Making the Top 18
January 5

Auditions continue tonight as the experts head to the all-important Short List. The toughest decisions are yet to be made as only 18 get a shot at the public vote and move one step closer to $500,000.

EXPERTS' SHORT LIST

After nine minutes of sheer boredom, we arrive at 16 of the final 18. They are left with FOUR acts to fill in the two remaining spots. The experts decide on a wild-card dance-off, they're going to pick one to go through, and the other three will compete for America's vote.

But first, let's surprise the 16 that DID make it absolutely for sure...

- AMANDA & D'ANGELO (Miami)
- HAP & BEV (Los Angeles)
- JALEN (Seattle)
- THE VIBE (Lindon, UT)
- DAX & SARAH (Los Angeles)
- DANCE TOWN CHAOS (Miami)
- DU-SHAUNT STEGALL (Las Vegas)
- SHORE THING (Cape May, NJ)
- ROOSEVELT ANDERSON (Brooklyn, NU)
- AUSTEN ACEVEDO (Orlando)
- DANCE IN FLIGHT (Los Angeles)
- JITTIN' GENIUS (Detroit)
- TWITCH (Miami)
- CHI-TOWN FINEST BREAKERS (Chicago)
- TAP SOUNDS UNDERGROUND (Los Angeles)
- JILL & JACOB (Los Angeles)

Now for the four acts who're going to face off in a dance-off.

- THEATRIX (Temecula, CA)
- WHITE TREE FINE ART (San Francisco)
- INSIDE THE BOX (Pomona, CA)
- KENDALL GLOVER (Phoenix)

And these acts have 24 hours to learn a new routine with new costumes... pack... and meet the experts at the Dome.

THE DANCE-OFF

First inside the Dome is INSIDE THE BOX. They have their own particular niche, but do the 25 members of the group have the range to bring something new to the table? Paula wanted to see difference in their niche.

Next, KENDALL GLOVER is being pulled from middle school in Phoenix to the Dance Dome in LA. We know she's smarter than your usual 5th grader, but can she move better than one? Paula says that she hit the sweet spot where she was just effortless.

Next up, Ethan & Nicole White, also known as WHITE TREE FINE ART. They dance to share their love of dance and their love of each other. They also want to honor their mentor, who taught them in their studio. Is he looking on from heaven and beaming with pride? Kimberly sees a lot of passion in this group.

Finally, we go to THEATRIX. Travis gave them a red star instead of a gold one. He sprung the news that they had 24 hours to come up with something new and brilliant. Will it be HIS vote that puts the group through or America's? Travis said that they had a lot of range to be on this stage, BUT their footwork was not in sync.

And now for the ultimate decision. One of these acts will go through on the backs of the experts. The others will compete for YOUR vote, America.

The Experts have chosen.... as act #17...

- KENDALL GLOVER (Phoenix)

The Experts had their say. Now it's time for you to have yours. One of the three remaining acts will be back to compete in the semifinals. For the other two, it's the end of the road.

Back next week for the results of your vote.. AND the first live semifinal!
