TOURNAMENT 2
EPISODE 5

It's time once again for another round of the second tournament of CELEBRITY POKER SHOWDOWN, the charity tournament with BIG stakes!  There will be five games of five celebs each, with the winner of each game advancing to the Final Table and a big piece of the $250,000 Cingular Wireless(TM) Prize Pool for his/her charity.

Tonight, we have five brand new celebs scratching it out for their share of the prize pool:

CELEBRITY BIO

James Blake
playing for Shriner's Hospital of Springfield, MA
James is a professional tennis player and was ATP Player of the Year in 2001.  Can he get Aces just like he serves on the court...or will he be force to make a "racquet" in the Lounge?

Jon Favreau
playing for Caring For Children & Families with AIDS
Jon is executive producer and host of the Independent Film Channel's Dinner For Five but also found time to direct the hit holiday film "Elf".  Can he make it drinks for four in the Lounge...or are his chances rather elf-like?

Andy Richter
playing for National Mental Health Foundation
After spending years as the "sidekick" on Late Night with Conan O'Brien, Andy went out on his own as is currently starring in Quintuplets.  Will he be the "big brother" of THIS fivesome...or will he be sent to selling life insurance like Ed McMahon?

Tom Everett Scott
playing for Caring For Children & Families with AIDS
This former Grace Under Fire star recently took the role of Eric Wyczenski on the hit series ER.  Will he show grace this time...or will he need to be rushed to the Loser's Lounge, stat?

Maura Tierney
playing for Children's Aid Society/
Teen Pregnancy Prevention
Speaking of ER, Maura plays Dr. Abby Lockhart on that show, years after starring with CPS host Dave Foley on NewsRadio.  Will she be a smooth operator at this table...or will her reception fade?

Each celebrity will start with $10,000 worth of chips and the game will continue until one celebrity has all $50K in his/her possession, thus making him/her eligible for the Final Table.  At the announcers' position beside the Losers' Lounge are host Dave Foley and poker expert Phil Gordon.  They'll be calling the action emanating from the main room.

All right, enough of this garbage.  As Tournament Director Robert Thompson says, let's SHUFFLE UP AND DEAL!

Blinds start at $100 (SB) and $200 (BB).  The Dealer Button (D) starts on Jon.

"You" (that is, Maura) have an EXCELLENT hand in the Big Blind.

Conventional wisdom says to raise with such a good hand.  But "you" underplay it and just check.  No sense in "slow playing" when "you" are "in position" (the last to act in a given round).  Even a middle pair is a coin flip against "Big Chick".
