Perception Is Not
Always Reality/Reunion (Tikiano)
May 13
Five contestants, four
ultimate losers, three days, two Tribals, one million bucks on the
line! Time to wrap up this twenty-fourth Survivor! Although,
personally, I don't know why I have to do this, since the
last of my original tribe is gone. Care to explain, Chico?
(C-Note: Because...
because... AMERICA! That's why!)
Uhhhh...okay...(sighs)...all
right, let's get this estrogen-fest over with!
NIGHT 36: SALANI STANDS TALL...WELL,
THEY STAND, ANYWAY...
The final five females
feel fantastic from finally felling the feral fellows that fought
fearlessly only to furiously fail to the femme fatales. (I swear,
that's as much illiteration as I'll EVER put in a recap!) Now, Kim,
Chelsea, Christina, Alicia and Sabrina arrive at One World Beach
and reflect on how their experience has changed since they were
cold and wet on Day 1. Alicia is feeling a LITTLE regretful for
knocking Tarzan out...but she IS happy that a woman will be winning
this game. She thinks that she, Kim and Christina will stick together
and KO Sabina and Chelsea. Kim says it best before they turn in:
"May the best woman win."
DAY 37: TREE-MAIL!
Sabrina and Kim pick up
the package for the penultimate Immunity Challenge and, as they
walk back, they talk about who should go next. Sabrina thinks Alicia...but
Kim thinks Chelsea will get more Jury votes should she make the
Final Three. Kim finds it hard NOT to take Christina to the last
day. And Sabrina...suddenly feels vunerable.
But, anyway, here's the
Tree-Mail:
|
Strength,
balance and memory...
This one has it all.
Guaranteed spot in the Final Four
Unless, of course, you fall.
|
Hmm...interesting. Alicia
says to the camera, "Please, Chelsea, I hope you suck today."
IMMUNITY CHALLENGE: BALANCE
BEAM MAZE
"C'mon in, guys,"
seems a LITTLE out of place now, but Uncle Jeff says it just the
same to bring the last Survivors into Challenge Clearing. Alicia
gives back the Immunity Necklace and we get to the Challenge. The
first part is a balance beam maze. If you fall off the beam at any
time, you have to go back to the beginning. At the end, a rope net
has five bags of puzzle pieces (in your color) which you must collect.
Then the puzzle pieces must be assembled and the words ON said puzzle
will give you clues to three numbers. Once you have the numbers,
race to the top and work out a combination lock using said numbers.
First woman to do so and raise her flag has a 25% shot at the million
bucks. The others have a 25% shot at being only the second female
on the Jury.
They're at the gate (no,
literally, they start behind gates which they have to open by untying
ropes...Jeff forgot to mention that)...
"Survivors, ready...GO!"
Aaaaand, they're off in
the Survivor Derby! The ladies get to the gates and get to
untying. Kim is the first to get the knots gone but the board that
holds the gate in is still in place. This lets Christina out onto
the balance board maze first, Kim right behind. Sabrina, Chelsea
and Alicia follow. Christina finds a dead end and slips off the
maze, going back to the beginning (which might be a sound strategy,
really). Kim is next to slip off. Chelsea follows Alicia to the
very end of the course, allowing them to race to the net.
As Kim retraces her steps,
Chelsea (yellow) and Alicia (red) start untying the bags from the
net. Sabrina (sky blue) starts on her bags when Jeff informs Alicia
that she's untying the WRONG color of bags. Christina (orange) and
Kim (green) finally finish the maze and get to the netting...just
as Chelsea grabs her five bags and slides down to the puzzle stage.
Sabrina is right behind her, followed by Kim, Alicia and, bringing
up the rear, Christina.
The pieces are many and
all polygonal. The five girls dump all the pieces out and get to
work on it...which is no easy task in the least. Some words are
able to be made out...but the puzzle MUST be finished before moving
on. Alicia, Chelsea and Kim get about halfway done before Sabrina
can even get a FEW pieces. And Christina...she makes progress but
not as much as the others. Alicia then starts to fall behind...and
Kim starts sprint-placing the pieces and finishes the puzzle first.
The puzzle has a number
of skulls and spears and these words on top:.
|
COUNT
THE NUMBER OF SKULLS,
THEN HOW MANY PIECES,
AND THE TOTAL NUMBER OF WORDS...
THEN HOPE YOUR FLAG RELEASES.
|
Kim carefully counts the
words and skulls (hopefully including the steer skulls on the sides)
and, just as Alicia finishes her puzzle, races up the platforms
to the combination lock. She works the numbers and pulls on the
stick to release the flag...but it doesn't budge. She tries again...nothing.
Alicia thinks she has it and climbs just as Chelsea finishes. After
a few more tries, Kim and Alicia head back down to recount. As Chelsea
counts the skulls (including the steer ones), Kim heads back up
with Chelsea on her heels and Alicia not that far behind. Sabrina
and Christina...fuggetabatit! More
blown numbers by Kim Chelsea gets the right numbers - 20 words,
21 skulls, 42 pieces - but not the right order. Kim tries 21-42-20...
...and the green flag
goes up! KIM WINS IMMUNITY!!
Uncle Jeff places the
Immunity Necklace on Kim for the third time in four Challenges...and
informs everyone else that one of them WILL be in the Jury as of
tonight.
AFTERNOON 37: SPLITTING THE
UPTIGHT
Kim is happy to have Immunity
yet again...but is a little awed at all the options open to her
for tonight's Council. And it's terrifying: "every one I send
home can make a difference," she says. But the first one she
speaks to alone is Chelsea. Chelsea's idea is to take out Alicia
tonight and Christina tomorrow. Kim's two options for the Final
Three are her, Chelsea and Christina...and her, Christina and anyone
BUT Chelsea. Chelsea admires Kim for playing the game VERY well;
she feels comfortable that Kim will have her back tonight. She tells
Kim that they can plan to have them vote for HER...and then Kim
hands the Individual Immunity Idol to her (FORGOT that Kim had a
3I, right?) and, thus, Chelsea's votes will be gone. Kim is now
wishing Chelsea DIDN'T know about her 3I.
Next she speaks to Sabrina,
whom she tells wants Alicia gone first. Sabrina has zero problem
with that. Alicia looks up from sunbathing to see them...and lies
back down feeling that Kim wouldn't betray her trust. Kim then tells
the Alicia and Christina than it's CHELSEA being tossed tonight.
So...things are set up for either Chelsea or Alicia to be blindsided
by Kim at...
TRIBAL COUNCIL: EVERY TIME
I LOOK AT YOU I GO "BLINDSIDE"
Tikiano enters the Council
Hutch of Doom...Uncle Jeff directs them to the bench...Jonas, Michael,
Jay, Leif, Troyzan, Kim and a still quite-hairy Tarzan sit the the
Jury box...more eyes are judging than being judged right now.
Alicia thinks that, for
being so close to the end of this ride, there wasn't a lot of scrambling
back at camp after the Challenge. Chelsea agrees, feeling it's easier
to talk one-on-one with so few tribemates. But, she adds, there's
quiet paranoia because they can see the light at the end of the
tunnel...and each one is HOPING it's not an oncoming train. Uncle
Jeff asks Kim how it feels being the "power vote" of tonight's
Council and she says it's tough: she likes all the women and she
(and everyone else) also have to think about tomorrow and the final
day. When asked what's important in keeping someone or letting her
go, she says loyalty (which makes Kat's eyes roll) but, when prompted
to go into detail as to why that's so tough if the Girls Alliance
was a success, she adds that it's about self-perception and how
others look at her. She also admits her heart gets in the way of
her head sometimes, which makes decision-making even MORE difficult.
Then Unlce Jeff asks everyone
but Kim if there's anything they want to say to Kim concerning her
vote. Alicia feels she's been with Kim since Day 1 and doesn't need
to beg (which causes MIKE to roll HIS eyes). Sabrina is fine. Christina
is confident in Kim's decision. Chelsea, however, warns Kim that
this vote could either gain or lose respect for her from the Jury.
Kim agrees with that but, in the end, she needs to make her own
decision and hope for the best.
Kim's immune (again) so
no votes for her. It is time to vote. Christina, Chelsea ("Alicia,...I
hope it's you and not me"), Sabrina, Alicia ("Chelsea,
you'll be just fine") and Kim scratch down their votes. Uncle
Jeff takes his time tallying (and rearranging) the votes. He then
asks for 3Is, reminding them that this is the LAST NIGHT to cash
them in. We know that Kim has the only one...but will she give it
to someone else...or leave it to rot?
Kim stays quiet. The 3I
she has is useless now. Uncle Jeff reads the votes:
Chelsea...
Alicia...
Chelsea...
Alicia...
...and Kim votes for...
Alicia!
"Wow," is all
the Chicago special ed teacher can mutter as she stands and gets
her torch to be snuffed. Kat says it best: "She backstabbed
me AND Alicia." And, as she walks down the Path of Shame, Jeff
reminds the other girls that tomorrow will be the FINAL Immunity
Challenge...and the last chance to stay off the Jury and have a
shot at a million bucks..
NIGHT 37: WHO'S OUT NEXT?
As soon as they return,
Kim apologizes to Christina for lying about how close Kim and Alicia
were...because Christina was TOTALLY surprised by this vote. She
thinks she's "on the outs" but hopes Kim will think about
keeping her in the Final Three instead of Sabrina. She admits to
"coattailing" and knows many think she doesn't belong...but
things change daily so...
Chelsea and Kim feel they'll
cry of Christina gets the last Immunity. Chelsea is relieved to
still be there thanks to Kim. Now the two have to decide which of
the OTHER two to take to the Final Three. Sabrina might be dangerous
to their chances...and Christina will probably sound like a joke
in front of the Jury. Kim smiles and says, "We're gonna do
this...it's gonna be fun."
DAY 38: WHO LIKES LONG WALKS
ON THE BEACH?
Christina grabs the last
note and walks back to camp, determined to win Immunity today and
NOT be "mediocre" again. Back at camp, the OTHER girls
don't want it to be a "do or die" for Christina. The girls
gather to read this important missive:
|
CONGRATULATIONS,
FINAL FOUR!
You are almost at the end. Follow the map to the Headland.
There you will find the torches of your fallen comrades. At
each torch, you will collect a representative nameplate of
those you have voted out before you. At the end of your journey,
you will offer them up at a ceremonial burning, paying respect
to their memory as they each had a part in getting you to
this point. You will then proceed to your final Immunity Challenge.
|
Ah, the usual "Rite
of Passage" walk. The girls head out and find the trail, pausing
at every torch to pick up the nameplate and reminisce. Kourtney,
the girl who busted her wrist by not falling like she was told SEVERAL
TIMES to do; Nina, the elder lady who helped build their pitiful
shelter into something mildly inhabitable; Matt, the chicken-grabber
who felt his "wings were clipped" way too soon; Bill,
the comedian who brought hope to Manono in dark times; Monica, the
mother of three who was happy to do something for herself; Ol' King
Colton, the guy who was "one of the girls" and a HUGE
player in the game until his appendix decided to end his reign;
Jonas, the cook and good friend who kept his cool despite lack of
sleep and pain; Michael, who played open and honest and still didn't
win; Jay, who learned to keep an open mind and a positive outlook;
Leif, small in stature and huge in heart; Troy"zan", who
got everything he set out to do in this game done EXCEPT winning
the million; Kat, the true definition of a "dumb blonde"
who says she's grown in the month she's been on the island; "Tarzan"
(aka Greg), who grew on them despite his idiosyncrasies and is
proud
to be the "last man standing"; and Alicia, the girl who
walked on a beach in high heels but who left loving who she really
is.
The girls reach the bonfire,
place the nameplates amid the stacked logs and light it up. They
say good-bye to the ones who fell so that THEY could go on...and
then they WENT on to the final...
IMMUNITY CHALLENGE: OPERATION
BALANCE BUILD
The Final Four come across
Final Challenge Clearing, the sun shining, the wind lightly blowing
and Uncle Jeff smiling as he takes the Immunity Necklace from Kim,
anxious to see who will were it for the last time in this version
of the game. The Challenge is as such: each person grabs a small
bowl with a stick-grabber and maneuver it through a vertical wire
maze. Once out, the bowl is them placed on a small platform ATTACHED
to the maze and then get the next one. Each bowl must be balanced
on the others before moving on. As if THAT wasn't hard enough, the
maze and platform are attached to a spring on the bottom; if you
touch the maze too hard, the bowls may fall off, forcing them to
start all over again. The first woman to have all ten bowls balanced
on that platform will be in the Final Three...while the others will
be the final three that may be voted out of the game. SO worth playing
for!
"Survivors, ready...GO!"
Being fast is crucial...but
being CAREFUL is important as well, as even the SLIGHTEST nudge
against the maze will cause the entire structure to sway on that
spring. Kim seems to be doing bother fairly well; the maze only
sways a bit as she's the first to get the bowl through. Christina
and Alicia get theirs through just as Kim begins her second. And
Sabrina...she finishes her first as Kim finishes her SECOND...so
it's not likely she's gonna win unless somebody tips their stack
over.
Kim drops her third mid-maze
as Christina finishes her second, making them neck-and-neck out
of nowhere. Kim again takes the slight lead after three bowls are
placed. Chelsea drops HER third, putting her further behind. And
Sabrina...she drops her second JUST as it comes out of the maze.
We shan't be speaking of her for the rest of this Challenge. Kim
sets #4 on her fairly-wobbly platform seconds before Christina places
HERS on her fairly-stable platform.
It stays that close through
#5 through #8; with Chelsea barely at #6, Kim and Chelsea fight
for the win as they each grab #9. The wind starts pick up a bit,
swaying Christina's structure a fair bit. She pauses and waits for
things to settle before moving #9 along, allowing Kim to zip her
way through the maze. She places it on top...and it looks like Pisa
on a stick from a distance. Still, she leads as she grabs the last
bowl. As she starts down the track, Christina finishes HER ninth
and places it nice and straight before heading back for #10. Kim
takes a bit more time with this last one, not wanting to jostle
the maze even the slightest lest she blows her chance. She nudges
a rim with the bowl...but she stops and waits for the structure
to settle before continuing. She gets it out...she mounts the steps...she
moves the bowl above the other nine...she places it carefully...she
pulls the grabber away...
...and the tower stands!
One more time, KIM WINS IMMUNITY!! KIM'S IN THE FINAL THREE!!!
With the Necklace back
around her neck, Kim gets to go to the Final Tribal Council and
plead her case ot the Jury. But, FIRST, she will be instrumental
in deciding who will be WITH her tomorrow night and who will be
the last member OF said Jury to WHICH she'll plead her case. A lot
to think about as she leads the girls back to camp.
AFTERNOON 38: WHO TO LEAVE
IN, WHO TO LEAVE OUT...
To say Kim is releaved
to have Immunity again is an understatement. For the first time
in a while, she is EXCITED to go to Tribal. But one person will
NOT be excited...and that's Christina. When Kim approaches her and
is asked by her to just come out and say it, Kim admits that she'll
be the last one to go. Surprisingly, she seems fine with it. "Is
it what it is," she says. The two girls hug, certain of no
hard feelings between them. Christina's happy she made it this far
and just wants to have an enjoyable and peaceful final day on One
World Beach.
Kim, meanwhile, tells
Chelsea about the conversation. And Kim is a LITTLE perplexed about
it...and is starting to re-think sending Christina home. She doesn't
think Christina could get any Jury votes...unlike Sabrina. What
to do, what to do...
TRIBAL COUNCIL: UNSTOPPABLE...KIM,
POSSIBLE?
With Alicia in the Jury
Box with the others waiting to see who will be the last among them,
Tikiano gets set for this penultimate Council. Again, Kim comments
on how quiet and non-scrambled things were at camp. Sabrina added
that everyone seemed to know what was going to happen...so nobody
felt the need to scramble. Chelsa said it was cut-and-dry who was
leaving. When Uncle Jeff prods, Christina spills that it's HER going
home tonight. The other three were set in an alliance since 37 days
ago...so she knows she's on the outs..
Jeff wonders WHY Christina's
knowing this fact didn't MEAN scrambling to try to break-up the
Girls Alliance? She says she COULD have convinced Kim and Chelsea
that Sabrina wasn't worthy and didn't do well in Challenges...but
why bother when they were so tight with each other? Sabrina's not
too surprised to she Christina "lay down"; she thinks
Christina didn't COME to win. If Sabrina knew her name was being
bantered about for elimination, she would've been scrambling today.
Jeff is still confused as to why Christina doesn't fight this since
some unlikely people have WON this game in the past. Christina shakes
her head, saying she just CAN'T fight an alliance this strong. Kim
says she would fight were she in Christina's position...and that
"things aren't as clear as they seem". This makes Chelsea
and Sabrina turn the heads as if to say, "Say WHAT?!"
It is time to vote...though
it seems like just a formality. Jeff says, though, it could be a
"million-dollar mistake". Still, Christina (who chooses
Sabrina because she STILL doesn't think she deserves it), Chelsea,
Sabrina (who felt Christina didn't know how to play this game) and
Kim write out their vote. Jeff tallies and reads them:
Sabrina...
Christina...
Christina...
...and Christina,
No surprise. By a 3-1
vote, Christina will be going back to Hollywood thinking about what
might've been. But she leaves with a smile, knowing she'll see the
others tomorrow night. Uncle Jeff tells Kim, Chelsea and Sabrina
that they have gone as far as they can go on their own...and their
fate now lays in the hands of nine people they helped get rid of
since the Merge. So...have a good final night in the South Pacific...and
see you back here in 24 hours.
DAY 39: ONE LAST TIME FOR
OLD TIME'S SAKE
Sabrina's...rather emotional
this morning, glad to have got this far and thankful for all God
has given to her these past 39 days. She was laid off from a teaching
position before coming on the show and she wanted to teach kids
to aspire for more than what they see in Brooklyn. But, she says,
she can't stay that way for the rest of the day. She needs to get
her game face on for the Final Tribal since it is still ANYBODY's
game in her mind; everyone has their strong points that they need
to make clear tonight.
The Final Three walk to
Tree-Mail one last time (and Kim plans to beg for mercy since she
has "no boobs left") and they find a final feast awaiting
them with fruit, bread, eggs and mammosa ingredients on ice. Chelsea
is shocked to have made it this far. Her father said he'd be proud
of her even if she had been the first one out. She knows that the
million bucks is the goal of the game but...she found a BIGGER prize
in the adventure, friendships and memories to pass on.
Kim isn't exactly lacking,
either. She got divorced just before showing up on One World. She
amazed herself as to how she went from weeping divorcee to quick-decision
maker during these five-and-a-half weeks. No matter what happens
tonight, she will march out of the Council with her head held high,
her confidence increased, her self-esteem at an all-time high...and,
with any luck at all, a million-dollar check.
FINAL TRIBAL COUNCIL
For the last time, the
Council Hutch of Doom and Uncle Jeff awaits the women. After they
sit, the Jury comes in: Jonas, Mike, Jay, Leif, Troyzan, Kim, Tarzan,
Alicia and Christina sit opposite them. Uncle Jeff goes through
the rules. The girls will make opening statements, then each Jury
member will ask them (or just TELL them) something which will help
them decide who should win...and then the Final Vote.
Chelsea stands to talk.
She says that "pairs" in Survivor are important...and
she and Kim became a "pair" on Day 1, trusting each other
100% and planning out eliminations together. But, after the Merge,
Chelsea was AGAINST voting out Jonas...and she had a gut-check.
She changed her game to being a "hard-ass cold-hearted"
person that the rest of them knew. The Jury may be mad at Kim because
they were emotionally tied to her...but Chelsea didn't allow it
and is sorry for that. She ends by saying she will back the Jury's
decision 100%, even if it's not for her.
Kim LOVES this game...and
she thought she knew how to play it. She came in ready and willing
to do whatever it took to be where she is now. She's proud of the
way he strategized and felt she couldn't have played it any better.
That being said, sending people to the Jury DID hurt her. She kept
thinking about their families and what they would do with the money...and
denying that hurt her badly. She asks for forgiveness fro the Jury,
though she has no other regrets about the game.
Sabrina's strategy was
the same as in real-life: balance. If she leaned too far one way,
she would've been out long ago. She held back her physical strengths
to not look too strong and yet still not seem weak. Post-Merge,
she stayed out of the loop of the Girls Alliance, simply getting
and accepting messages from Kim and Chelsea about who goes next.
She tells about her former job of teaching inner-city children.
She concludes that, winning is great...but just being there is a
"blessing".
After some time to digest,
it's time for the Jurors to chat it up. First up is Jonas. At first,
he wants the ladies to address him as "Master Jonas"...but
he cracks up and says he's kidding. He liked Sabrina and felt she
was quite popular but, MAN, did she suck at Challenges! Chelsea
is cute but is asked about her "boldest move", which she
responds that it was her that got Kat voted out. Kim kicked Jonas'
ass "fair and square" and she was flawless...until the
previous Council; Jonas wonders why Christina isn't in Sabrina's
place. Kim says that, if everyone hated HER, CHRISTINA would win.
Next is Christina and
she asks Kim that, if she WAS to be part of the Final Three, who
would be in HER place: Sabrina or Chelsea? Kim thinks that she has
a better chance against Sabrina so...Chelsea would've been gone.
Christina asks Chelsea why she hates people, which sets Chelsea
to laughing. She DOESN'T hate people; she just thought with her
HEAD and not her HEART (as Kim reminded her to do). Nothing for
Sabrina; Christina sits down.
Jay steps up and says,
"No hard feelings". He asks Sabrina about her "laid-back"
strategy, as it seemed to manifest in camp life as WELL as Challenges.
She says it WAS all strategy; she didn't want to be over-bearing.
Plus, she only learned to swim the week before arriving, so fishing
would NOT have been a good idea for her. That's all Jay had so he
sits down.
Now for Mike. He asks
Kim to define a "blindside" for him. She says it's "sending
someone home who has no idea they're going home and convincing them
they're NOT going home so they're shocked." Mike THEN asks
her if she's "prefected" that art. Kim says it's necessary
to do that in this game...and reminded Mike that she got Troyzan
to vote for him over a woman when Mike was kicked out. Mike adds
that one more aspect of blindsides is blame...and that Kim took
all the blame for every time she did it. He wonders if that was
smart or stupid to tell everyone she DID blindside that she DID?
*rubs hands together*
Oooo, this should be GOOD; it's Tarzan's turn to speak! He thanks
God for making it as far as he did...and thanks the girls for KEEPING
him around long enough to have his wife come to the island, even
if the visit was short-lived. He was so happy to hold her during
that brief time and will remember that moment for the rest of his
life. (Of course, that's not EXACTLY what he said, but I don't have
a dictionary handy to translate so...I summarized as best as I could.).
Chelsea hopes to find a partner and have the same kind of deep-hearted
relationship as Tarzan has with his wife.
Little guy Leif hops off
the bench to address the girls. He's still fairly bitter about being
voted off and wanted to ask the girls how it felt doing so. Kim
was never sure is Leif was trustworthy. Sabrina repeats that she
just got the message from Kim and Chelsea and she followed through
on it...though she regrets not TELLING Leif about the vote beforehand.
He doesn't ask Christina (probably thinks it'll be the same answer
as Kim's) and congratulates them.
Alicia tells Kim that
the two of them played as kingpins with two pawns apiece (Kim's
were Chelsea and Sabrina, Alicia's were Tarzan and Christina). Alicia
then say Kim KNEW she wouldn't stand a snowball's chance in a Pacific
volcano were they BOTH in the Final Three. She calls Chelsea "Miss
Puerto Rico" and labels her as an unexpected threat. Despite
that, she loves the girls and wishes them good luck.
Troyzan's next up and
lets the girls know that he doesn't, contrary to belief, hate their
guts. His only problem is with Kim and asks about the time it was
decided to vote him out. His question to Kim - of which the answer
would REALLY help decide who gets the dough - is when was the moment
she decided to do that? Kim replies that it was when Jonas was taken
out. With a smile, he heads back, not answering if she got the answer
right or not.
Finally, there's Kat...*rubs
hands together harder*...and this should be REAL good! She was upset
and hurt badly when she was kicked out in favor of keeping Tarzan.
She was particularly pissed at Kim. But...then she shares a secret
with them. She had two open-heart surgeries when she was 12...and
she wants to have children so she'll have to have ANOTHER one next
year for that to happen. She didn't want to show weakness by telling
the others. But she finally decided that she doesn't have time to
be angry with them. She's going to choose who played the best game.
And, to the Jury, she asks them to take the time they have and live
it as best as they can...and not base their decision on anger. "It
takes a lot more energy to be angry," she says, "...and
it's a lot easier to smile and forgive and be happy." (Wow...did
not expect that...)
Uncle Jeff gives the Jury
their last instructions: to go write down the name of the one most
deserving of the million dollars. One by one they march to the alcove,
write down the names on the parchment and place them in the cask.
Troyzan votes for Sabrina, saying that, though Kim won the Challenges,
it didn't mean she played the best. Turns out that Kat IS still
mad at Kim...but she votes for Kim anyway saying that, if she didn't,
then she "hasn't learned a amend thing". Uncle Jeff then
tallies the votes...walks back to the podium...and, like so many
times before, tells everyone that they'll have to wait until they're
stateside to find out who wins. He walks off with the cask...and
someone might as well just shout:
LIVE FROM NEW YORK, IT'S SURVIVOR
NIGHT!
The Ed Sullivan Theater
has again been transformed from David Letterman's Late Show haunting
grounds into a not-quite replica for the Council Hutch of Doom.
Kim, Chelsea and Sabrina are there, all cleaned up. The Jury is
there, all cleaned up. Uncle Jeff (who's ALWAYS clean) brings the
voting cask in. He reminds the three ladies that, this time, they
WANT their name on the parchment. Five votes will mean an automatic
win...but even four could win someone the million-dollar check.
Here are the votes:
Kim...
Sabrina...
Kim...
Sabrina...
Kim...
Kim...
KIM!!!
By a 7-2-0 vote, KIM
SPRADLIN IS THE SOLE SURVIVOR OF "SURVIVOR: ONE WORLD"!!!!!
EPILOGUE: "FAMILY"
REUNION
Nobody really watches
the "Reunion" show so...I'll sum up quickly. Kim says
that the biggest move she made en route to the million was getting
to know everyone in the game. She knew that in a game that starts
out men vs. women, there is no switching come the Merge; if you're
a woman, you KO the men ASAP. Then Mike gets called out concerning
the time Manono gave up Immunity just to vote out Bill. Mike admits
this was a bad move on their part. Tarzan explains what little strategy
HE had: Colton was his shield. Both Chelsea and Troyzan admit they
were mesmerized by how Kim played the game, making those in fear
feel comfortable and safe...even when they were about to be blindsided.
Jonas throws in that he should've made a "big move" earlier.
But most of the rest of
the night goes to Colton. He says that his whole "bitch with
teeth" act was just that: an act. He understood how mean he
looked to everyone but he really ISN'T like that. When Uncle Jeff
asks if he is a racist or a bigot (as per his comments to Bill), he
says he's not. He was just out of his comfort zone. Besides, everyone
said things got boring after they hauled him out on a stretcher.
And his momma, Martha, gives him a tongue-lashing on national TV
because of it. (Happy Mother's Day, huh?)
OK, back off of Colton
for a bit. Greg says he got his nickname of "Tarzan" after
falling out of a tree. Everyone was touched by his relationship
with his wife, Terri and he says they stay together because they
never lie, not to each other nor to anybody. Kat talks about her
energy and that she's in good health (as are Colton and Kourtney,
BTW). Alicia loves the kids she teaches. Leif felt proud to represent
the "vertically challenged" and, though he was hurt by
what Colton said, he came out of the situation feeling great. Monica
was SO happy when she re-met her NFL hubby at the airport home.
And Bill got a standing O when his co-stars and their families came
to one of his stand-up shows. Finally, Christina says she didn't
feel bullied by Alicia and Colton; it was just strategy to her.
And, yes, there WILL be
a 25th Survivor...like there was ANY doubt. The only question
is...WHERE will it take place? Well, after being from Borneo to
Thailand, Australia to Africa, the Amazon to the Tocantins, China
to Nicaragua and Exile Island to Redemption Island, the reality
show that made reality shows chic will, for the first time, hit
the archipelago of the Philippines. Three people who had to be taken
out of the game due to injury will join new brave souls in the shark-infested,
snake-riddled, storm-blasted environment. And, for the first time
since Survivor: All Stars, there will be THREE tribes, allegedly
"led" by said evacuees. Will the second chance work for
the veterans or will a newcomer take the Sole Survivor crown? Find
out...this fall!
