Jump Down Under - August 7

Previously on Fresh Meat, the game took a shocking turn when the former powerhouse team of Coral and Evan were required to leave the competition because of their injuries. At the "Batten Down the Hatches" challenge, Derrick and Diem climbed their way to their first win. Despite Diem's close friendship with Linette, the victory became bittersweet when they made the tough decision to vote Shane and Linette into Exile. Weary Exile veterans Wes and Casey were then voted back into the Exile for the fifth time and Linette's anger at Diem's betrayal continued to boil over. Which team will be sent home by way of the Exile this time? Let's find out...

We start of the show off with Linette chatting with Diem about why she is so upset at how the vote went. Then Derrick mentions that they're not going to give Shane and Linette a chance at the pardon stating that it's dumb.

The teams get their next clue...

>> You're just a hop, skip, and a jump away from your next challenge. Be ready to leave by 8 AM.

Wes and Casey are focusing on winning the next challenge and the pardon. Shane feels like his team has a good chance of winning.

The teams meet T.J. at the island quarry in New South Wales for their next challenge called "Jump Down Under." Each of the teams will be jumping from a 12-meter platform, which is the equivalent of jumping off a four-story building. When a team jumps into the water, they'll them make a 20-foot swim to the Rave Superlaunch. From there, they'll climb up the rope ladder and make their way across the superlaunch as fast as possible to grab their flags. Then they'll hit the water for a final 30-foot swim to the designated floating flagpoles to put the flags on to stop the time.

The team who clocks in the fastest will win this challenge and a pair of Oakley MP3 sunglasses. Since Derrick and Diem won the last challenge, they conduct the order of play this time.

Once again bad luck hits Wes and Casey when her fear to jump off the platform set in so high that she's decides to forget it and not even Wes' so-called help will change her mind. And for too many times in this season, they once again get DQed.

Derrick and Diem win again, but Shane and Linette's best efforts were not enought to keep them out of Exile.

For this Exile race and future ones, I'll only mention the bag weights to only teams new to the Exile. Since Shane and Linette is the new team in Exile, I'll mention that they have to carry a total bag weight of 171 pounds. Past the starting point Casey isn't all there according to Wes and she's not saying anything at all to make him know that she's confident.

Shane and Linette get to first checkpoint ahead of Wes and Casey that has a puzzle with an old-fashioned, rotary telephone. The numbers provided on the card on the desk is a code using the letters marked on each numbered circle...

702520
10655110
786226761612372
62673
16371152

This is a list in which the numbers represent five Australian towns. To solve three out of the five, the team must write down the answers on the paper supplied.

But Shane's brain hurts and decides to pass on the puzzle and move on. Then Casey stops over there, but Wes encourages her to pass on it and move on.

Linette's bags are slowing her down and notices that Shane is carrying three bags. Then Casey passes her bag to Wes as they go up the hill and reach the second checkpoint. The puzzle there sees a formation of triangles using sticks, the objective is to remove three of them to leave just three triangles.

Wes tries it out, but was incorrect and the second verse is the same as the first for Shane and Linette. In the end Wes and Casey once again survived elimination while Shane and Linette bit the dust in the hardest and tighest Exile race yet.

The players end the show hanging out at a bar after another day of competition. Can Wes and Casey win the next challenge to stay out of Exile or will they get screwed by another case of deferred success. We'll find out in the next installment of Fresh Meat.
