High Voltage
June 23

Behold the mysterious Rue Manor. Its caretaker, a butler named Giles, who has only been on the job for a few weeks and is already faced with a job that he cannot refuse, one in which his life, and the lives of his guests, are always in the balance.

Thirteen strangers will arrive to play a game in which only one can win. A check for $250,000 will go to the one person who can outlast the other 12. But it won't be easy, because this game... is MURDER.

Our amateur sleuths are...

- Adrianna Iwasinski; 40; Oklahoma City; TV crime reporter
- Cristina "Cris" Crotz; 27; Costa Mesa, CA; business manager
- Dana Davis Blake; 39; Asheville, NC; cardiac nurse
- Don Tabak; 62; Santa Clarita, CA; private investigator
- Dontae Mosbey; 27; Long Beach, CA; Marine insurance investigator
- Geno Walker; 33; Chicago; bar trivia host
- Kam Perez; 30; New York City; Homeland Security attorney
- Lindsey Anderson; 27; Boston; senior engineer
- Melina Alves; 29; Chicago; flight attendant
- Ronnie Padron; 42; Kenilworth, NJ; bounty hunter
- Sasha Horne; 28; Washington, DC; journalist
- Sheri Marsh; 28; Los Angeles; bartender
- Ulysses Wilson; 30; Mechanicsburg, PA; attorney

Don says that he's a football coach... Sure he is. Sheri was a Rams cheerleader. And apparently a clumsy woman with a champagne flute.

They meet Giles for the first time, and after they are all carted to their rooms... we hear a crash... awe see a livewire and a woman literally shocked to death. "It has begun." And it turns out... it's Sheri. Her death is no accident. It was... MURDER. And worse yet... One of the other 12 people did it. And even more than that... they have tasked Giles to speak on his or her behalf.

"Dear mortals, you all have been personally selected to play my diabolical game of life and death. Your job: stay alive long enough to discover who I am. You can only do that by being the best at solving the crimes I put before you. Fail and you may be the next to die. I had to make an example of Sheri because she showed her incompetence by breaking a champagne glass. Her clumsiness cost her her life. Do you really think a cheerleader was ever going to be a worthy adversary? As for the rest of you, the living, here are the rules...

"Following each murder, I will grant you the opportunity to investigate one and only one of the following areas: the crime scene, the victim's last known whereabouts, or the morgue, where you can examine the corpse in a more private setting."

CRIME SCENE: Don, Melina, Cris, Lindsay, Kam
MORGUE: Dontae, Ulysses, Dana
WHEREABOUTS: Geno, Sasha, Ronnie, Adrianna

CRIME SCENE

Fish tank... dead fish... and a blood stain where Sheri had been. There was also electrocutions and the realization that the bleed-out came out of Sheri's head. Also... it comes out that Don was an ex-cop. Oops.

MORGUE

Sheri had a fresh mani, bruising, but no electric marks, lacerations, or exit points from the electrocution. But in the back of her neck, a bone sticking out of the back? No, an old-school musket round.

LAST KNOWN WHEREABOUTS

Wood shavings and a busted lock indicate forced entry. A shower is still running... and we have a clue on the mirror: MEET ME AT THE FISH TANK; HAVE VITAL INFO FOR YOU.

The group retreats to the patio for finger sandwiches and clue retreads... and the forming of strategic alliances. Everything is starting to make sense. Kam & Ulysses, the first big alliance, go shopping for information. There's a bit of a conflict, as Ulysses' theory conflicts with Dontae's. Ulysses is angry as Dontae swore to him that we're not going to share information. One problem with all of that as Sasha is thinking that she didn't hear a gunshot. She heard a crash. And Dana? She's done with Dontae, as he explains how (theory #3)... she could've drowned.

Meanwhile, the killer leaves another message...

"To unlock any mystery you need a key.
So please accept this gift from me.
Only think twice on what lock you turn,
From the passage you find, you'll surely learn.
There are 12 keys, one for each of you.
You might just find the missing clue.
Go run, go twist, unlock the lies.
To find salvation takes several tries."

Each one has the numbers 13:17. Is it military time or... a Bible verse? They turn to Ezekiel 13:17 (Now, son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people who prophesy out of their own imagination. Prophesy against them).

Then there's a pair of crowns... The clue is II Kings 13:17 (And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the LORD'S deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.). The clue is the east window. One of the windows is gone. Then there's a number: 6-1-3... and a trunk with a lock on it. We have a slingshot and a crowbar. Everyone's there... except Lindsay and Dontae.

THE STATEMENT: How Sheri Was Killed

The sleuths adjourn to the library... because that's what you do when you're trying to solve a murder. One by one, they state their case as to how the killer used the evidence in the crime. They point fingers all over the place, but only one - Adrianna - was accused twice.

(C-Note: This from the end credits... "Eliminations are based on the performance of participants on a written exam testing their knowledge of the crimes.")

And here comes Giles with the verdict.

"It seems that someone in this room has captured the killer's fancy. SASHA... I have a message to you from the killer... CONGRATULATIONS! You are Spared. You are the one who impressed me the most with how I pulled off this heinous crime." What did she know that the others didn't know? Here's what went down.

Sheri was in the shower, when the Killer broke in. They wrote the clue on the mirror. Sheri headed to the Great Room, where the Killer had cut the cord of the lamp, but left it plugged in next to the aquarium. The Killer waited with one window open outside and killed her with the slingshot instantly severing her cervical arteries and killing her instantly. The blunt force on her forehead and the electrocution? All post-mortem.

Also Spared... GENO, DANA, CRIS, ULYSSES, KAM, MELINA, LINDSAY, ADRIANNA.

Who should be Scared... DON, DONTAE.

There will be a pajama brunch in the morning. Pity that one of you will not be able to make it.

The Killer strikes again at 4:38am that night... by frying DONTAE. And then there were 11.
