Newsom
(Terry, Michelle, Nichole, Lynnie, Mark) |
|
Heredia
(Coreena, Lisa Lynn, Mary, Alex, Bianca); $810 |
Can the Heredias keep
their mojo working against a hilarious cousin? Round 1:
seomthing you keep on doing even though you know it's
wrong (5). Terry gets #2, smoking. Coreena gets #5,
drinking. Michelle gets lying, #3. Cheating is #4. Only
#1 remains... Mark thinks cursing... Damn wrong. It goes
to the Heredias. They go with eating for the steal and
the 46.
Round 2: a rason why a
person might turn down a job (full board). Lisa Lynn
gets the top spot with not enough money, as the rest of
the family follows with hours, locations, don't like the
job, don't like job, no benefits, a better offer, and
... medical reasons? The Newsoms hope so... Not
there! The Heredias have 139. Other answer:
overqualified.
Double Round: something
some people can sleep through while others wake up
instantly (full board). Nichole gets #3, television.
Mark gets #1, a thunderstorm. Then comes an alarm clock.
The Heredias go with music for the steal... Up there for
265! Other answers: nightmare, sirens.
Triple Round: something
people lose that can ruin a vacation (4). Alex gets
credit card... count it for #1. Luggage, tickets, and...
how about your keys? The Newsoms hope so... They go with
room keys...Not there! Heredias win, 544-0. Here's a
hint, if they ask for a specific answer, chances are
that specific answer is up there... And this case... it
was: car keys.
Coreena takes Lisa Lynn
to Fast Money. Coreena delivers with 73. On the dumb
answer front: a sport that doesn't use a ball... Lisa
Lynn said "bowling." She comes up to 146 for another
$730. |

Kevin Marshall
(student from Metairie, LA); $90,202, five days |
|
Brian Poole
(support center analyst from Redondo Beach, CA) |
|
Emily Short
(travel agent from New York City) |
Kevin's knocking on the
door of $100,000. A win today will take him there. But
the competition looks fierce. Will youth be served? He
starts with $200 Historic Names. The Daily Double is
under $1000, and Brian gets to bet that much on this:
Gian Gastone, who died in 1737, was the last member of
this family to rule over Florence & Tuscany. "Who are
the Medicis?" Right for $1800, still leading. Kevin goes
from the red to $3000 at the half, while Brian still
leads with $4800. Emily has $2600 and a chance to stir
things up in Double Jeopardy!...
... but first, a bit of a
twist. One category is called "Take This Category
Last!!" because that category has information from the
five before it. That oughta rattle your reflexes a bit.
Okay, Emily, start us off with $400 Geography, as she
finds the first Daily Double under $2000. She only
trails by $600. She bets double that on the peninsula
that lies between the Bering Sea and the Sea of Okhotsk.
"What is the Archangel Peninsula?" Close, but no, it's
the Kamchatka Peninsula, leaving her with $3000. She
also has the second Daily Double under $1200 Hero &
Villain. Still trailing, but very much alive, she
bets... $2800. The clue: "I am jealous of everything
whose beauty does not die", complains this Wilde
character. "Who is Dorian Gray?" Right for the tie with
Kevin, $8600. Brian claims the final clue and widens the
margin with $15,600 to Kevin's $11,800. Emily still has
$6600, though.
Final Jeopardy!
in "Women Leaders": it's the world's most
populous country with a female head of government,
Khaleda Zia. Correct question: What is Bangladesh?
Kevin is wrong, losing
only $3801. Now all he can do is hope that Brian misses
and bets the farm. He did miss. But that's only half the
battle... and here's the other half. In another amazing
stroke of luck, Kevin pulls it out by $400 with $7999,
giving him a six-day total of $98,201. |

The
Price is Right by Chico Alexander, GSNN
Air time: 11a ET/10a CT on CBS
(markets may vary)
Host: Bob Barker |
|
|
Casey White, Martha
Beck-Monroe, Laurie Hammond, and Katrina Underwood start
the ball rolling with two bikes. Laurie picks up those
cycles and a chance for a lawn tractor at $980, a
dinette at $3202, and a treadmill at $1599. One of these
prices is wrong, hence the name of the game, One Wrong
Price. She goes with the dinette... which is $2725!
MSG Chico Albis gets a spa
in round 2, but can the Marine convert into a Ford
Mustang? The game is Lucky Seven. First number: 2. He
goes with 6 first... it's 1, which'll cost him $5. Next:
5. That was a 7, which costs him the other two. No
Mustang for MSG Albis...
Katrina gets her shot
with a cappuccino/espresso machine. And she can buy all
the coffee she can handle with $16,000! Capzasin P
cream, Hot Pockets, Oxford index cards, Glad Forceflex
bags, Fisher mixed nuts, and St Ives apricot scrub are
in the Bag. First up: 69c. She goes with the index
cards. Then comes $12.99. She goes with the cream. Then
comes $3.29. She goes with the bags (ultimate of
ironies, a bag in a bag). Then comes $6.49. She goes
nuts. Finally, $4.49. She goes with the scrub. The cards
are 69c for $1000! The cream is... $12.99 for $2000! And
that's where she stops. Good thing, too, because the
bags weren't $3.29. It was the scrub.
And Albis may not have
won the Mustang, but he did win a place in the Showcase.
Before we continue, we
have to say Happy Birthday to stagehand Marty! From
there we go to Virginia... Bowman. She wins a
washer/dryer and a chance to win a trip to Antigua!
That'll happen if Hans doesn't fall off Mt. PIR. And he
won't if she knows about a novelty mailbox, a CD rack,
and a tortilla maker. She thinks the mailbox is $20...
It's $24, as Hans only moves four steps. She thinks the
CD rack is $25... It's $30, as Hans moves to 9. Margin
of error is 16. She thinks the tortilla maker is $45...
It's $35, and she's a winner!
Kenneth Carley is also
down and up thanks to his & hers golf equipment. He
tries to convert the Squeeze Play for an upright piano.
The setup: 7 6 8 9 5. He pulls the 9... Should've pulled
the 6. It was $7895.
Last chance for Martha or
Casey to jump on stage comes with a grill.... and it
goes to Martha! She gets a chance at a bookcase ($789),
a steam iron ($24), dinnerware ($813)... and a 2006 Ford
Focus! First number is 1. Last number is 0. Line'em Up!
First chance: $17,430. That's... one right. She switches
to $17,280... Only two right. It was $17,210. Darn...
Showdown time, as Kenneth
spins out the score to beat, 90 cents. It's never
beaten, as he joins Albis in the Showcase.
First up, a visit to the
rug market, where we find rugs for kitchen appliances (a
gas range, fridge/freezer, and dishwasher), a trip to
Switzerland, and a ski boat. Top winner Kenneth bids
$49,500. Albis gets an HDTV, a new bedroom with sleep
set, and a 2006 Ford Five Hundred. He bids $24,200, off
by $12,016. Actual price for Kenneth's Showcase:
$28,832. Albis is the big winner today with $38,211.
Stats: 2-3-1, $58,706. |

Who
Wants to Be a Millionaire by Don Harpwood, GSNN
Air time: Check listings or

Host: Meredith Vieira |

Al Martorana (Holbrook, NY)
has $8,000 so far, with 2 lifelines left going into
today. He wants the million; will he get it?
Apparently, despite the retirement, Al is now working
harder than before, because of housework. Vacuuming,
laundry, that stuff. He even made his own dinner, and
baked his own chocolate chip cookies. But here, all he
has to do is sit in that hot seat and answer questions.
The game resumes, and after easily getting the $16,000
question, he has this...
[$25,000]
What band became a trio in 1997 with the departure of
Bill Berry, who had played drums with the group for 17
years?
A: Van Halen
B: Bon Jovi
C: Genesis
D: R.E.M.
Al wants to ask the audience. 46% of the studio audience
and 47% of the AIM users are saying D. Al trusts them...
and he has $25,000! On to the upper tier...
[$50,000]
In a famous 1951 cartoon called "Duck and Cover," what
animal tells American kids what to do in case of a
nuclear attack?
A: Fred the Eagle
B: Gary the Gopher
C: Sam the Hamster
D: Bert the Turtle
Al calls his daughter's father-in-law Tony, but he
doesn't give an answer in time. So, Al then decides to
switch the question. After finding out that the answer
was D, this comes up...
[$50,000] (Q)
According to the U.S. Census, what state had the highest
turnout in the 2004 election, with 79% of eligible
voters going to the polls?
A: Massachusetts
B: Ohio
C: Florida
D: Minnesota
Al takes a guess and says B... but it's D! Well, at
least he didn't lose anything, and Al is going home with
$25,000!
The next player is Jenna Fletcher (Allentown, PA), and
she can't believe she's really there. She's a college
senior, but she is also engaged to be married. Yeah, I
think it's safe to say she needs the money. Jenna starts
by knowing that light rain is an example of
precipitation. She sweeps the lower tier, then faces
this...
[$2,000]
In 2004, what specialty magazine introduced a puzzle for
its readers titled "Run This Rack"?
A: Bowling Digest
B: Golf Digest
C: Billiards Digest
D: Auto Racing Digest
Jenna asks the audience, and man, do they ever come
through. 95% of the studio audience picks C, and so does
70% of the AIM users. She trusts them and goes with C...
and they're right! Another few questions later, and she
gets to this...
[$25,000]
Indigenous to the Kalahari desert, what plant is the
main ingredient of Trimspa and many other diet
supplements?
A: Valerian
B: Hoodia
C: Kava
D: Milk thistle
Jenna decides to call her fiancé Nate's mother, Mary,
but she has no idea. Jenna then uses the 50:50, which
leaves B and C. That's still not enough for her, so she
walks. The answer was B, but she does have $16,000,
which should be a good chunk of change for her!
Ed DiAngelo (Sayreville, NJ) is up next. He knew the
answer to that last question. Figures, since he recently
lost 115 pounds! But he didn't use diet pills. Ed starts
by knowing that to protect surfaces, coasters are most
commonly placed underneath drinking glasses (I don't
think coasters would be enough for excited puppies). He
then gets to $200.
And there's the horn. Ed will be back tomorrow in the
hopes of winning a lot more money. |
