Handsome
Reward
October 29
On the season finale of "The Island", a
fortune will be won. The journey to this treasure began with 20 eager
participants who arrived in Panama. And they soon discover that island
living proved to be a challenge of its own. In a series of face-offs,
the competitors fought to win one of eight keys. These valuable keys are
needed to claim a seat on one of the two boats the participants have
been building to sail on a race to reach a $300,000 prize.
A powerful alliance formed, which found Johnny and Kenny calling the
shots. As the battle for keys heated up, a bitter rivalry formed between
alliance leader Johnny and Island rival Evelyn. With all eight keys
given out, the Island was thrown for a loop when the winners of the
remaining face-offs could take a key from anyone of their choosing.
Evelyn won a key from Johnny before he won the face-off after that and
took it back from her in a matter of sweet revenge.
At the last elimination, a surprise twist shocked the Island upon
hearing the news that Dan, Evelyn, Johanna, and KellyAnne were
automatically competing in the final face-off. The winner of that will
take a key from any of the eight who have one. After the word was out,
Kenny struck a deal with Ev; If she won the face-off and she took
Dunbar's key, Kenny, Johnny and Derrick would accept her in their final
group for the boat (leaving both Dunbar and Paula out).
The final face-off challenge is called "Water Bound". Dan, Ev, Johanna,
and KellyAnne will have their ankles binded up together with restraints.
They'll all be holding up weights with their hands behind their backs.
When T.J. gives the signal, the aforementioned four will jump into the
water 12-feet deep. They must hold their weights with both hands no
matter what. They're going to have to continuously let the weight pull
them to the ocean floor so they can pull up to the surface to catch a
breath. If a participant drops their weights at any time, they're
eliminated. The one participant left wins not only this challenge, but
also a $3,000 gift card and an opponent to take a key from. Dan was
eliminated first before the game even started. KellyAnne dropped her
weights, being the second participant eliminated. Johanna then dropped
her weights leaving Evelyn to be the clear winner of that face-off.
In the final ceremony before the boat race, host Lavin takes care of a
little business by dismissing Dan, Johanna, and KellyAnne as they're out
of the running for the $300K prize pool. Then Derrick, Dunbar, Jennifer,
Johnny, Kenny, Paula, Robin, and Ryan plead their cases as to why they
should be on Ev's boat. Eventually Ev accepts Kenny's deal and takes
Dunbar's key eliminating from the game. The eight remaining participants
now have to divide themselves into two teams of four barring any
deliberations. Paula realized what was happening at the ceremony and was
very upset about being crossed by her alliance. Eventually Kenny picked,
Ev, Johnny and Derrick while Paula picks Ryan, Robin, and Jen. The teams
then have to assign themselves colors. Paula's team will represent the
color blue while Kenny's team will represent red. The teams then work on
their boats and Dunbar also joined in the festivities.
The final day has come and a plane drops one more crate with the final
pieces to their boats. Both teams begin the race by finishing up their
boats. The blue team seems to have an advantage thanks to Dunbar, but
the red team has already made the gap as they hit the water. Then the
blue team starts building their lead before the red team starts gaining
momentum. The sail on the blue teams boat isn't secured properly, but
they aren't giving up this fight. Then Johnny sails the red team to the
promised land as they see the treasure. The red team gets there first
and they open the chest to a big check for $300,000. And after eight
hour-long, drama-filled, episodes Derrick, Evelyn, Johnny, and Kenny are
the Island's joint champions.
And thus ends another season of "The Real World/Road Rules Challenge:
The Island". From somewhere in Cloquet, MN, this is Brian Moore
