Running Through the Rain With a Newspaper
October 1

Last week, it was Alec & Josie,
who had a score that was low-sie,
the fans did pick right,
and it wasn't light,
as they were the first ones to go. See?

Enough with that limerick, this week, the remaining 11 will compete in one night for a quickstep or a mambo. Get the popcorn out, it's time to party!

Up first, Mel & Maks doing a quickstep to "Take on Me" by A-Ha. Both danced around the band area and they did back kicks as well. Both did quick bounces and ran to sit on the stairs to end it. Let's go to the judges now. Carrie Ann said it was very solid, Len said it was able to do it so beautifully, and Bruno said it had the classy look of Lena Horne. Going around the horn for the scoreboard:

CARRIE: 7
LEN: 8
BRUNO: 8
Total Score: 23
Sweet Start!

Next up, Mark & Kym mambo to "Ride WIth Me" by Nelly. Kym did a split and a go-through before Kym did spins. To the judges we go. Carrie Ann said it certainly made her laugh, Len said it was a bit of a mess, and Bruno said it was watching a bulldog chase a squirrel. Don't you mean Georgia and Rocky? Anyways, here''s the scores:

CARRIE: 6
LEN: 6
BRUNO: 6
Total Score: 18
Not good, but it's 2nd place.

Now, Wayne & Cheryl doing a quickstep to "Viva Las Vegas" by Elvis Presley. It had some tomfollery throughout, but it was serious as Cheryl did a slide. Let's slide over with the judges. Carrie Ann said it brought Vegas to the ballroom, Len said it's not an imrprovement, and Bruno said it was almost like holding down the red carpet. let's hold up on the numbers:

CARRIE: 5
LEN: 5
BRUNO: 5
Total Score: 15
Way in last, way way in last.

Getting ready now is Marie & Jonathan doing a mambo. Marie did a statue pose and ragdoll dips. Jonathan gestured a football player and kicked over Marie. Let's kick it with the judges. CARRIE: 8
LEN: 8
BRUNO: 8
Total Score: 24
And they're now in the lead!

Now up, ALbert & Anna doing a quickstep to "99 Luftballons" by Nena. Albert slid down the entrance rail and at the end, he slides and points to the camera. Now let's point to the judges.
