"Gina & Lorrie" -
November 1
Tonight, a deaf woman and a weight loss victor go
through the change. First, Gina Davis (38; South
Beach), who had lost her hearing when she was three.
Ever since then, it's been a constant struggle with
name-calling and teasing. She has since moved on and up
from the name calling, but still, she faces physical
concerns, as her husband hasn't kissed her in ten years.
The experts' plan of
attack? Standing up for herself and giving her a new
boost of confidence.
Face: Nose job, Chin implant, Liposuction
(Chin), Fat transfer to lips, Lasik |
Body: Breast augmentation, Liposuctions
(Hips), Tummy tuck |
Dental: Gum recontouring, Zoom bleaching, DaVinci
veneers, Deep cleaning |
Fitness: 1200 kcal/day diet, Muscle toning |
Weekly therapy and coaching |
Her competitor:
Lorrie Arias (34; Corona, CA). She grew up with a
mother who told her she was fat and worthless...
probably a few other things. She had lost 120 pounds,
but she looked like she was "melting". Her husband
didn't get a chance to see her without her clothes on...
and sadly, he never would. He died of liver failure in
2002.
Can the experts get rid
of the excess skin? It looks like it's going to take
both docs to get it done. Can they also get rid of the
excess grief? Well they could try...
Face: Full face lift, Nose job, Brow lift,
Upper lip lift with fat transfer, Upper/lower eye
lift, Fotofacials |

nipple), Breast augmentation, Tummy tuck,
Liposuction (knees) |
Dental: Gum recontouring, Zoom bleaching, DaVinci Veneers, Deep
cleaning |
Fitness: 1200 kcal/day diet |
Weekly therapy and coaching |
Lori comes out on top
with most procedures done. Her and Gina move into their
new mirrorless digs (now equipped with advance copies of
"The Swan Curriculum: Create A Spectacular New You With
12 Life-Changing Steps In 12 Amazing Weeks", available
at your local bookstore).
Lorrie's initial
consult with Dr. H reveals that Lorrie's surgery will be
tackled in three stages. "She's lost so much weight that
she looks at least 20 years beyond her true age. If she
can make it through this, this'll be one of the most
dramatic physical transformations ever seen on 'The
Swan'." Stage 1 (face and buttock): Lorrie's really
nervous. She at least has her children in her corner.
Success. Stage 2 (eyes and face): success. "Are you
married?" Okay... Stage 3 (breast aug/lift and stomach):
Very challenging. It went very well, though, and you can
see an improvement.
Gina's initial
consult with Dr. D: "The challenge with Gina's face
is that it's extremely uneven. Her tip cartilage is
spread apart, so we're going to sculpt her nose to
balance her face." A lot of difficult facial surgery is
coming as Dr. D has to basically resculpt her face.
Heidi (his nurse) helps Gina talk with her husband.
Basically, Gina says "I love you". husband says "Okay".
That's pretty painful. Dr. D says Gina now has "perfect
mid-Cs" and "hopes her face heals really well".
Gina's dental
appointment: "Gina's mouth if the focus of her
face. People have to stare at her mouth to understand
what she's saying."
Lorrie's dental
appointment... and she has to have a few teeth removed.
"WHAT?!" Yeah.
Gina is taking her
recovery in stride, but it may be turned to a half when
she frantically tries to get in contact with her
family... Only to find that they were trying to get in
contact with her. During her three-month stint, Gina's
hometown was ravaged by Hurricane Frances, and the
family is staying at her mother's. "I want you to stay
there and finish what you're doing." Gina's left with a
hard decision. Merline (the daughter of deaf parents)
from last season is sent to help her, but will it be
enough?
Lorrie is coping with
physical pain by calling her children. It's gotten to
the phase where she's packing up and heading out. But
then her kids tell her to pull through. She's only got
one more month...
... Wow that was a quick
month. Gina is first to the reveal.
But first... some news. A few days ago, she was fitted
with a new hearing aid. "For the first time in my life,
I can hear my own voice." But will it match the rest of
her? Well, could be better, could be worse. She calls
the day she got her hearing aid the best day of her
life. Well, get ready for a close second, as it's time
once again for the Mirror of Fate.
"*orgasmic screams* I
look like a movie star! My husband's gonna flip!"
Oh yeah. Nely's "beyond
proud of her". Her dream came true, but now it's time
for Lorrie, who handled her surgery and therapy
extremely well. And it shows, as she emerges ... a
cutie. She says that she's become less self-obsessed.
But will she follow through with her reveal?
"Thank you. I won't be
lacking any confident anymore!"
Wow. Speechless. "She
literally looks 20 years younger!" Now to the
reveal that counts.
Remember, the experts are judging on poise, beauty,
overall transformation, and a host of other factors that
no one revealed, but are there. Joining Jennifer Patton
in the Swan Pageant is... Gina Davis. She overcame
incredible obstacles, and for the first time is
comfortable in her own skin. Now that it's over for
Lorrie (at least in the interim, because she is a
contender for Wild Card in my eyes), she just wants to
go home and see her family. Well, you'll see your
family, but you won't be going home any time soon.
Next time we see
Gina will be in a few weeks for the pageant. Next time
we see you will be next week, we hope, as the
transformations continue... |
