GRAND PRIX de PARIS
In it's only European stop, the World Poker Tour tears through Paris like
Lance Armstrong on a double espresso. The exclusive Aviation Club off the Champs-Elysees
is one of the hardest poker rooms to get into. But 96 players from all
around the world managed to get in, each presenting almost $12,000 in Euros to
play No-Limit Texas Hold 'Em. The prize pool: $919,000 (that's $1,036,264
in American bread) with one person leaving with over $420,000 AND with a $25,000 buy-in to the WPT Championship
at the Bellagio at the end of the year.
