Round of 8: Love's Labours Won
September 1

The ladies completely lost the point, as Slim takes a bitter pill, leaving Masterchef to the eight remaining. And they're dressed up to the nines, because they're off to a wedding.

FIELD CHALLENGE

Among the three judges we have 31 years of marriage... and six months... Graham. It's all about 230 guests and the couple of the day. Make them remember it.

Lee won the Invention Test, so he'll choose the teams.

BLUE: Lee, Jake, Mike, Tracy
RED: Sharone, Whitney, David, Sheetal

And that leaves Sharone with a bitter taste in his mouth.

Each team will cook 115 apps of Caesar Salad with Goat Cheese Tartlet, 115 entrees of surf & turf with mash, fried onions, and steamed veg. The judges will decide who wins based on time management, kitchen ability, and above all, taste. The Blues will cook for the groom's side, while the Reds will cook for the bride's side.

This is no rehearsal... This is real. Three hours to prep. On the Blues, Lee is a very organized leader. He knows the skills of his teammates. Now let's see him act on them. On the Reds, Sharone emerges as the leader. He takes charge of the salmon. With Gordon watching... and immediately, he's back to his old bitter self. That's not good.

The guests are starting to arrive, while the Blues are under control. The Reds... not so much. Sharone has to pull them together if they are to have any chance of winning. Remember, every plate comes out with love. David ends up playing the QC role on the seasoning of all the dishes. The cracks start to show on the Blue side as Tracy's lettuce doesn't pass muster.

Now that the man and the lady of the hour have said their "I dos", apps are due... and both teams are starting to crumble. So much so that Gordon and Graham are JACKETS ON!

The Red Team, under Gordon's tutelage, get the first apps out. Graham's blue team, with setbacks in the lettuce department, are stalled. Reds are beginning to hold up on the entrees because they don't know where the salmon is. Meanwhile, both teams finally get it together as Joe canvasses the floor for opinions. Good stuff all around.

But still, it's a challenge. Someone has to win. Someone has to lose.

There is one small difference.... and THE RED TEAM delivered it. David's attention to detail and the seasoning propelled him to hero status.

PRESSURE TEST

We're making fresh pasta and fresh sauces that culminate into one fabulous dishes. And today... the stakes have just doubled. TWO people are going home on the back on this test.

Ninety minutes.... from NOW!

Tracy: Ravioli Bolognese
Jake: Stuffed Calamari with Marinara over Fettuccine
Mike: Fettuccine with Roasted Peppers in Mushroom Cream Sauce
Lee: Roasted Eggplant Ravioli with Caper Berry Sauce

Remember... TWO are going home. Right now. Mike... is not one of them. He's safe.

Tracy... is not safe. She's going home.

Jake... joins.... Tracy. He's going home. And Gordon's rather pissed, because he was one of his favorites to be in the final.

Only six remain. Who'll rise to the top... and who'll fall flat?
