Going For the Oscar
December 6

Last time, Peih-Gee couldn’t stop playing the game for anything, as she and a few others went to the famed Shaolin Monastery. Must’ve worked, because James, who sat on TWO immunity idols, was sent packing.

Night 30: Most shocking?

All Todd had to say was “Wow.” Peih-Gee has hope as she sees the original Fei Longs turn against each other.

Day 31: More rain.

Todd’s not an emotional person, but he is really hurting for home right now. He can’t trust anyone 100 percent, but his alliance of Amanda, Courtney, and Denise want to see either Erik or Peih-Gee gone.

R-Challenge: Crazed Maze (for a boat trip and a phone call from home)

Paired in teams of two, one on opposing ends of the maze, you must find your partner, and get to the center. Making things interesting, you’ll be blindfolded.
Here are the teams...

Erik/his mom Denise
Amanda/her sister Katrina
Peih-Gee/her dad Lawrence
Todd/his sister Brandy (who’s sister Kim miscarried)
Courtney/her dad Graham (“I’m English, I don’t do shorts.”)
Denise/her husband Robert

Winners: Denise & Robert. They’re headed on the boat, and going with them... Todd & Brandy... and Amanda & Katrina. For the rest of the Survivors, this isn’t goodbye, it’s just “until Day 39.”

Oh, and there’s one more thing. The loved ones will get to spend the night at camp.

The six winners head on board for ribs, chicken, and pizza. Denise is over the moon about a) winning the challenge, and b) having her husband, who’s afraid to fly, here in China with her.

Phone’s ringing. It’s Denise’s daughter Erin. Lots of crying in the background. This all keeps her going right to the bitter end.

Back at camp, Peih-Gee is pissed (C-Note: what a surprise) about not being able to go on the challenge. The others are questioning if Todd’s other sister having a convenient miscarriage. Erik: “If it’s true, my deepest condolences to the family.” Courtney... of course, isn’t known for such mercy.

Everyone shows back up, and Peih-Gee doesn’t really feel like welcoming in open arms, especially after the last round and taking Denise to the temple. Todd, meanwhile, is talking about Kim. “They’re going to think I’m lying.” Unfortunately... the story checked out.

Denise and Robert talk about lost times.

Amanda says that it’s no longer a good idea backstabbing anyone. But they do decide that Amanda, Courtney, and Todd “make a cute final three.”

Day 32: And now it’s time to say goodbye to all our company...

Laughs have been had and tears have been shed, but now it’s time to get back to the game, which means for Robert, Katrina, and Brandy, it’s time to bow out. That kills, but you can’t stop the game.

Denise continues to feel vulnerable, so she decides to make her peace with Peih-Gee and not picking her. At least Peih-Gee feels better in that she can count on her for a vote later. Meanwhile, she feels like she needs to win a challenge.

Well, here’s one.

Day 33:

I-Challenge: The Mother of Invention

You will be attached to a rope which is entangled to an obstacle course. In the end, you’ll have to open a box which contains one true and one false statement on Chinese inventions. Grab a key and race to the start. If you’re right, the key will open your lock. First person to answer three questions and unlock three locks will win.

Winner: Peih-Gee.

She’s still crying about the underdog winning the big prize. This is a proud moment for her. She’s safe now, but it’s been really exhausting.

Todd’s just hoping that the plan follows through tonight, that being that Erik goes tonight. Erik makes a play with Amanda, especially talking about Todd’s sister. “If you don’t trust him, then what’s the deal?” Erik and Peih-Gee want to vote for Todd. They just need one more vote to force a tie. “Suddenly (Denise’s) chance of getting to top three are much better.” Courtney and Amanda say that they will keep voting alongside Todd. Denise just turned into the swing.

Well, that cold wind is familiar.

Night 33: Tribal...

Amanda thinks that Denise is blessed with a great life. The downside? “It’s bad because maybe they’re scared to let them go against them in the finals.” Peih-Gee thinks there is some ambiguity in the vote tonight. They could turn the game around entirely. Denise feels like she’s on the bottom of the barrel. Todd trusts a few people, because he has no other choice. Erik did everything he can to crack the other four.

Todd: ERIK – “Either going to be you or me, tonight. I’m not ready to go.”
Erik: TODD – “Too many people said they couldn’t trust you. Sorry.”
Denise: (hidden) – “Sorry I had to do this. Probably the biggest mistake I’m going to make in this game.”

The others...

Peih-Gee: TODD
Amanda: ERIK :)
Courtney: ERIK

And Denise’s vote... Erik. By a count of 4-2, Erik, THE TRIBE HAS SPOKEN.
