER scoring change
benefiting Marcus. Now with $15,800, it's HIS game to
lose.
Final Jeopardy!
in "Current Royalty": first name & number
shared by 2 current European monarchs. Correct question: What is
Albert II?
Everyone misses, and in
Rick's case, it's VERY costly. He leaves in third with
$25,000, but Marcus returns Monday with $13,999. |

Margaret Humble's here!
Gwenada Cole's here! Christine Kim's here! Jaare
Bosket's here! A karaoke's here! Jaare wins the karaoke
system and a Credit Card! He'll use it to buy three of
the following: his/hers bowling equipment, a floor
clock, flatware, an electric skateboard, and four lamps.
His credit limit: $1500. He takes the bowling
equipment... $255. He takes the skateboard.... $499! He
takes the lamps... $448! We've got winner number one!
Rosemarie Hartman, who
sounds like she should be on TV Land, is a one-round
wonder, taking away a set of power tools. After walking
the aisle like a Hollywood superstar (even had the
glasses to prove it), she gets a chance at $10,000 on
the Punch-a-Bunch Punchboard. She thinks that a $35
humidifier is higher... Nope. She thinks a $30 blender
is higher... Yep! She thinks a chess game at $100 is
lower... Yep. She thinks that a $20 "Fargo" DVD is
lower... Nope. Two punches. And with those two punches
she gets $500.... and then $100. She could've won more
if she listened to the audience instead of played them
up.
Andrea Henderson is
another one-round wonder, winning a writing desk and
chair. But how about a Ford Focus? Her game is so
Money... Literally. The setup...
75 18 90
17 80 16
60 45 30
Middle number is 3. She
takes 16... and we have a $16,300+ car! Then comes
$45... and the $16,330 car! But that's all that she
wins, as Rosemarie gets a spot in the Showcase.
Margaret finally gets on
stage with a luggage set worth $580 (her bid was $569).
Now she gets a chance at a home gym and a sofa. The 1
Right Price: $2460. She goes for the gym... Right!
Christine gets her shot
on the stage thanks to a range. But what she really
wants comes with four wheels... a 2006 Ford Five
Hundred! The game is That's Too Much! She knows you
scream it like you mean it. She thinks $19,980 is Too
Much! And That's... not right. $24,498 is too much for
the $23,125.
Last chance for Gwenada
to make a move... but it doesn't happen, as Karen Lueck
gets a sapphire & diamond ring. Time to Pick-a-Pair for
a new bedroom with sleep set. The products: Cherryman
cherries, Tums Smoothies, Hot Pockets, Garlique, Jolly
Time Healthy Pop, and Aspercreme patches. She picks the
popcorn at $3.99. Then she picks the Hot Pockets...
$2.29. She keeps the Hot Pockets and goes for the
cherries.... $2.29! Winner winner! And Christine's a
winner winner at the Wheel Wheel, and speaking of things
that roll....
That's what Showcase #1
is all about! She gets high rollers in Vegas, sushi
rolls in Tokyo, and gets to roll a whip like the 2006
Chrysler PT Cruiser. Top winner Christine bids $29,575.
Rosemarie gets a trip to Port O'Price. On the boat
today: a drum set, a dinette, and a hot tub. Rosemarie
bids $12,000. Actual price: $14,830, a difference of
$2830. Christine's price... $23,981. A smidge over, as
Rosemarie takes the Showcase with $15,956.
But it's Andrea with the
Money Game who's the big winner today. Her total:
$17,614.
Stats: 4-2, $50,614. |

As we enter this fine
Friday, Rodney Crouther (Austin, TX) had just secured
$1,000. And I'm sure he wants more than that...
Apparently, Rodney, for good luck, decided to become a
human pin cushion. By that, he means that he went for
acupuncture. He did it before auditioning, and he
managed to get a spot on the show. So he did it again
before making his appearance here. Um, okay, I'm not
sure what else to say about that. Anyway, the game
resumes, and after a couple of questions, he faces
this...
[$8,000]
The Starbucks drink size "venti" is the Italian word for
what number?
A: 12
B: 16
C: 20
D: 30
Rodney doesn't know Italian, but he decides to call his
buddy Amy, because he knows that she goes to Starbucks.
Amy is sure that it's C. Rodney trusts her... and it's
C! Moving on...
[$16,000]
In geometry, which of the following is an example of a
polyhedron?
A: Hexagon
B: Sphere
C: Cube
D: Ellipse
The 50:50 leaves A and C. Rodney says C... and he's
right! Next question...
[$25,000]
Now used to refer to successful movies, "blockbuster"
was once WWII slang for a type of what?
A: Bomb
B: Soldier formation
C: Tank
D: Fighter plane
He's not sure enough to go for it, so Rodney asks the
audience. 70% of the studio audience and 46% of the AIM
users say A. Rodney trusts the audience... and he has
$25,000! After a break, we hear the crowd chanting
"Rodney! Rodney!" It must be nice to have that kind of
support going into the upper tier...
[$50,000]
When Jay Leno took over as host of "The Tonight Show" on
May 25, 1992, who was his first guest?
A: Mel Gibson
B: Billy Crystal
C: Eddie Murphy
D: Harrison Ford
Rodney is thinking that it's either A or B, but he's not
sure, so he switches the question. After finding out
that it was B, he sees this...
[$50,000] (Q)
Of the original members of the musical group The Jackson
5, which Jackson brother is the oldest?
A: Jackie
B: Marlon
C: Tito
D: Jermaine
Since nothing is lost on a wrong answer at this point,
Rodney guesses A... and he's right! Still going...
[$100,000]
Da Vinci's "Mona Lisa" is painted on a 30-by-21 inch
panel made from the wood of what tree?
A: Cherry
B: Pine
C: Poplar
D: Beech
Rodney has a gut feeling, but he doesn't feel like
risking it, so he decides to walk. The answer was C,
which turned out to be what his gut feeling was saying.
So, he could have had more, but he seems happy with
$50,000.
Next up is Chris Baker (Manassas, VA). She's a legal
secretary, but over the years, she had plenty of other
jobs, such as casino cashier, prison guard, and even
Romanian translator in the U.S. Army. Sounds like she
has been through a busy life so far. Chris starts here
by knowing that a common kids' game requires you to
follow instructions upon hearing the phrase "Simon
says". She sweeps the lower tier, and eventually gets to
$8,000.
That'll do it for this week. Chris will try for more on
Monday. |
