Welcome to the first Mega Match of 2006! We start it off with the Yellow Team, which for this episode is the Colegio Bicentenario. Their opponents are from the school of Dr. Jose Francisco Torealba - the Green Team!

We start the season with the Battle of the Monkey Bars. After 4 minutes of jousting, we see that both teams have 3 wins, so both teams get a minute worth of time.

There will be no tie on the second stunt, where both teams have to traverse a set of columns with tops that spin. Each team has 3 minutes to get as much confetti as they can to the other side. Both teams do fairly well, but the 10 that the Yellow gets pales in comparison to the 13 that the Green Team gets. Another minute to the Green team.

It's time for MegaMatch Idol, where you run to a Microphone after you hear a song and you have to continue where the song leaves off. We have the Green team getting 4 points and the Yellow team getting...4 points as well. It's another tie and another minute goes to both teams.

Another minute is up for grabs as the Water Carriers try to get as much aqua across a bridge where the other team is looking to knock them off. This time, the Yellow team does very well - 8 - but once again, the Green Team outclasses them with 12. The Green Team has tied or taken every event so far...

...and they can have a huge time amount should they do well in the trivia competition. It turns out that they don't do that well, as the Yellow team beats them, but they had enough time to hold on and take 5:10 with them to the Bonus round.

Unfortunately for Ernesto (the person who is running the room), the Producers of the show have a new year's resolution to make the rooms tough. He starts with organizing 5 books on each row (unlike the 3 we saw last week) and that takes him a full 2 minutes. He does get through the potion room and the thread room, but he can't get past the models room and time runs out. He gets appliances, a tv/vcr combo and a range/oven combo for his troubles.

Green (Santa Elena) and Yellow (Clareth) are battling again as we start with Save the Captains! The teams have to go get pies and save their team captains from the pool of water. We end up in...a tie. What's up with all of the ties?

Next up - it's time for a concert. Whoopie!

Speaking of concerts, it's time for MegaMatch Idol. All of the applauses go to the Yellow team, who wins this one in a romp and who leads the Green Team 3-2.

It all comes down to the Trivia. The Green team dominates that, and edges out the Yellow Team 4:40 to 4:20. That being said, the Green Team isn't going to get much done in the Bonus House with only 4:40. And he doesn't. He also gets to the thread room and he also only gets appliances, a tv/vcr combo and a range/oven combo. So much for starting the new year off on the right foot.
