Game Show Newsnet - Dancing with the Stars: Season 8

Two weeks ago, it was for group. Last week, it was a team. This week, it's themselves. Yes, themselves. 2 rounds and it's all over. Let's begin.

BALLROOM ROUND

We begin with Shawn & Mark doing a quickstep to "Friend Like Me" from "Aladdin." They were trying to to swing dancing until they went to normal quickstepping. Shawn ended it with a slide through. On to the judges. Carrie Ann said it was her best dance ever, Len said she must stick to the rules and Bruno said she got it out of herself. BTW, a rule was broken in the hold, but did the scoreboard hurt it?

CARRIE: 9

Round 1 Score: 27

Next up, Ty & Chelsie doing an Argentine tango. Ty did some foot circles and went to the judges table for a drinking gesture. Chelsie did a high jump and that was it. We go to the judges. Carrie Ann said it lacked breath in emotion, Len said it captured the flavor of the dance and Bruno said it was like watching a power ranger. I wonder why the show got cancelled? I'll never know. Scoreboard!

CARRIE: 8

Round 1 Score: 25

And Lil' Kim & Derek will be up to waltz to "When I Need You" by Leo Sayer. You know it was graceful when you saw it. On with the judges. Carrie Ann said it had a lot of missteps, Len said it went off on the wrong foot, and Bruno said it was a lot of hesitation. Let's not waste time with the leaderboard:

Next up, Gilles & Cheryl doing a foxtrot to "Fever" by Peggy Lee. Gilles slid across the floor alone and blew a kiss to Carrie Ann at the judges table. To the judges table we're on. Carrie Ann said it took it to the semifinals, Len said it was danced at a level, and Bruno said it was absolutely in a class of its own. To math class we go!

To wrap up the half, Melissa & Tony doing a waltz to "Angel" by Sarah MacLachlan. Melissa did a ballerina turn and a graceful one near the end. To the judges we go. Carrie Ann said it had the fluidity in her movements, Len said it had great extension and Bruno said she used her arms like an angel. We fly to the leaderboard:

The half is over and Gilles in still in the lead, but we break in the half as our dance pro competition rolls on. Lisa Rinna from the 2nd season and Maurice Greene & Cody Lindley from last season teamed up with Mayo, Afton and Anna. Who did you pick? Alright, let's get on with the 2nd half.

LATIN ROUND

Kicking things off, Shawn & Mark doing a paso doble to "Gotta Get Thru This" by Daniel Bedingfield. Shawn started off solo and Mark did some quick knee slides before they both did hand gestures. Shawn even did a floor sweep. Let's clean up with the judges. Carrie Ann said she delivered the drama, Len said he likes the solo part and Bruno said she got the killer instinct. Let's have a primal rage at the leaderboard:

Next up, Ty & Chelsie doing a rumba to "Free Fallin'" by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers. Both did a few spins and after a bit of a can opener move, Chelsie did a balancing act. She even did a flying squirrel move. Ty did a solo and hugged his wife at the end. Let's not slug it out with the judges, shall we? Carrie Ann said it was a little wooden, Len said it was very sweet at the end and Bruno said what he's seeing is Kenny Mayne. What I'm seeing is...

Overall Score: 46

Next, Lil' Kim & Derek doing a salsa. Derek did a halfway through move and both did arm work. The queen bee broke it down solo and Derek did a heely slide. More arm work came and one interesting move came. On to the judges. Carrie Ann said it was ridiculous, Len said it was absolutely deliciious and Bruno said she spun her head round. Spinning teh nubmers wheel....

Overall Score: 52

Now Gilles & Cheryl do a rumba to "Sexual Healing" by Marvin Gaye. Gilles started off solo to wow the ladies and Cheryl came with him quickly to the floor. And with a blue color on the set, it was on. Now, the judges. Carrie Ann said it was the most highly anticipated rumba, Len said it looked fantastic, and Bruno said it ended up like "Ravage By The Savage." Here's the numbers....

And finally, Melissa & Tony doing a samba to "Jaleo" by Santana. Melissa kicked it off solo and hurled a leg over Tony. Ad since everything else was there, I'm not gonna go to the judges and get to the scores:
