Houston Final

So far, 30 athletes have
punched their ticket to Vegas. Now another 15 will join
them. Who will enter the ranks from the Lone Star State?

As with each City Final Course, there are ten obstacles,
the six from Qualifying, plus four more obstaclues
including a new one.

- Tilting Slider
- Spinning Log
- Cargo Crossing
- Swinging Spikes
- Warped Wall: 14 feet, three tries.
- SALMON LADDER
- WALKING BAR: walk a bar along a series of steps, then
transition to a rope and swing to...
- CRAZY CLIFFHANGER
- INVISIBLE LADDER
This is a win-and-in affair. Anyone who hits the buzzer
atop the Invisible Ladder will move on to the National
Finals and a shot at $1 million.

- Tremayne "The Muscle" Dortch (29; Houston; personal
trainer; completed): this competition helped him
reconnect with his dad. FAIL Crazy Cliffhanger

instructor; completed): mom was not supportive at first.

Two veteran Ninjas - Josh Grant and Joe Calderon -
couldn't survive the Salmon Ladder.
- Jon Horton (29; Houston; Olympic gymnast; completed):
waited in the walk-on line to be the shortest man to
scale the Warped Wall. FAIL Walking Bar
Halfway through the night, and the big killer is the
Walking Bar. Only Tremayne Dortch has mastered it.
- Jeremiah Morgan (25; Pass Christian, MS; minister;
Swinging Spikes): COMPLETE! (6:15.68)
Another couple of athletes - Christopher Janes and
Nathan Jasso - give up the ghost over the break.
- Karsten Williams (34; Plano, TX; youth fitness

- Daniel Gil (21; Houston; worship leader): FAIL Crazy

- Brent Steffensen (33; San Antonio; gym owner): FAIL
Walking Bar. BUT by touching that obstacle he is
guaranteed a spot in Vegas.
Jonathan Parr dropped at the Walking Bar for 14th.
Robert Ing and Tony Matesi dropped at the Spikes, so
he'll move on as we head into the final run of the
night, the man who has birthed so many ninjas in
Houston.
